Walcott Taking Nothing For Granted With Arsenal Or England
Theo Walcott has been away with England over the past few days and he has been an integral part of the squad that helped them qualify for next years European Championships. He is expected to be part of the squad that travels to Poland and the Ukraine next year, but he is not taking anything for granted especially after what happened to him last year.
Walcott missed out on the world Cup last summer and realises that he has to perform at club level between now and next May to insure he gets himself a seat on the plane. He has been speaking about his time with England and he started off by saying, “You’ve got to play well for your club and the manager will pick players on form, so I’m not going to look too far ahead after what happened to me a couple of years ago.”
He then went on to say, “He plays players in form and you always get a chance to play and show what you can do and hopefully we can take that into the tournament when it comes to it. Firstly I’m going to be concentrating on Arsenal after the poor start we’ve had. But it’s great to have qualified with England – and the fans were great in Montenegro even when we went to 2-2. This shows what it means to them.”
England have a couple of friendlies lined up against Holland and Spain before next years finals, and both are potential opponents for England next summer, but Walcott is not looking that far ahead.
He said, “When it comes to it, I’ll focus on that – but my first priority now is Arsenal.”
That is good to hear Theo and all of us Gooners are desperate for you to show us some form over the coming weeks and months as we look to climb our way back up the table. If he doesn’t show any form he could find himself losing his place to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, not only for Arsenal, but England as well.

too many english players are too arrogant, hence they under perform. like to show off but don’t have the required technique. look at the england team.
Rooney gets peed off cos his playing with poor performers.
Humble players like scott parker do their best and perform consistently.
Walcott needs to be real and ask himself why his erratic and inconsistant.

Keep your head down and work hard. Do look up to pick out a pass tho. If your not get to much of the ball come deep and get it. God knows, the defense could do with a hand. Theo, Theo.

That’s not what he is showing on the pitch….!!!
He plays like he owns the place and has proven his value.
He is over rated and just an average player blessed with good pace… THAT’S ALL…
I know I would selected Chamberlain before him, any day… The only problem is his lack of experience. Walcott has some, but does not use it because he does not have a football brain.
He does track back and Sagna finds himself defending against 2 players most of the game.
Personally, I think he is useless and was “pump up” great player by Wenger ( as usual )…
Another deadwood like Diaby, Rosicky, Ramsey, etc…

All the `deadwood` at Arsenal have a club of their own there is no point in naming them everyone knows who they are including Wenger. There are also some very talented players who thus far have not been formed into a team.
The sooner a regular run on squad is operating the better.
This weekend is Wenger`s opportunity to introduce new faces with two strikers and start putting numbers on the board.
