Van Persie to get new contract and pay rise (Just like Nasri last year!)

Posted on October 11, 2011 by admin

This years events with Robin Van Persie is becoming eerily similar to the Samir Nasri saga of last season. It started off with Wenger announcing that he was going to tie down his existing Arsenal players to longer contracts with increased wages.

Then, just like Nasri, Van Persie announced that he didn’t like the idea of discussing his contract until the summer and he has said “I don’t know what will happen”. And now Arsenal have let it be known that they are going to increase van Persie’s wages to 90,000 Pounds a week (from 70,000) to persuade him to stay.

Just like the Nasri situation, we are all more than aware that the Dutch international can earn much, much more than that if he leaves the Emirates for pastures new, especially if he goes to Manchester City (again like Nasri!)

The only big break from tradition for Arsenal is the fact that they have revealed that they are willing to give the 28 year-old a four-year deal, which will give him security until the age of 32, something that Wenger has rarely agreed to in the past.

I guess in Van Persie’s case he could easily go on that long as he has rarely played a full season since his arrival at Arsenal, so is less likely to be knackered or burnt out like many players of his age, and of course he doesn’t drink and keeps himself supremely fit.

I would like to think that Arsenal would go a little higher in their wage offer, because a fit van Persie should really have been earning 100,000 a week for the last three years.

Perhaps van Persie (like Nasri) doesn’t feel that he has been appreciated as much as he feels he deserves…

this site is becoming “eerily similar” to other sites that just like to instill more worry and uncertainty into the minds of Arsenal fans…I hate all this negativity and pessimism. It’s time to buck up and act like we’ve got the stones to get through these rough seas, instead of quivering like ninnies and letting the waves of bullshit rumors wash us overboard.

All this talks about RVP contracts started when IVAN G decided that Champion League is not a priority..
That is why your star player wants to get out….
One of his conditions in his contracts should be,buy more proven players and qualify for champion league every year

Every player has the right to demand for what he thinks he deserves from his club (in proportion to his qualities and contribution), particularly when it is obvious to all how good such a player is. Who works hard and never expects improved remuneration?
Please, dear fans, lets stop crucifying our players for asking for benefits they believe they are entitled to, particularly when we all know they have worked hard enough. Besides, players really need trophies to their names and Arsenal, for now, does not seem capable of winning any.
However, troubles don’t last forever. Better days shall come. I shall continually be optimistic, so should you.

There was a time when clubs management called the shots and I guess some abused their power so the role was reversed but that doesn`t work either. Players hold clubs to ransom ( or at least the agents do) and contracts are worthless.
Unfortunately the FA is a toothless tiger and can not be trusted to be an arbitrator. The end result is we are always in the `transfer mode` because we don`t know what tomorrow holds. Sad, isn`t it?

Loosing van is the end of all good at arsenal and we cant replace him with some one better and more loyal than him its not a question of loyality its about winning some thing he cant just say to his kids ive been such a good servant for arsenal and i didnt win the epl title when he retires
we have to spend in january to keep him and deserves more than 90k(clichy earns)

I have confidence that Van Persie will extent his contract because of his love to the club. He won’t mind those money flashes . Arsenal till i die.

I reckon he is gone… His closest allies are gone, in Fabregas and Clichy… also there is the math… On a 40 hour a week basis AFC can offer him max. GBP2250 per hour, whereas Man City can offer something like GBP4625 per hour… i mean c’mon, if you were offered an 105% increase in your hourly wage to perform the same task with a different employer, i reckon you would take it instantly!! Van Persie has been loyal, and a very good player for AFC… unfortunately AFC can no longer match what other clubs are prepared to pay for his services, and also the ambiton of these clubs… hate to say it, though i think he already has one foot out of the door… apparently his house is up for sale also – perhaps a January exit… it would take a huge wage rise, and big money signings for him to stay… both of these are very unlikely…

Why do people have the impression that VP doesn’t like money? Unless arsenal makes some serious investment in talented players, VP will leave. I’m talking of players like Hazard, Gotze, Cahil, Schweintenger & co. He’ll also leave if we end this season as miserably as we ended the last one. Don’t say I didn’t tell ya!

We have to change our wage policy. Arsenal has to adapt to a better wage policy or get left behind…
From a player’s perspective…VP has seen all his close footballing friends/team mates leave the club…What will he do? he is 28…does he have anymore reason to stay?

van persie MINNIMUM should be getting 120,000 n this just proves Gazidis iS FULL OF SH#T, “we don’t have a wage barrier, don’t know where that story comes from” my black ass, okay so tell him how when dien was with arsenal, henry was getting paid 200,000 a week at the age of 30 n with u, Van persie who has been playing like henry is being paid 70,000 a week at the age of 28? n more importantly diaby is getting 50,000+ (medical expenses for free) a week when he plays 10% a season n he isn’t half as useful as van persie, wat’s more distressful is denilson earns the same amount!!!, PLZ gooners gazidids is running arsenal 2 play in the championship rather than calling 4 arsene’s head in the sunderland game call 4 gazidis’s head

    GOONER TILL I DIE

Nah i dont think vpersie is in it for the money i mean he earned already more than i will in my entire life ,these players are millionares ,but vpersie wants to play at the highest level i mean when he came there were players like henry bergkamp etc. and now 4th place is not even in sight so i think he will wait until the end of the season ,

if we place CL hell sign if not hell leave i can tell you that ,, we need to sign in the winter good players if we show no ambition than how the big players get excited?

