Walcott – The atmosphere in the dressing room is brilliant! (Is this serious?)
That must be the weirdest Arsenal article I’ve read for a while. It’s in the Sun today and has Theo Walcott reckoning that the atmosphere in the Arsenal dressing room is brilliant right now (how old was this interview?).
With Arsenal preparing to face Man United at home, where they are unbeaten since the opening game of the season, Theo is quoted as saying: “We’re making the Emirates into a fortress now.
“We’re coming back in games we might have lost before. The top teams are not dropping many points so we need to win.
“The atmosphere in the dressing room is unbelievable. We have some great leaders as well.
“Thomas Vermaelen, Per Mertesacker and Aaron Ramsey have all captained their countries.
“You ask any player here and they’ll tell you it’s the best it’s been for a long time.”
Okay let’s go and ask them. I’m more inclined to think the atmosphere is “unbelievable”, because I certainly don’t believe it is the “best for a long time” after the last two weeks….

This must be a joke! Walcott clearly loves the presence of leaders in the team,but we need them to step up right now and get back into reckoning for next season’s champs league,only then will I agree that the atmosphere is ‘unbelievable’ or ‘brilliant’…who knows,we might beat Barca to the champs league title if he’s right

Oh spare the BS. Does walcoot suffer from delusional mindblowing attacks. How could the dressing room have a brilliant atmosphere? Weve been well beaten on 2 occasions and are facing a Man U team which gave us a severe hiding not too long ago. Whats giving the dressing room a brilliant atmosphere? Electric lettuce maybe. The team should together with the french idiot be hard at work trying to gain some semblence of a Arsenal team and not a bunch of overimportant petulant crybabies. Sure not all our players are in that state but TW JD etc are.

This goes to show how these players are out of touch with the feelings of their fans. First it was Wenger who stated that it would be foolish to drop points coz of lack of natural fullbacks, the next very moment he reneges on that stance by saying the January transfer window should be scrapped. Then it was Thierry’s turn berating a fan in apparently a vile manner which he later appologized for. Then Walcott terms the dressing room as ‘brilliant’ despite the mediocrity they are putting us through it doesn’t get more ridiculous than that does it?

Without Sagna, Vermalaen and Wilshere, United will give us at least 3. I don’t see players like Djoure, Squillaci and even Mertesacker being able to hold the line.
I would play Yennaris before Djoure and Miquel before Squillaci. Kossie and Merts CB. Ramsey better pull his weight this weekend and control the ball, because he will be out classed as usual. I would actually rather play Arteta and Rosicky over Ramsey and Benayoun, simply because Arteta at least is consistent and doesn’t give the ball away. Rosicky looks good going forward, and draws players to him and has quick thinking. Similar to Jack. We need players like that against United.
Up front we need AOC. Please Wenger play him if you want a result, because we cannot always rely on RvP. Play him LW before Arshavin and play Walcott RW. We need wingers to beat United.

These players have it too good, really. They are pampered by Wenger, paid far too much money and I doubt their training programme is as tough as other teams who are serious about competing for titles. Wenger’s comments of late have really shocked me. This club has turned into a f*cking joke, I hope United rape us again maybe that will wake up little w&/%ers like Theo.

Seriously I really wish Wenger would give Oxlade a run of 10 straight games so that we can see some real talent. Even if he just stands on the field and smiles he is still better than Walcott.

Please don’t read articles in rubbish newspapers even if they are true. Walcott seems to always mention unbelieavble at some point. He should be dropped from the team because he seems to be a better spokesperson than he is a player. He is now one of the more experienced players at the club yet there is no commitment when chasing/closing down a ball/player. I’m begging to see Arshavin taking more responsibility, He just needs to get a couple of goals, it might well just be against Manchester united.
Line up against Manchester united should be;
Szczesny, Miquel, Vermaelen, Mertersacker, Koscielny, Song, Arteta, Park, Oxelaide, Van Persie, Arshavin.
Park simply because every other player has got a run in teh premier league with so many poor performacnes from them, why leave the South korean captain out for this long? He can play in AMF. Every game he is left out it just reinforces belief that Miyaichi and him are here to generate money from the far east.
With Oxelaide, Park, Arteta and Song there you have energy in the midfield area to keep the pace up.

Seriously, this is taking things too far! Where did you dig this up? This comment was made by Theo ages ago when we just started improving after the horrible start.
