There have been rumbling all season about how unhappy Alex Song has been since his departure from Arsenal last summer. He was a certain starter for the Gunners last season, but now he is finding it hard to get near the first team now he is at Barcelona and has only played 15 games for the Spanish giants.
The rumours that he is missing Arsenal seem to have been confirmed this week when his cousin, Rigobert Song, told reporters: “Barcelona put so much effort into signing him last summer, and Alex turned down many great teams in order to sign with them.
“But this season he has only been a substitute. He is not happy.’ .......Read the full article here

Arsenal seemed to start well against newly-promoted Southampton yesterday but the longer the game went on the Saints looked more and more superior. Watching Arsene Wenger on the touchline you could see the dismay at his teams performance and often he just looked dejected.
After the game, he looked even more depressed as if the whole team had let him down personally and looked to be inches away from tears as he gave his unhappy after match report.
“It was a flat performance, overall,” he muttered. “We were disappointing going forward, we didn’t create enough, when you sum up the chances we created tonight it is very little. .......Read the full article here

There is an excellent Arsenal transfer rumour out this morning saying that the brilliant Bayern Munich and Holland hitman Arjen Robben is fully intending to leave the Bundesliga this summer, and would love to return to London where he had three excellent season’s with Chelsea.
He has been turned on by the other Bayern players and the fans for “being selfish”, despite some immense performances in his time there, and really enjoyed his trip to Wembley last week when he scored the winner in Holland’s 3-2 win over England.
This has led today’s Mirror to suggest that he is looking for a return to a top London team, possibly Arsenal? .......Read the full article here

The Sevilla coach Antonio Alvarez was originally very annoyed that he couldn’t play the French international defender Sebastien Squillaci in Wednesdays Champions League qualifier against Braga. He has decided though to just carry on as if he wasn’t there and won’t pick him for tonights game against Barcelona either.
“I didn’t like the fact that he didn’t want to play against Braga, but the circumstances turned out that way,” he said at a press conference today.
“I wasn’t going to lose a lot of time thinking about what could happen. I turned over a new page and forgot about the issue.” .......Read the full article here
