Transfer rumour suggests Arsenal set to sign young Crewe striker
Crewe Alexandra has long held a reputation for producing lots of talented young players through their academy, and Arsenal could be about to sign the latest hot prospect, striker Max Clayton.
Pat Rice, in his new role as scout for the Gunners, has been watching the 18-year old recently in his league games against Portsmouth and Walsall. Wenger puts a lot of faith in the judgment of his former assistant, and Rice has given Clayton a glowing report, according to Metro.
With other clubs, such as Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United, also keeping track of the player, there is a feeling that Wenger may make a move during the January transfer window. Rumours that Arsenal have already agreed a deal with the Crewe hierarchy have been denied by the manager, Steve Davis.
“I’ve had no enquiries about Max, only people watching, so it’s only a rumour, he’s not ready to go anywhere. When the situation is right, he will leave to go in somebody’s first team.”
The young front man has scored four goals for Crewe this season, but would struggle to get any first team play with the Gunners. He is probably better off playing competitive football every week, but Wenger could be arranging a future deal with Crewe for the player currently valued at around £3 million.

Hmmm…another youngster for future…its okie to buy him…but we also need a DEVELOPED poacher of the ball…somebody like Suarez minus the rotten attitude and diving of course…i wud say get Soldado from valencia,he is a real player, makes very intelligent runs…would cost 20 mil only..

I would happily take him. He looks a great prospect. Lets just hope they get someone who can play for us now as well

If he’s so good why wasn’t he picked up by us before Crewe
got him, we’ve got scouts all over the world and we didn’t
find him! and can he play on the wing before he gets a chance upfront.

Nothing against the kid we will all welcome him to the club but as a prospect not an immediate solution an immediate solution is huntelaar, llorente, falcao etc and is what the fans want and expect.

Another prospect? Is that what we really need? Is it hard to understand that we need a poacher in the likes of llorente or Lopez.
Arsenal fans are the most frustrated fans this days and nobody seems to be doing anything about it.

Lets get navas on loan in january with an option to buy. In that loan we can figure out if he is comfortable leaving sevilla and staying in london. If he isnt comfortable then he can go back and we wont lose any transfer money.

I’d prefere getting the experienced ones first and later add on the young ones to understudy them, sincerely my choice of players this jan will be of each pair……a striker(llorente or Adrain Lopez )…….a play maker/winger(Jesus Navas or Isco).dream come through

AFC is full of young talent. Not saying we shouldn’t sign him, but what about every other young forward we have who needs time playing, and to develop? (Gnabry and Akpom spring to mind). Meanwhile, we don’t have more than Giroud as our main forward for our first team. As said above – Priorities! We need another proven striker up front.

Another exercise to breed players to sell when they are ripe to bear fruits for arsenal. “Arsenal Football Academy” I am tired of reading about interest in youngsters, we need established, tested and trusted proffessionals like Llorente, Falcao etc for the immediate plan.

Enough of these young signings…. We have enough youngsters to make 2-3 reserve teams!!! We have 70m to spend…. spend on something special…. a proven and established talent in football.

Yup we should sign him asap, i mean in jan. He’s a quality young talent.
And im damn sure he’d bought only for future, wenger would purchase an experienced poacher.
Soldado plz….

I Have been Watching Live Matches 2 scout players. [ No Youtube Scouting].
1. Isco- Many called him the Next Fabregas .So i have been Watching him. Sorry 2 break the Bubble , He is Not. Speed – same as fab[ not very fast], Passing – Good [ Fabregas is way better]. Dribbling- Slightly better than fab. Loses the ball in key areas. finishing – same as Fabregas. We dont need him.
2. Jesus Navas- Very Good Crosser , Fast [ Not Speed Demon as everyone calls him], ok Dribbler , good passer , Not one touch football player. Good for Arsenal , but there r better players available.
3.Adrian Lopez- Cant see him much, but looks slightly better than giroud . Considering Giroud Adaptation Time,so both same points.
4. Loic Remy- People call him Next Henry . My question is have those people seen henry Play?? He is very Fast, cool and composed with ball, decent dribbler and ok finisher .Better than Chamack, bentner any day and looks 2 me slightly better than giroud and way faster than giroud. Typical Wenger buy.
5. Marco Reus- Very Impressive . very Fast, very good Finisher, good dribbler and good passer . We should have bought him before BD.
6. Holtby- Very fast, good passing , ok dribbler and good crosser , ok finishing. he should be our target compare to isco and navas.
7.Ba- we all know abt him. decent buy, but i would prefer remy.
8. Llorente- please no , lazy striker, very good Finisher. we dont need him.
9. Cabye- awesome player , similar style of Arteta but faster than him. would be awesome buy. but our midfeild is jam packed.
10. Falcao- Dream striker
my Buy will be:
reus and Falcao. But being Realistic holtby and Remy.

@bunmilee
So agree, but then, that’s the Arsenal Business Model. Make money from turning young players into multi million assets you then sell on for big bucks. I’m afraid we all need to get used to it, because as long as Kronke is boss, and Gazidis is milking this cash cow (under the disguise of “self sustaining model”) then we will continue to buy them young and sell them off just when they come good and add quality to the club.
