Tottenham severely weakened heading into Arsenal clash

Harry has reason to be worried!
The big game this weekend is Arsenal v Tottenham, and for a change it is Arsenal’s opponents that are worried about being able to field a fully-fit team.
These great rivals are locked together in third and fourth in the Premiership, with just goal difference seperating them, but Arsenal have a game in hand, and a win here will cement their place and keep the pressure on Chelsea and Man Utd above them.
Tottenham were having a brilliant start to the season untl last week’s unlikely defeat to Stoke, which could have cost them more than just the three points.
Aaron Lennon, their exciting winger, limped off the field with just a few minutes remaining, and left White Hart Lane with protection over his ankle. Harry Redknapp is not optomistic of his chances of being ready for next weekend. Likewise Jonathon Woodgate, whose had been had been eagerly awaited. He started his first game this season against Stoke, but hardly lasted 15 minutes before being taken off. Redknapp has already ruled him out of Spurs midweek clash in the Carling Cup.
Add to that Jermain Defoe’s suspension for his wild antics against Portsmouth, and Luka Modric’s continuing injury problems, and you can see that ‘Arry is going to be very worried this week.
Even captain Ledley King was laid low this weekend, and can never be counted on to be fit from one week to the next.
Spurs will have Niko Kranjcar around to lob the ball into the box trying to find Peter Crouch’s head, but the Croation admitted that defence will be the important factor in the derby against Arsenal.
“We expect to have loads of possession at White Hart Lane, especially against teams like Stoke who come to defend.” he said.
“We will have much more space against Arsenal, however they will be far more dangerous going forward, so we know we have to defend well against them.”
Arsenal, though, should be in much better shape. Van Persie, Bendtner and Eduardo are all available, with Carlos Vela also trying to force himself into the attack. Thomas Rosicky and even Sami Nasri are also training hard to be available for selection.
Wenger has a full complement of keepers to choose from for a change, and other than Walcott, Denilson and Djourou, he will have an abundance of choices all across the field.
With Arsenal at home and defending their fantastic 100% record at the Emirates this season, Tottenham would have their work cut out even if they had their full team available.
