Walcott – We’ve had our bad spell and Arsenal are moving up the table
The Gunners winger Theo Walcott is feeling pretty good right now (and playing pretty good football too!) and says he knew it was only a matter of time before Arsenal started winning again after their bad start to the season.
He knew that Arsene Wenger’s new signing would need a settling in period but the team were certain to get things sorted in the end. Walcott said: “The new players needed time to gel, time to settle and even though some of them played in the Premier League it was always going to take time,” said Walcott.
“They had to get used to the way the club runs, we had injuries as well. Things were not going our way. Every team has bad spells, hopefully we’ve had ours and we can learn from it next time.
“The way we’ve played in the last few weeks, it’s nice to see us move up the table but we’re not looking too far ahead, we just concentrate on the next game and that’s what we’ve been doing.”
Arsenal really need to concentrate on the next game right now as it is away at the League leaders Manchester City. Wouldn’t it be nice if Arsenal could knock them off the top, even if it means Man Utd replace them as leaders…..

I feel we do well when our players talk less. Walcott and Djurou in particluar need to focus on their game and form and stop getting ahead of the ball!

if torres really is gonna be available for 20 mill, isnt it worth a punt on him. he hasnt become such a bad player in 18 months. hes lacking confidence, isnt happy, and therefore probably isnt training to his potential. therefore fitness is also playing a part in his sever lack of form. lets face it, when he was on fire at liverpool, he was absolutely world class. everyone cud see it. wenger has an incredible ability to bring great players out of a slump. he did it with pires, henry, vieira. all were world class players not happy with there clubs. its a mouthwatering thought, RVP and TORRES up front. we have the money, so why not. if it doesnt work out and his form stays the same, he will always command a good fee if he returned to spain in a year or 2.

i dont see it as the same as chamahk. torres is a proven world class striker, lacking form. i admit, its a severe lack of form. i just feel he will return to his best with the right club. i also feel we could well be the right club for him. Chamahk wasnt and isnt i feel going to be world class. he started pretty well but had tailed off badly. his form is down to confidence im sure, but he isnt in the same league as torres. let him go back to france on loan, sell bendtner and any other fringe players that aint gonna be good enough. buy 1 more defender and take a punt on torres. if it worked it wud be fantastic for us. and like i said earlier if it doesnt, sell him back to a spanish side like athletico madrid, malaga or valencia. am sure 1 of those wud still pay in the region of 10/15 mill for him.

such nonsense…
buy Torres on a gamble
so first of all how much of a pay cut will he be prepared to take
what do you suppose he is getting each week at the moment…this £50 million footballer with 3+ years left on his contract
we have just offered RVP £90k a week (currently one of the best strikers in europe) and he isn’t signing
so you now think we are going to match the £200k a week Torres is pulling
i think its time to smell the ol’ nescafe
this game is all about the moola – the dosh – the wonga…and ONLY THAT
all this ‘loves the club’ – ‘kissing the badge’ – ‘plays for the supporters’ rubbish – is just a part of the circus
just think a bit before getting so excited….

@ Goonerbri, Chicken wing and Gary
Yes i think Torres is worth the risk but only for 20M or under. There are a number of strikers who would sign with Arsenal for less and in better form: Moussa Sow, Andre Ayew, Remy and even Podolski
We forget Torres is still young at 24-25 and brings rich experience in the EL with him. Wenger is a genius at picking up a bargain and turning players around back to form as mentioned by Goonerbri. Gary did make a good point that Torres might not agree personal terms with Arsenal, as currently he is OVERPAID and we won’t pay anyone over 100K a week. Just part of our self-sustaining model as stressed boringly 100 times a month by Gazidis.
Realistically, I believe the Torres rumours to be BS. Although Abramovich is a Billionaire, is it logical to believe they wouldn’t buy someone for $50M then sell him a year later for 30M less? Of course it is.
Torres and RVP together sounds deadly, but it’ll never happen. Doesn’t look like a typical Wenger buy.

@ hmmmmm. I have no idea what game you were watching, but Arsenal created plenty chances. I should have been 4 – 0.
The Mancs are going to be embarrassed this weekend that is for sure.

i no realistically the wages would be a massive problem. and as u quite rightly said, he is well over paid. he also is not someone wenger would seriously consider. i just thin it was a valid point to make that TORRES could, and i think would be a great signing and possibly a bargain at 20 mill. If it worked out and he regained his form, convinced RVP that arsenal are at last competing for the best players, signed a new 4 year deal. What a team we would have!!!!! id offer them both 150k a week and kick out the dead wood to compensate

@hmmmmm lol what an unbealiveable stupid coment. Which game did you watch? Yes it was a tough game, because we missed like 5 goals in the 1st half and because everton defense was almost flawless in the 2nd. Walcott was our second best player, cuz Song played like a beast. So shut up and keep ur pesimistic views to yourself.
