Walcott WILL sign Arsenal contract in next 2 weeks!
There is a lot of mutual appreciation going on at the Emirates between Arsenal and Theo Walcott at the minute, and the contract negotiations between club and player are finally heading towards a successful resolution. The deal will be done in the next two weeks, because Arsenal want the situation resolved before the end of the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, officials at Arsenal have set a deadline of two weeks to seal the deal with the lightning fast England international. They must now have realised that Theo is a vital part of the Arsenal team, and worth the extra money his representatives are asking for.
Arsene Wenger has given Walcott the chance to prove he can cut it as a central striker, and the 23-year old has done enough to convince Le Prof that he can do it. All of a sudden, the words coming from Wenger have lost the cautionary tone of recent weeks and imply that the boss is confident that pen and paper will soon be coming together.
“The club loves Theo and Theo loves the club and, trust me, reciprocal love is hard to find.
“I want him to extend his contract and I’m hopeful he will.
“I know he can only get stronger. He is an intelligent player and because of that intelligence he will continue to improve.”
Walcott also seems to have accepted that he will still be used on the wing at times, but he is happy with things at the Emirates. It will be fantastic for everybody concerned with the Gunners to finally put the situation behind us.

Wenger is driving home. As he enters his neighbourhood he can see missing posters for a kitten. He feels guilty for stealing the kitten and giving it to Steve Bould so that he can keep his props in tact. As he makes the right turn he sees Ivan in his driveway.
Wenger: Whats homeboy doing in my endz? OK, I’ll just pretend I never saw him and keep on driving
Ivan waves at Wenger. Wenger looks up
Wenger: Nooooo he knows I have seen him
Wenger gets out of his car
Wenger: Sup I Gizzle
Gazidis: Just chilling A Wizzle
Wenger: What brings you to the hood
Gazidis: It is the transfer window tomorrow. Baiscally that is when……..
Wenger: Don’t worry Steve told me what that is
Gazidis: OK so here is a little pickle I am in. I told everyone that you have 70 million to spend.
Wenger: Really? I want M’Villa and ………..
Gazidis: Let me stop you there
Wenger: What we signed him already? Where is he? Is he in you car? Let me see let me see
Gazidis: No we haven’t. Truth be told we don’t have 70 million to give you
Wenger: Why did you tell everyone that then?
Gazidis: I needed my props
Wenger: Well I need mine. Just like when Henry used to be a winger and I moved him to striker to give the EPL the finest striker it has ever seen.
Gazidis: I was speaking to Steve………
Wenger: Shut up. Bald people are evil
Gazidis: Don’t diss us shaved heads. This is a fashion choice to chop it all off. If I wanted to grow it back I would have lots of hair. You are evil
Wenger: Nope its bald people that are evil. Did you not watch Austin Powers?
Gazidis: What?
Wenger: DR Evil is evil because he is bald. Powers has lots of hair and is a good guy.
Gazidis: He wasn’t evil because he was bald!
Wenger: Yes he was. There is that part where his son becomes evil and he goes bald too. Why would he go bald when he turns evil if it isn’t the evil turning him bald?
Gazidis: *sigh*
Wenger: Looks like you need a holiday. South of France is good
Gazidis: Seriously though, you have no money to spend
Wenger: Wow, never been here before!
Gazidis: Soooooooooooooooooooooo
Wenger: Easy. Let Walcott speculation go crazy and no one will notice that two bald people are ruining my life.
Gazidis: Well…………
Wenger: What now?
Gazidis: I kind of told a newspaper that Walcott will sign by the middle of Jan?
Wenger: WHAT? You know he isn’t going to sign da ting. That is crazy. In the middle of Jan we now will have no signings and no Walcott
Gazidis: I’ll be honest with you. This does not happen on Football Manager
Wenger: OK I have an idea.
Gazidis: Yes?
Wenger: Shave off Gervinhos hair and reintroduce him as a new player
Gazidis: OK three flaws here: 1) He is going to be in Africa! 2) He loves his hair 3) Even if it worked we would have made the worse signing of the year by playing him in th team
Wenger: Oh yeah I forgot how rubbish he is
Gazidis: So?
Wenger: Payday loan?
Gazidis: Why is that kid pointing at you and telling his dad that you stole kitteh?
Wenger: Oh oh
*Wenger runs away*

@Leo “The Turkish media are convinced that Arda has set his heart on a move to Arsenal”
I seriously hope we don’t get this guy. I’ve seen him play so many times over the years and at most he’s “not bad”. We have Ramsey who can fill the “not bad” role at Arsenal and he might actually get better. Arda is NOT suoer suoer quality.

when come to transfer market in recent years, i can’t trust this Triple Stingy-Gluttony-Arrogance; Board/Gazidis/Wenger. if my memory serves me well, there is none want away top player re-sign his contract, correct me if i am wrong. let me quote few example; flaminy, fabregas, adebayor, clichy, nasri, van persie. they all left for good reasons. but this time, hopefully Walcott sign asap.

