The Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie is feeling good about his recovery from the ankle injury that threatened to end his season.
When Chiellini sliced through the Dutch striker in the meaningless international friendly between Holland and Italy, it looked like Arsenal were going to be deprived of Van Persie’s services until the summer, but now he thinks he can still play a crucial part in the push for the Premier League title and the Champions League.
Van Persie said: “At this point I can say that my recovery is right on schedule. The injury has been quite bad. Read the full article here

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still trying to persue the legal possibilities of getting compensation from the Dutch FA after his main striker Robin Van Persie suffered a devastating ankle injury while playing in a friendly match against Italy.
But the Frenchman admitted that they were far from presenting a case as yet, saying that they were still in “enquiry”.
“There is nothing there, we are a little bit in no-man’s land at the moment,” said Wenger.
“Why? Because for the international friendlies it is very difficult to get anywhere.
“We are still in enquiry.” Read the full article here

The Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie went to see the controversial “placenta cure” clinic run by Marijana Kovacevic in Serbia soon after being told of the extent of his injuries, but now says that with the new diagnosis there was no hope of it being successful.
But he doesn’t regret the visit, despite it obviously being a waste of time.
Van Persie said: “In the area of torn muscles and partly torn ligaments she has treated players in the majority of cases with success. A number of Liverpool and Chelsea players have all benefited from her treatments. They were all back on the pitch in a very short time. Read the full article here

With the news that Robin Van Persie will be out for the rest of the season, will Arsene Wenger finally realise that he needs to draft another striker into the Arsenal team?
Could it be possible that Wenger has already come to an arrangement with the Bordeaux striker for him to move to the Emirates at Christmas?
Chamakh said the other day: “I just want to achieve a great season with Bordeaux and maybe then sign for a club in the Premier League.
“However it would be fine moving in January for a fee so everyone could take advantage of the transfer.” Read the full article here

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger saw his team fail to score for the first time this season, and lose for the first time in 13 games, and he was not very impressed!
He refused to pinpoint the cause as the lack of Van Persie in attack, and says the team should be scoring goals even without the prolific Dutchman, and they now have the chance to prove it against Standard Liege in the Champions League.
“We have a good opportunity to finish first in the group and qualify, then after we can think about Chelsea.” Read the full article here

The controversy surrounding the “miracle cure” clinic that the Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie visited last week, looks set to continue for a while.
The latest Premiership player to talk about his treatment in Serbia is the Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun, who insists that Marijana Kovacevic told him that he was using placenta from a woman to massage his leg, not from a horse as has been reported previously.
Benayoun said: “There were no animal parts used and no injections. Read the full article here

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lost two of his first choice strikers to injury, which has revived speculation that he may consider a move for the Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh in the January transfer window.
But Wenger is keen to see how his young Mexican star Carlos Vela performs in the next few weeks before making a decision on the transfer situation.
“I’m inclined to say I won’t move for Chamakh because we have enough quality and I want to give a chance to Carlos Vela,” said Wenger. “It’s a good observation period to see how well we do without Van Persie.” Read the full article here