I still repeat as i do says as related to Robin Van Persie issues, he deserve experience assistant co worker like hazard to the emirate and even money, just to let him feel happy and to show that Arsenal have better plan for him and for the club. And related to goal keeper issues, Szczeny is ok, better and i have hope in him than any goal kepper for Arsenal. As a young talented goal keeper szczeny is all better. Up Gunners.

  21. The Don says:

ermm to the peole that say we have to many wingers…..erm we only have gervinho and walcott our good enuff.

the rest are just not good enuff how many more games do we need to wait and see for arshavin and alex is to young for us to hope for him to change games.

we need to get rid of a few more players
denilson and bender vela they all arsenal players that simpley dont cut it.

    lets say.

    players that should leave,

diaby – free….been at the club for good knows aint seen him play more then 3 games in a row nice to no we pay for his hospital treatment every week.

    rosicky – 5 mill
    arshavin – 10 mill
    chamak – 10 mill
    bender – 12 mill
    denlison – 3 mill
    douru – 3 mill
    suwillaci- free
    vela – 4 mill

now thats what 9 players who get paid and do nothing for the club apart from take a space. those players need to go i rather give chances to alex and ryo then arshavin and bender.

lets say we get 40-50 mill for those 9 players.

with us stilllllll having money from the sale of nasri and fab and with also a budget that i dont think wenger has ever used

we should have over 80 million to spend.

i rather we sell 9 waste of space players and bring in 4 gooood players that can change games.

with 80 million am sure we could bring in 4-5 players

    hazard..25
    m villa..20
    goetz…30

= thats 75 million.. we need world class players in the club if we dont make CL we will be re-bulding the team for years to come look at liverpool they have spend like 100 million to try and get back at the top

i dont think the board at the club are stupid to think we have be a great team with sqaud we have..even letting 3 fist team players leave.

  22. Van Perse needs more pay than many players in the EPL. He is a world class striker and possibly the best in England. He needs to stay longer at Asernal because he will give the young players courage and guidance. I suggest he can be given £120,000 a week so that he stays and he the rebulding of Asernal. Gooners do not loose hope this season we shall win a trophy though not the EPL. KEEP THE FAITH.

i think that VANPERSIE is trying to stay more longer in arsenal, if he’s wages is ok and wenger sign quality players as well that can pair with him, as well play with him.
so why thinking over the issue right now, we have to focuse on the little star we have right , so i don’t see any big deal on this issue.
why not pay him what he really want?
remember that’s exactly what happen to nsri that made him go to MANCHESTER-CITY today, assuming wenger listen to his offer then will wouldm’t have sufferring over players now .
but is because of this issue that brought up now,.
but try to b=get VENTROGHEN, MARVIN-MARTIN,GOUCOUFF,GOTZE,BENZEMA/SAHA/SOLDADO/BEST/LOVE/OSAZE/WELLBACK/.

I beleive i speak for a growing number of Arsenal fans when i say i’m tired of all this off the field speculation and critiscism. Haters will always talk and they will take every opportunity to make a story out of nothing. My position is simple, we are rebuilding the team and i wont get drawn into media speculation.

  26. All ds claims of media speculation is not only ridiculous but actually beginn to bore me!For crying out loud what is speculatn here,
    RVP’s salary is currently 70,000/wk–FACT!
    Nasri’s salary is 180,000/wk–FACT!
    RVP’s Age is 28-29yrs–FACT!
Thiery Henry’s Salary b4 he left Arsenal was 200,000/wk–FACT (well documented)
AND WE ALL FCN KNOW ARSENAL WILL NOT 2BLE RVP’s SALARY,BUT MANC WILL!–FACT!
So where’s de speculations here,or does any HUMAN really blvs dat any person in his rt frame of mind will NOT go out for what his piers are getting elsewhere?I jst dont get it,hello are we leaving in de same world?
RVP will want 2 live hopefully for abt 90-100yrs b4 his death! So for me his decision will not be as complicated as some of ur here thnk! With 40-50 more yrs after retiremnt he’ll be thnkn of wat he’ll be living on wth his family for ALL THOSE FCN YRS AFTER RETIREMENT!
    Manc…here I come!RVP

Ok, our captain taking home 70k a week is outrageous whichever angle one looks at it!Promising an additional 20k to a player the calibre of van Persie is an insult to the man himself and Arsenal fans in general! We’ve been there b4 n i must admit i feel sorry for RvP coz initially i thought greed was the driving force behind his coyness! How do the managers at The Emirates expect our players to be motivated enough to give their best when already a discrepancy exists compared to their opponents? The swagger that comes with better pay will clearly show on the field of play!No wonder players from smaller clubs are no longer awed playing against us! A good deal in the region of 180k should be ok for RvP!!!

Van Persie will sign new contract , he is not motivated by money .He has Arsenal in his blood as he once said himself before. Even if does decide that he wants to play somewhere else i garuntee it it will not not be Man Shity or any other team in England , Inter i think would be the likely choice .
