Vela is in demand and Nasri and Bendtner are close to Arsenal exit

Posted on August 09, 2011 by admin

As the Premier League opening games draw nearer there certainly seems to be some movement in the Arsenal transfer market. The arrival of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain surprised nobody but it seems that Arsene Wenger will quickly recoup his expenditure when Samir Nasri joins Manchester City.

For a manager that hates paying over the odds for great players, Wenger conversely loves squeezing extra money out of anyone that buys an Arsenal player, and he usually gets his way when it comes to moneybags Man City.

Having paid enormous amounts for Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor in the past, Man City are now trying to get Samir Nasri for £22m this summer but of course Wenger is trying to extract another couple of the Sheikhs millions to swell the Arsenal coffers.

Meanwhile it seems that Nicklas Bendtner may finally be close to sealing his desperately-wanted exit from the Emirates (huge sigh of relief). He refuses to name the interested parties but the rumours are saying Stoke City, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon are in the hunt.

Bendtner implied that he had found the interested club, and now it was up to the Gunners to agree the price with ????? He said yesterday: “Yes. I have done my part as well as I can and it’s up to Arsenal now to sort it out, I can’t do anything more.

“Hopefully it will be sorted soon but as I said to the Danish press, when I know something they will.

“I would like to play at a place where you are happy and play every week, that is the most important thing for any football player and hopefully that will happen soon.”

When specifically asked if he was talking to Stoke he replied: “I can’t say anything about who I have been speaking to, but hopefully it will all get sorted out soon.”

So it is probably Stoke then……

It is possible that Carlos Vela will get his long-awaited promotion to fourth-choice striker once Bendtner has gone, but it seems more likely that he will be spending yet another season out on loan. Real Sociedad, Galatasary and Real Zaragoza have al been linked with a move for the 22 year-old Mexican, but today its being reported that the Ligue 1 side Lorient are hoping that Wenger will let him move to France for a year.

But then again, his agent, Eduardo Hernandez, said just this week: “The recent rumours in the media are false, Vela will not leave Arsenal. I had eight meetings with the club officials recently and they clearly told me that Vela is not for sale”.

Could he just have been playing with his words? I mean Vela could easily still go out on loan without being “for sale” or “leaving Arsenal”……

If cesc Nasri bender vela and eboue leave we need to ensure we signing replacements for two if not 3 of them. It’s important to do business now the delay so far means we could quite possibly be out of any title or champions league competition in three weeks time. Nasri is an utter disgrace and should be held in the same regards as cashly ahole to turn down 120 grand a week and alledge he hasn’t been tapped up is utter BS. Where will he play for city?

Wenger played Flamini out of position at left back. Result: he left.
Wenger plays Nasri out of position at left mid. Result: he’ll leave.
Wenger plays Vela out of position at left wing. Result: he’ll leave.
Wenger plays Bentdner out of position at right wing. Result: he’ll leave.
Wenger plays Walcott out of position at right wing: Result: generally poor performances.

Wenger has no ability to manage my team anymore and should either go upstairs as Director of Football or leave.

How can a player dream of that? Without trying to win it all with their club..why did they joint at first if they are not to give all of their hearts to Arsenal… Nasri and Cesic learn ur lesson from henry, helb n viera who lost all of their pride else where..they will be dreaming of their times at Arsenal where they play a beautiful game.

Same happened last season everyone moaning, writing us off and we were closer again than the season before, granted we didnt lose our 2 best players but lets not forget wilshere is better than fabregas was at that age and ramsey was infront of wilshere in the pecking order until his broken leg, Vermealen back, schezny is a great keeper, song has improved every season, a fit van persie, its like getting 6 new players, Ramsey, Verm, Ryo, Gervinho, Oxlade, Jenkinson, a quality centre back and a left back for cover and we wont be far off, and if wenger wants to splash the cash 35m for mata would be my choice. same happens every season and we just need that last push and we’ll be fighting for trophies again.

Wenger is right to sell Nasri- he played well for the opening six months of the season but is one of the players that when the going gets tough, cannot stand up and lead the team. If he were to get injured this season, everyone would be saying ‘why the hell didn’t we sell him when we could’ and we would lose out on £25mil. Common sense to me. the frustration is that the money will not be re-invested in super quality but 17 year olds from league one. As for Fabregas- the club can afford to play hardball with him. I think they will reluctantly let him go but again if it is for £40mil then it’s not a bad piece of business for a player so desperate to leave he is willing to pay his own transfer fee! The frustration here is that Wenger will not buy a replacement but promote Ramsey based on one game vs. United last season. I can’t wait for the recycled quote from Wenger that he will give us which is ‘signing another player will hinder Ramsey’s development’- just as he did when he sold Clichy and replaced him with another kid with potential. I don’t believe Wenger should go- i think he’s a good manager but I think someone in the boardroom needs to put more pressure on him to sign better quality players instead of lining their pockets. when we lose £17mil for not qualifying for the champions league, maybe then they’ll listen to the fans!

i hope we can sort out the Nasri and Cesc issues asap. we are hung there and can do nothing on the transfer, other than defensive players. Should we sign big name replacement for them? what if they stay? we have no money to sign big name players if they stay. Anyway, nobody is bigger than the clubs, those who want to leave, just leave, and leave us some good fund as well. i would rather have a grade A- player to play for us with 100% commitment than a grade A+ player with his heart else where.

