Walcott in new injury scare with England

Walcott replaced at half-time
England U21’s beat Macedonia 6-3 in a hugely entertaining match last night, but the Arsenal winger Theo Walcott had to be replaced at half-time with a “dead leg”.
Walcott carved out the first goal for England as he chipped the ball for his Arsenal team-mate Kieran Gibbs to head in at the far post.
Englands second came from a corner from another Arsenal player, as Micah Richards got on the end of Jack Wilshere’s corner after it was flicked on by Michael Mancienne.
Muarem Muarem scored from a free-kick to pull one back for Macedonia and they went in to the break with England leading 2-1.
Walcott was replaced by Zavon Hines at half-time, and the goals cam thick and fast in the second half. Three goals came in the first 15 minutes, with Ibraimi levelling it at 2-2, before Kieran Gibbs put the ball in his own net for England to go behind for the first time in the match.
Andy Carrol made it 3-3 soon after from another cross from Gibbs, and then it was all England.
Tom Cleverley put Hines through for the fourth, and then did the same for Carroll to make it 5-3. Hines made it a rout in injury time as he volleyed in the sixth, to mark a great debut for the West Ham youngster.
Stuart Pearce seemed to think that Walcott will recover in time to play for the senior side on Wednesday, when he said: “If they cop a few injuries then it will be a situation to have a look at him, if Fabio so wishes,”
“I know Theo and I know what he’s like and the passion he’s got to represent his country. If there’s an opportunity there I’m sure he will do everything he could to be available.”
Well at least he has got another 45 minutes under his belt, and hopefully his injury will not be dragged out for months like his last one.
