Van Persie – The Ox has everything but be patient with him
Robin Van Persie scored a hat-trick and gave three other assists in the 7-1 win over Blackburn this weekend, but the teamwork amongst him, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was a joy to watch as they terrorized the Rovers defence.
The Ox was starting his fourth game in a row for Arsenal and Van Persie couldn’t hide his admiration for the 18 year-old, but urged patience as he can’t always play at the top of his game.
The Dutchman said: “It’s always good to have a good mixture of young talents, experienced players and I really like him,”
“He is a fantastic player already, he’s only 18 and is so young. He’s good on the ball, he has everything.
“Alex is quick, has movement and technique. He can score a goal, give an assist. He has a great future.
“In the future he can make the England team, definitely. He’s a big prospect. Everyone is enjoying watching him, I do, you do and he brings something extra to the game and people just love it.
“Don’t put too much pressure on him. You always have periods when you are young when you have really high highs and you go up and down until you balance it a bit better.
“He will have ups and will have periods when he’s not playing so well. So my advice is to be aware of it and be patient.
“It reminds me of my own period when I was breaking through and was 18 or 19.
“When you have all these qualities then it gives you confidence and you can enjoy yourself.
“He’s not someone who thinks about negatives, just positives and you can enjoy the game like that.”
That is high praise from the best striker in Europe at the moment, and it augurs well for the future. But Robin is right to advise patience. Look at how much promise Theo Walcott showed, but in the end he still became inconsistent.
But Oxlade-Chamberlain is already looking stronger and more focused than Walcott is even now. He has just about everything to make it in the Premier League, and is very level-headed too……

Stop the comparison between Ox and Theo!! the similarities stopped at transfer from Southampton that’s about it…. It’s better for the club and both the players

I hope Oxe is able to develop in a similar way to Wilshere (Minus being injured for a season). Wilshere was able to quietly develop and break into the England squad. He has passed that hurdle of fans saying he’s a prospect, into a player who is regarded as top quality by fans and players alike.
This is where Walcott has failed, fans still say he can become great. By now Walcott should be great, but cannot deliver on the hype and potential fans instil upon him.
Once Gervinho returns, this can only help Oxe go about his business behind the spotlight. One thing is certain though, and thats the potential the Oxe is showing now is greater than that shown by Walcott when he was 18.

used to have a lot of faith in Theo, but now more often you see him complaining to ref in the pitch. why? IMO, he critizes others rather than himself which stops him improving. hope i am wrong.

Patiency pays, Ox will be our Messi very soon. He has started showing the skills of messing up the opponent. Am wishing him best of luck in comming matches expecially Sunderland. Good comment from the captain RVP

The ox plays a bit like the one n only Messi, he dribble, assist, n has the eye for goals… he may really be the revelation of the new generation, he surely is !
i only hope he is not using arsenal for jumping on bigger platforms, he is a priceless asset !

The biggest difference between Theo and The Ox is: The Ox (in his current form) deserves £85000 a week and Theo(in his current form) doesnt.
The reason is because i see Walcott complain way to often on the field when HIS passes dont connect with a player. He makes it seem like he is “above” the other Arsenal players. PLUS if he gets his £85000 now, then in 3 years time he is just going to demand more money, then the club will be forced to sell him before his prime.
Lets not forget Gervinho guys, him and The Ox would be just as good/better than Ox and Theo.

ox is already better than, walcott, walcott runs around like a headless chicken, with no direction, ox gets the ball wants the ball and makes things happen with the ball, when gervhino returns they should play with rvp ox and gervhino. every defence will be worried and mesmerised ,by these 3 players coming at them with skill. pace and deadly finishing.lets hope the 7-1 was not just a one off, we can go to sunderland, with expectations high. and full of confidense, as long as wenger plays his full strength team, and not rest any one for the milan match, we should be at full strength in both games no hiding or wrapping in cotton wool, its the only way forward if we want to have success even this season with the fa cup, i believe the cl. and 4th palce will be extremely hard , but hopefully if he keeps this squad and buys 4-5 players in the summer,to strengthen the squad we could be successful on all fronts next season, ARSENAL REBORN,

I really congratulate Wenger for sporting this talented young boy whon when he was signed sammer; AW was widely insulted by fans calling him fool and asking why he brings kids who can not help the club to win titles insteady of buying big name like Hazard, Mata who by then refused to join us. There you are, Ox proved that Wenger is great manager and super coach who can spot talents.
I request my fellow much -know fans who boosed Wenger last week when he brought in board a new talent from Borussia Dortmond. I advice you to stop critising AW for every thing.
The man Morinho whom you wish to come is nothing to wenger for many things; that is why Chelsea owner refused to take him back bcz he can not make change whether develop talent and tich attracrtive footbal that really add value to fans pay. He only knows to purchase and spending big money for big name.
Morinho can not stay with a team fo moo than three season which proves that he is not a reliable and very successful coach. I tell u my friends in england there are only two compentent coaches, Sir Alex Furgason and Professor Arsen Wenger; their records certify they compentence.
Ox is super and our future prospect but Wenger is superior; prove me wrong…!

to be fair to theo he did well against blackburn,could be with the ox having an immediate impact,theo has realised he”s got to raise his game!wenger will be tempted to rest the ox and play gervinho, i hope not, play the man in form!

Hello All,
What a performance, skill, pace and finishing ability. Also did anyone else notice how well the ox compliments theo. A front three of The OX, VP and THEO all on form would terrify ANY defence…..In the world. I really think it is the way forward, bearing in mind i have been theos biggest critic but when he is on form coupled with the OX and VP oh boy.

I do hope that Ox can be our savior this season.. yet again it is all at the manager’s hand, not the fans…and what i can see in the last match against blackburn, we actually do have a decent first 11.. and maybe (just maybe) rosicky play a better football than ramsey. He is aggresive both on attacking and defensive role…what do you guys think?

Simey barr- what are you trying to say? When do we ever have our first eleven fit. If we miss out on the Champions League – Van Persie will understandably be off too. And lets not be calling Chamberlain the new Messi just yet- that kind of thing never helped Walcott (the new Henry) did it?

i believe ramsey has been our problem in d mid-field. he is never serios always turning around wit d ball without any sense of urgency. rosisky on d other hand is more business like and definitely better. as for d ox i knew when wenger was going for him and at that same time man u and liverpool were after him. it was then i knew he is good player. so im not surprised.

ox is different. Remember he said i am not theo and dnt compare me to him. Read the lines and you know what he means. He mean dat theo is not up to him, that he is better than theo. Lets start comparing him with somebody better and guess what!! He will say lol. It is a pleasure.

i think both of them are equally good….but the difference is clear …what i mean is that OX is a skillful, & strong player….but walcott isn’t that skill…..
yes on the other hands walcott has speed than him….both are good.
BUT for RAMSEY .. i think he’s the problem in that midfield …take a look at what an experience ROSICKY does last week…
i wonder why wenger keep benching ROSICKY instead of bringing RAMSEY to the second half…i think that is good if wenger really need to win a match…..
