Van Persie back in training and set for early return!
Arsene Wenger has received a tremendous boost this week with the news that Robin Van Persie has made rapid improvement after the operation on his ankle, and is now expected to be able to help the team in the crucial latter stages of the season.
The Mail today reports that Van Persie’s Dutch medical team has revised his expected return date to just seven weeks time. It seems that he is now walking freely and has resumed light training as he attempts to build his strength back up. It was originally thought that the Dutch international would be lucky to take any more part in Arsenal’s season but this news will help vindicate Arsene Wenger’s decision not to buy another striker this month.
The Frenchman said yesterday that he WOULD have bought another front man, if he thought that there was a good enough target to make a bid for. The Mail reported that Wenger has £30m to spend, if he wanted to, but just cannot find the right class of player.
“It is not only about wanting to buy, it is to find better players than what you have available and we haven’t until now.” said Wenger. “It is as simple as that. You always want to add a Ronaldo if you can, but is he available and where is he?”
“Marouane Chamakh is not available because he is playing with Bordeaux and Bordeaux don’t want to release him. David Villa as well, Valencia don’t want to let him go.”
“I believe as well the extra push can come within the Club and the easy solution is always to look outside. When you look deeply at what is happening to us, we have the best attack in the League; we scored more goals than anybody else. That means at least if you can do that for the first 20 or 21 games, why not in the other 18?”
Arsenal rumours Jan 30th – Sagna, Chamakh, Wilshere and Loic Remy
Ferguson – Wenger doesn’t really believe that Fletcher is a dirty player!
Arsenal v Man Utd to be broadcast in 3D!
Bendtner returns and Wenger won’t be buying a striker
Wenger – The title could be won on goal difference

Imagine if he has been available all thru. He would defintely be competing for the highest goals scorer, up there with Rooney and others.

7 weeks to LATE! Why not just buy a strong enough striker? That there isn’t any good enough is an insult to the fans and other top players who are definitely available for the right price…Andre Pierre Gignac is available, at the right price, Jermaine Beckford can come in to do a good enough job, comparable to Defoe or Bent, so many….just use different words if you aren’t gonna sign Wenger! Say we won’t pay the wages most of them are asking or we won’t pay the transfer fee. Simple.

dont kid yourself people….the result against man united was expected yday! How long could we go on for without a specialist striker??? And Wenger is still adamant that his current squad is adequate! He keeps insisting that we are the highest goalscorers in the EPL but can some1 plz tell us how many goals we’ve scored since VP’s injury???? That will be an interesting statistic…
Bottom line is, a specialist striker (not bendtner) is desperately needed to avoid crucifixion at stamford bridge next week.
Unless Wenger is planning for a 3rd spot finish, which I think he is because we are not winning anything with the current crop of players.

Guys last season we had fabregas coming back from injury “and it was like a new signing” what happened we were chucked from the FA cup the CL and out of the league before we could say OMG…it takes a robot ot be repaired and back to functionality immediately Eduardo is a great player but how long has it taken him to come back to his full potential?this is normal…so even RVP it will take him some time before we see the RVP of August….so yet again the song of next season will pop up!look what happened on sunday soon as eboue and walcott came in we saw something from the right..and our goalie my goodness does he know whaich team he is playing for?please wenger give mannone another chance fabianski also seems like there is something disturbing his head..and denilson gave away 2 GOALS yesterday…we need serious serious prayers…apparently arshavin is playing with pain……

van Persie and Fabregas playing together was a thing of beauty. Remember the first game against Everton? Those first couple months? They’d combined for 17 Premiership goals by the time van Persie was injured in the 12th (?) game. Even better, van Persie’s ability to play hold-up meant that Arsene could start both Song and Denilson to close down the midfield. Stellar stuff.

AW uses Arsenal as body shop, developes youngters and sell them higher prices, and make money for owners. You fans should just suck your candy and watch clubs like MU, Chelsea win trophies!!!!. After all there is next year to keep you people busy. He fooled us the past 3 years, and he will do it the next few years. Arsenal is now a dream of the past!!! as long as Asene knows it all Wenger is in charge

Gallas and thomas V are not strikers. they should always remain in their positions all the time to avoid another humiliation by Chelsea this week. BUY A NEW STRIKER AND DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER.

ARSENE WENGER should check all the goals scored by CHELSEA last time and MAN UTD. last week. the backline (backfour) shoud watch out. they shouldnt go beyond the centreline. the midfielders should always support the defenders.

I say well done to all the boys that have carried the team thus far. They all played very well to keep 3rd spot. And they still have a great chance of winning the league. It may seem far fetched, but they can do it. they just need to stay confident, believe in the talents they have, and get on with. I agree that Manone should also be give another chance. Given regular games, he can be a star. We have great potential in the Arsenal squad, and once all the issues/injuries are all done with, they will be a great team to beat. “ARSENAL ALLL THE WAY”
“And did those boots of Arsenal’s team
Walk upon Highbury’s turf so green?
And did they play with great esteem
The best football we’ve ever seen?
And with a cannon on our chest