It seems like a no brainer that they need TW to sign something!! However I think Arsenal were right to hold back from an improved offer till he really went out and ‘demonstrated’ what he is capable of. He has done that the past few games. Too many players get handed big contracts because they have the ‘potential’. Arsenal are being tough here and would not budge till Walcott went out and actually ‘implemented’ what he says he is capable of. Let’s hope he stays now and continues to show it.
The next challenge would then be how to utilize both he and Giroud simultaneously??The Frenchman has shown a lot of promise too so should he and TW work on the field together as a partnering unit? Or should one come on and one come off or move spot or what exactly?
Lastly and most worryingly is team defense???? Where is it??? The acid test comes soon for the attack, and for the defense! Man City, Swansea, Chelsea, and Liverpool are on the horizon. Arsenal historically do well when they are stringing wins together, but as soon as they lose one they seem to flounder for weeks trying to get back to form and instead they draw, lose win draw draw lose etc for way too long before they recover??? MU by contrast, lose one, then immediately respond with a win?

Where have we heard this b4?At the start of the season was supposed to be the deadline, then december, now the next 2 weeks.Something tells me it wont be resolved in 2 weeks. But it needs to be otherwise we won’t be able to sell him if he doesn’t sign.If we do sell him we could get close to 15-20m after that hatrick.Still hope he signs tho,cos if he leaves we’re back 2 square 1,and it always takes ages for us to find a replacement, which will slow our momentum.
We must sign him within the next 2 weeks, wheher we will or not is 50/50,if he makes it clear he will not sign then unfortunately he will have to be sold.COYG

Man… How long have you been an Arsenal fan for? Every last time AW said these kind of words, the player related to these words left in the following couple of weeks. There is absolutely nothing in this article that can make any of us believe Walcott is going to sign. Actually that’d be more the opposite given that from tomorrow bids are going to get in for the kid and numbers can make him take the wrong decision…

I love how less than 6 months ago there was a contingent of arsenal supporters that did not believe Walcott was of any value to this club. For me I have always believed and will be glad when he signs da ting.

I won’t believe anything until it’s on the arsenal website.
I want Walcott to stay and it looks about 55% he will stay now.
he is scoring, we need him, he isn’t expensive enough to leave just yet(he came for a total of 9.5m or so in 2006)
Henry comes back to coach would give him more insentive to stay, better if henry stays permanently as coaching staff.
he also does wear the number 14 for a number of years which Wenger does understand the implications. That doesn’t mean he won’t leave, but it does mean Wenger has faith in him.
I do believe that Wenger is learning from his mistakes be it very slowly. Ramsey’s game time have reduced and so has Gervinho. He also let a player who’s contract isn’t solved yet to play an important striker role.
All of these things point that Wenger should be putting more effort to keep Walcott.
And on top of all that, we’ve just sold RVP to ManU in the summer, meaning the fans are still unhappy. IF doesn’t pull this one together, it really would mean Wenger lost his plot.
C’mon SIGN DA TING!!!

Would love Theo to sign. Might even forgive the board if they don’t sign anyone else. But we’ve got to be honest. Theo is being very mercenary about his. Is new contract. He won’t sign until the transfer window is open and then his agents will be out touting. He’ll listen to his agents and sign for chelski or citeh for a stupid amount of money. He probably will spent more time on the bench counting his money than playing and will eventually retire a very wealthy but underachieving player. Sound familiar? Replace Theo with Shaun Wright Phillips and you know it’s true. There is of course another way. He signs for arsenal, he gets to play in his preferred position and becomes a legend. Sure he won’t make as much money but he’s not exactly going to be skint. I know which I’d prefer…….

He is right to be mercenary. He is just about the best attacking player in the world not on silly money right now. I hope with all my heart that he does sign, and we begin to pay him what he is worth.

@49Unbeaten
r u serious? do u really think arda turan is ‘not bad’
let me give u some of his stats:
2006/2007 – 36 appearances 8 goals and 12 assists
2007/2008 – 44 appearances 8 goals and 21 assists
2008/2009 – 46 appearances 12 goals and 15 assists
2009/2010 – 47 appearances 11 goals and 26 assists
2011/2012 – 45 appearances 5 goals and 12 assists
2012-2013 – 14 appearances 5 goals and 7 assists
now look at those statistics and honestly tell me, do u really think arda turan is ‘not bad’.
his stats are better than any winger we’ve had since Robert pires. (apart from walcott this season)
i bet u if he came to arsenal he would take Podolski’s place out on the wing, i am not even counting gervinho.
arda turan is skillful, great final ball, very creative and incredibly strong for his height and size so he hardly loses the ball.

He’s a goner, he would have signed by now if he wanted to stay, his team is creating problems to make it look like arsenals fault.he’ll be at united, liverpoole, city or Chelsea by next summer AS A WINGER. Then it will show he’s after money!!

We are on the eve of the transfer window and still guessing.
This club is a joke.
I bet Wenger gets his contracts sorted over one expensive lunch.
To all you Diaby fans, who would you choose to keep out of him and Walcott right now?
We will get exactly what we deserve with this mess.
Why has this taken so long if we really wanted him?
I can already hear the traitor vibes coming from the Wenger brigade if he leaves.
We should make the board and Wenger accountable if he leaves.
