Van Persie gives Arsenal fans hope of contract extension
The talismanic Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie has refused to resume his contracts talks with the Gunners until the end of the season, but when directly asked in an interview if he would give Arsenal fans what they want when they keep shouting for him to re-sign.
“It is the biggest compliment I could wish for.” He replied. “Arsenal fans are real lovers of the game. They don’t miss anything in the stadium and are there for the team and the individual players. I have to admit I love banners like ‘We don’t need Batman, we’ve got Robin’ and stuff like that.
“I also love it when I run on to the pitch and I hear the entire crowd roar. What bigger compliment could I wish for as player?
“At Arsenal, the fans so want me to do well. And that gives me a kick. That’s what I do it for. As a thank you, I want to give them so much in return on the pitch.’’
“English people are great to be with, and I find life absolute fun here in London. I see how my kids, (son and daughter) pick up the culture, the manners and values of England. They make me melt sometimes when I see how they are here in London.
“When my son Shaqueel has half-term, he doesn’t even want to go back to Holland. He wants to be here with his friends. The place where we live is brilliant. Great restaurants and a beautiful park outside our house.
“I also appreciate that I can walk and move in London in a relaxed way. People don’t jump on me in the area where I live. Well, sometimes. This week I went 10-pin bowling with my son and things got a bit out of hand with the kids, but that was fun too.”
That sounds like a player that has no wish to up sticks and move to another city (or country!) and he would first have to win an argument with his kids!

What a Loyal Man very family oriented and also Arsenal Lover. Mr Wenger please sign some classic player he really wants to win the Trophy for him being a Captain and bringing Tropy would be classic.
He loves the club and wants to do for the club and the fans therefore give me what he wants.

Give him what he wants, increase his pay, lock him away for another 4 years and all parties are happy.
I’m disappointed hearing Walcott’s demands as he’s not worth as much as Van Persie. The boy needs to give more to the club before he starts making demands like a petulant child. All understandable as each player should be paid his worth, but to ask for 85K a week from 60K is a greedy ask. Maybe his agent is the one pushing him to do it. Regardless Walcott is worth 60K a week to me.

We have all seen RvP when things were not going well. Funny enough only recently since Fabregas and Nasri are gone has he shone and played so well. I’m am so happy for him that he now holds the most league goals scored in a calendar year for Arsenal. When he plays you can see the determination and enthusiasm, not scared to shoot and take a chance. He looks like a different player than he did 2 seasons ago. He has a winners mentality and as the skipper that is vital in winning games. The board need to realize this and make him feel even more comfortable at the Emirates. The fans are doing their bit, he knows how much he is loved and respected by us, now the board must do their part.
Make damn sure he extends his contract because I have been snooping around on the Man City forums and websites and it seems like Mancini is going to make an almost irrefusable offer. No doubt after him almost breaking Shearer’s record we will have the likes of Madrid, maybe even Barca interested. Also, Wenger needs to sign one or two world class players to show him that we are serious in winning titles. Gotze and Podolski PLEASE. Vertonghen or Samba would also be a very very welcome addition.

His way by not signing a new contract has woken up Arsene and the whole team. the team is proving themselves to RVP that they are ambitious and will win trophies, that is what RVP is looking for in a team. This shows that RVP is proud with the progression in AFC so far and HE WILL sign A new contract soon.

The Arsenal board continue to refuse to increase the wage scale. If they’re not being paid competitively, the players will have no choice but to leave. Sadly, I think, everyone in the club is aware of this. It’s why Nasri and Clichy left, it’s why Arsene had to settle for Arteta and Santos as replacements, and its why only the Arsenal players have such long, protracted contract negotiations with so much haggling over price.
If the board wants to pay their players on a mid-table salary scale, that’s both the team and the performances we’ll get, sadly.

This all sounds like positive stuff for once finally some good news starting to come out of Arsenal ,, just give the man AT LEAST a £150,000 a week to keep him , we know he knows and the board all know that he more than deserves , he also knows that he can get almost double that anywhere else but he just wants Arsenal to recognise all he has done for the club , just give him more simple as !!!!

Rvp is such a show case player to the world how you should carry your self.and what a true wold class player he is the way speaks with such passion about the fans and this counrty. Im quite sure he meams to stay and leave his mark at arsenal as the true legend he is. So the board needs to do what ever it takes to keep him
