The England U19s took on Denmark at Doncaster last night, and the star of the show was Arsenal’s young striker Chuba Akpom, who scored two goals despite only playing the first 45 minutes. His replacement, Reading’s Dominic Samuel, scored the third in the 3-1 win.
This means that Akpom has now scored five goals in four games for England this season, which augurs well for his future at Arsenal. It is being reported in Scotland that Arsenal are amongst the top teams watching the prolific 16 year-old striker Noel Makombo who has made a massive impression at Alloa this season after helping the Cldesbank BFC win the U16′s title last season.
Makombo, who came through the youth system at Sochaux in France, has been tipped to become the youngest ever first team debutant in Scotland this weekend when Alloa take on Stranraer, as his goalscoring exploits could not be ignored after firing a massive six-goal haul on his debut for the Alloa U19 side. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal to take on Olympiacos in the NextGen series tonight by AM
Arsenal’s youngsters have travelled to Greece to take on Olympiacos in their next group game of the NextGen series. This the second group match this season for the Gunners after they Marseille in the opening round.
The Gunners cruised to a 3-0 victory over the French club in their first match this season. Chuba Akpom was the star of that match as he contributed with two goals and an assist.
