Lukas Podolski joined Arsenal in the summer, and gave the Gunners a great boost of confidence. A German international with over 100 caps and 44 goals for his country was a great acquisition for Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board. At 27-years old, Arsenal should be getting the best years out of Podolski and, at first, that seemed to be coming true.
The German scored Arsenal’s first goal of the season against Liverpool leading to our first win, and things were looking good, but he has drifted further and further out of games and might as well not have been on the pitch last night. I know he has supposed to have been suffering with a virus, but if he was fit enough to start, he should have been fit enough to have an effect for Arsenal.
