Thierry Henry won’t extend loan period at Arsenal

Posted on February 08, 2012 by admin

The Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has had a fairytale return to the Gunners, scoring within ten minutes of his debut against Leeds, and also scoring in the last minutes of his final appearance at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger hinted that he may try and extend the loan period so that he could be part of the squad to face Arsenal’s great rivals, Tottenham, in three weeks time.

But Henry has admitted that he doesn’t want to “take advantage” of the New York Red Bull’s generosity in allowing him to rejoin his favourite team, so won’t be asking them to extend the loan agreement.

Henry said: “They have been really good about it, so I can’t take advantage of them.”

This means that Henry will only be available for next weekends FA Cup match against Middlesbrough or Sunderland, and of course the crucial Champions League match against AC Milan at the San Siro. He will be returning to America after that match.

Let’s hope he continues the fairytale by scoring in his very last game for Arsenal as well…..

I love Henry, and I’m glad his return did not tarnish his legend at Arsenal FC, but Wenger needs to prioritise and start playing OUR strikers.

Park is desperate for a game, Chamakh needs desperate help, stop sticking them on the bench and give them a run out once in a while, I understand it was Henrys last appearance in the BPL, but when you’re 4.1 up pull off RVP for a rest and give someone 20 minutes to remind them they play for Arsenal.

If Henry is leaving after the AC Milan game then he wont be there for the FA cup. We’ve got Sunderland first in the league, then AC Milan, then the FA cup

Says something when Henry gets ahead of our other 2 strikers. The pair of them are wooeful. Hopeless. Chamakh wouldn’t get a start at Stevenage. We need to buy one top striker for next season. As RVP will be off. And hopefully Vela will be up for getting starts aswell. Bentner coming back aswell…who can’t even start for Sunderland.

    Off topic
but am surprised by the change of mood the rovers result brought
suddenly now every one has become optimistic and its easy to predict what the reaction would be if we fail to beat our next opponent the reason we r so inconsistent is because we have a very limited squad qualitywise
and we need our starting eleven all fit to have a good run and with our injury record it doesnt happen very often
but every fan knows that but our manager believes he must make 20m every year the board hates the word “spending” the fans have no idea who is responsible the team who used to be so hard to beat now has lost one third of its matches in the league

Is it even possible for Henry to Tarnish his legend status????

If he goes then that’s fine, it has been fun having him back. If he can score a winner against Milan then I’ll be laughing until next Christmas.

I do know taht you CAN’T pick Chamakh or Park when you have Henry on the bench. It would make less sense than putting Arshavin on for Chamberlain. I agree Park and Chamakh need opportunities, but they can do that in less crucial games .. ie, NOT CUP GAMES when a loss means being out the tournament.

Some of u may wonder, why is it that Wenger didnt play Parker, even when we are 4-1 up? This is the answer; Arsenal Board has the intention of selling VanPersie at the summer.so the more he shows what he is capable of, especially against poor defenders like Blackburn defence, the higher his transfer fee rises, the more his goals, the higher the rating and of course the higher his price tag. Arsenal Business as usual.

So many Chamakh haters, and I really don’t see why.
He was bought to score headers, just like Andy Carroll. If Carroll or Chamakh scored zero with their feet we/Liverpool wouldn’t mind because they are both very gifted in the air. Just as Carroll has struggled at Liverpool, Chamakh has struggled at Arsenal because Dalglish and Wenger are too stupid to realise that if you buy a player to score you headers, you have to recognise that you need to put crosses on their head, instead of your usual ploughing-down-the-middle tactic, Liverpool are even more guilty because they at least have wingers who can cross past the first defender (unlike Arsenal)!
Having watched most home games Chamakh has played for us at the Emirates, I can say that his off the ball movement is pretty damn good, he normally makes exactly the right runs, only for Walcott to have tried to carry on dribbling and delaying the cross too long or similar.
Put the man on the pitch and put the ball on his head and he will score. Chamakh is a 10-15 goals per season player in the premier league if you stick him in a proper 4-4-2 and feed him decent crosses IMO.
