Toulouse Defender Abdennour Confirms Arsenal’s Interest
Yesterday we brought you the news that Arsenal scouts have been keeping a close eye on Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour. Well today the player himself has backed up those rumours.
Speaking to the Tunisian website Footplus about Arsenal Abdennour said, “It’s true, I’ve heard a lot of talk while I’ve been at Toulouse. They come to watch and scout players. They came to see our last three matches in which I put forward excellent performances for my side.”
So for once the rumours appear to be true, though whether or not we sign Aymen Abdennour remains to be seen, though it does look like we might at this stage, and we don’t need a big win at the casino to pay for him!
Abdennour then went on to say, “My agent, Mr Abdelkader, he’s the one focused on these things. He’s a professional and he always tells me to work hard and whatever is good for me, God will help it through. I need to work and stay focused with my side. We’re going through a good period at Toulouse. God willing, we’ll continue on this path and then hopefully the two sides can come to an agreement. I’m not going to get involved.”
So it definitely looks like we might be signing him in January after reading those words. Lets hope he is another Arsene Wenger inspired signing.
Abdennour finished off his interview with Footplus by saying, “If there’s something good for the player and for Toulouse in me being transferred to a big club like Arsenal then why not? Right now I’m still happy at my club. I want to improve at Toulouse.”
I have no problem with us signing players like this as long as we buy some experienced ones to go with it. Its only October and I am dreading this coming January already!

Word admin. I’m scared the board will consider this signing “top class” when anyone who watches football would adamantly disagree. No offense to this kid, but arsenal need players who can nut up and play right now, not gain more experience. I still think we can get hazard, especially if real land neymar. Get us vert, hazard and surprise the fans with a couple more.

Simple guys, pre agreements with Cahill, M Villa, Gotze, Hazard(?) and Samba. Don’t know much about this guy. Must be BIG players, not almost will be’s or has beens.

Agree with J.Lo comments, Silva would fit Arsenal game the most, If we can’t afford to get him, some players like him will do…don’t give RVP the whole burdens, just let Chamakh or JY Park play at at the front..also, we have the temporary Benayoun, he suit play for Arsenal..he will get better if he stay..and Song I think could be great on defender role..come on, we have plenty of talented players, why wouldn’t we put up something new that’ll suit the players the most ? Give out all the best from them..hopefully their talent couldn’t be a waste at the massive club like Arsenal.