  14. Asernal is not dead as people believe. It is still a strong team and you will see it when the season begins. People who watched Manchester city play in the community sheild saw how it is still mechanical and still lacks alot. As for FABREGAS if he goes he may regret his move. Nasiri is still young and needs to stay in Asernal otherwise he may regret like Adibayo. Asernal can not be religated. It will remain among the top four. Ibet it will win at least a trophy this season. Asernal funs stay cool. Clubs which buy very expensive players do not stay strong for long. YOU know them.

Nasri is leaving our club due to lack of ambition!! Nasri stated himself that he was willing to sign a contract extension midway through last season but nobody approached him, why was he not approached?? This is negligent in the part of management, these kind of mistakes are becoming familiar with Wenger!! To make matters worse he’s going to replace a world class player like Nasri with a 17 year old unproven kid and at the same time put money in the packets of the greedy shear holders, every ones happy, EXPECT FO US FANS!! WENGER MUST BE SACKED ASAP!!

Nasri should be replaced by Douglas costa of shaktar.
Cesc will have his spot filled by jack. Please get rid of squal
and bring in Cahill/mertersaker (who allegedly wants a PL move)
or vertongen. We desperately need cover for v. Persie bc chamakh
has not yet adjusted to the league. Go for p. Cisse of friedburg,
leandro dimoa out of brazil, or k. Huntelaar from s04. These players
would provide real depth, and not crumble and concede when put on
    the pitch.

    Douglas costa – 18-20 mil
    Mertersaker – 10-14 mil
    P. Cisse – 12-15 mil

That leaves the board with what they initially invested, 40-50 mil. We all

@Baz you make a lot of noise without substance to it. I like to see you sack AW. Do you have any idea what it takes to manage in any capacity. You do not sack someone that has managed to keep you at the top with very limited funds from the club. On what grounds would he be sacked? Underachieving is it? He is not an underachiever with the funds available to him. Top 4 finish in the last 6 years and helping the club to maintain a very healthy financial stand and not on the verge of going into Administration like some clubs (Manure if not careful).
Do you intend to bring another manager who would spend so much money and still not deliver. Chelsea spend over 50 million last year but did not win the PL nor CL. Success is not guaranteed based on how much you spend (Mancity another ex). we shall wait and see when the season starts where Arsenal currently stand. Ian Wright should shut up as well he was very critical of Arsenal last season as well then turnaround when the team was beating every opposition until Feb 2011. @Baz go and look for something to do and stop screaming about AW getting the sack. I doubt you’ve ever hold a stable job yourself. You won’t be here every minute looking for something neg to say about AW. Either u like it or not he is doing his job and i can’t wait to see what little surprise he has for the club in regards to further signings. Enough complaining on this site it was the same last season. It’s like u lot are helping the players make up their mind about living the club when they haven’t come out and say anything. I like to see the back of any player that is not loyal to the club and replace them with the kids Manure did it in the CS and came back from 2-0 down to beat the so called big spender CITY. LOL

Wenger was a great manager, he did well with limited resources a long time ago, at present we are one of the richest clubs in the world with a war chest of over 40 million but still he refuses to buy!! Wenger should be SACKED ON THE GROUNDS OF failing to win silverware for 6 seasons, for continuing to use failed systems, floored tactics, for not seeing what the world can, not buying quality players for the positions we most need them in eg CB’s LB DM GK ST!! For tuning our club into a academy for the likes of baca and city, he lies to us, he makes false promises, he buys bargain basement players, do u really want me to carry on?? We need a manger who can see a clear picture, get rid of the dead wood who he owes nothing to and buy the right players for the right positions, this will not cost 50 or 60 million so don’t give us that pro Wenger sh#t pal!!! I’m not a looser but you all talk like loosers because if you can’t tell the difference btw gold and silver then u must be a looser. You compare 40m of Arsenal to the endless resourses of Man City and Chelski. Mancity bought one player which is worth almost our transfer budget. I ask you lot again has liverpool not spent more than 40m??? The price of 2 average players bought by liverpool is worth Arsenal’s transfer budget. Am not finished, lets come down to wages; Arsenal’s highest paid is 110,000 wk compared to Man Utd, Chelski, Man City even Liverpool. You lot think with your Ass not your head. You should direct your Anger at the Board that’s only concerned about profit sharing and not the manager trying to get bargains on a misery budget. @Baz i don’t care what u and your fellow anti AW says; this whole **** about AKB’s you rust. If your country is going to the dogs and your government is to blame won’t you criticize it? By criticizing it does it mean that you are actually against your country?

I think it’s the same situation here, Arsenal are a big club and we have achieved precious little in the last few years. Happy to stay in the top 4 is showing a huge lack in ambition.

We are all aware that our major problem is defense, we talked about it last year it was there for a blind man to see, however nothing has been done to rectify it. Isn’t it justified for fans to question when a glaring problem area is not being looked at? does that make them spuds supporters? I mean common! this line of reasoning is childish!
