Wenger – “There Is No Chance I Would Walk Away”
Arsene Wenger was a man under pressure even before yesterdays game, but after a disappointing performance in which his side lost at home to Liverpool for the first time in 11 years some fans, and it is a very small minority it has to be said, have been calling for Wenger to go.
Despite yesterdays result Wenger faced up to the press and was his usual defiant self. In response to the calls for his head he said, “There is no chance I would walk away. There is only one chance and that is that I will try to do my best for this club.”
He went on to add, “We are living in circumstances where every defeat is absolutely a disgrace and an earthquake. We are very disappointed to have lost, but we are at the start of the season.”
Asked about the pressures of managing a club like Arsenal he said, “I don’t feel under any more pressure than usual. I feel the result was very harsh on us and the decider was the sending off. Emmanuel Frimpong was a victim of his lack of experience. He deserved a second yellow and shouldn’t have gone into that tackle.”
Wenger has faced a lot of criticism during his time at Arsenal about his transfer policy, and even more so now as even the fans are urging him to spend, spend and spend some more. He said, “The target is to have a good team and good players. You can spend money and have a bad team. We want the supporters to be happy and when we don’t win games we understand they are not.”
Just a little added note about Wenger leaving Arsenal. At the beginning of the season odds of 25/1 (26.0) were available on Wenger being the first Premier League manager to be sacked, or leave their job this season. Today those odds are now just 7/1 (8.0). I wonder what they will be this time next week if he fails to lead his team to wins against Udinese and Manchester United.

AW – Pls stop being an obstinate fool…
Arsenal nfans never want your head…it’s just that you have been playing with our emotions for years now…your dictatorial regiment & your fckd up philosophy has ruined the club recently…we have become feeders for Top clubs…w eare ceasing to be the elite clubs that we were ( in fact a large credit goes to you in your earlier days )…
You have lost galvanising situations. pls grow up, smell the coffee…
There are 9 days left… go & get adequate replacements in areas life CB, LB, Central Midfield & may be an out-an-out striker to help RvP… Yr futuristic notions are so hollow.. we want to see success now..not after 5 years… people live the day..pls introspect why players like Fab & Nasri are leaving the club….
request you to throw out dead-weigths like Almunia, Arshavin, Bednter, Squilachi NOW & re-inforce with known & capable players…
If you don’t your doomsday is nearing – and that would be sad but inevitable….
Pls pls do not remain with your ego…pls save this club from the ignominy – go & sign some repiuted players till the transfer window is open…If you think players like Mata, Hazard, Cahill, Jagielka, Benzema are not better than our Squilachi, Rosicky, Chamakh & Bendtner – then you are the BIGGEST Idiot… even a toddler would understand it…
if you do not sign some players – PLEASE RESIGN & GO

First off he should stop saying s#!* like this. He should also say sorry for the defeat and promises 2 or 3 good players(not 17 year old kids) or quit. An LB, Midfielder and striker.

“The target is to have a good team and good players. You can spend money and have a bad team.”
obviously hes referrin 2 liverpool and if i am honest hes right!!! liverpool doesnt luk like a team whos goin 2 giv any headache 4 anyone after seein them play.kenny daglish seems 2 b just a glory hunter and is not ready 2 work hard and develop players like arsene.is dat d way a legend ought 2 run a team?????? if liverpool doesnt b in d top 4 which can happen with no of teams fightin 4 it,then i am sure daglish will get sacked and there is goin 2 b one “UNHAPPY OWNER”(AFTER INVESTIN SO MUCH MONEY).wat we need is mertesacker-7mill,martin-15mill,jadson-12mill and a striker.if this happens arsenal will giv d others a run 4 their money,y i am sayin dat is arsenal style of footballin is very gud,jus like barca u need 2 spend on certain areas(alves, villa, sanchez, fab.even madrid couldnt beat them with fab, sanchez) in sub!!!!!!!if wenger signs like barca but spend wisely,we can b on par with barca(y does we get so many injuries??? rigorous training???? hmmm, somethin in trainin needs 2 b changed)……..

Just shut up Wenger. Frimpong was a victim of inexperience? No shit Sherlock. You are the only one who doesn’t see the lack of experience as a problem.

In Arsene we trust. It looks very bad, but I’m hoping he has something up his sleeve. After all he knew that Fab and (maybe) Nasri were going (Didn’t He?).
Having said that, From Ireland, I know how easy if was for everyone to get on the big spending bandwagon. Guys bought 2-3-4 houses like they were buying candy, and it all went to shit. Maybe the premiership will implode under the weight of the big salaries, and the gooners will be left standing, with Wenger standing tall in the rubble with a ‘I told you so’ smile on his face.
Bring on Udinese, hopefully a win, Jack will come back and things will look a lot brighter.

He is more interested in money than football. He is not a winner any more and thats why all our players lack the winning mentality. They just play pretty footie butt don’t know how to win because of the managers attitude.
Arsenal need to develop a winning mentality and that starts with the manager.

A huge problem with Arsenal still is these AKB’s. For years now the average punter hasn’t had a voice because if you say even the slightest criticism expect the AKB’s to come out.
And now look what happened. The AKB’s have retreated and out has come the militant voice of Arsenal fans. Its the AKB’s fault. If all fans could have had a voice then we wouldn’t have had so many disenchanted fans whose voice is now coming out on the extreme side.

this makes a lot of sense to me, which is why it wont happen, but wouldnt this be class…
OUT: bendy, squid, rosicky, moons, chamakh
IN: vertonghen, hazard, cahill, drogba, baines…
obviously this wouldnt happen, but say we could just have 3 of these players in and 3 of those players out, we look good again. i would prefer vertonghen, hazard and baines i think, as vertonghen is not only an insane centre back (just like vermaelen) but also a very good DM. Baines- we are crying out for a good left back, exoperienced in the PL, he would be perfect and hazard, i dont need to say more… just these 3 would cost us less than 50 million, so why is this not happening? It’s just embarrassing to watch, how can a club as rich and highly regarded fall to such depths. We need new players, everyone can see that, we need some heart back in the side, I never thought I’d miss the days Ray Parlour was in the team but bloody hell do we need some grit and enthusiasm. I’m not suggesting signing this guy and that guy AW should be able to see what is wrong and although I don’t want a return to boring boring arsenal 1-0 winners longball philosophy I just want us to be feared and respected like we once were, we are basically playing our Carling Cup team from last year and every club we play feels they can pick us off, this is because they can. This is the first weekend I’ve deliberately avoided motd and reading the sunday papers. C’mon pull your finger out you have 9 days to fix the glaringly obvious problems.

@PaddyGooner and Vir: We’re fans, we have a right to express our opinion.
But I think you’re both idiots. You can get behind the gunners as much as you like. Shout till you’re blue in the face, knock yourselves out.
The facts are we’re a worse team than last year, and at the end of the season we didn’t win for 16 games. We needed new defenders and a new goalkeeper, we didn’t buy any. We’ve lost our two best players (Nasri will go) and one of the back 4.
And not replaced them. Every other top team has improved their squads. Wenger refuses to.
Is this going to make us a better team, putting kids in? Short answer – no.
Are there players we could buy to strengthen the team. Yes.
Is it good management? No. Will we win anything this year? No.
Should Wenger be replaced by somebody who wants to live in the hear and now and not this promised land of young players coming good “in the next couple of years”.
We have seen all this kids come in, look good and then turn out to be a waste of space in the long run. FOR 6 YEARS.
The unfortunate fact is that Wenger was great once but since has become deluded that his way is the best way and has gone in a different direction to the rest of the prem. And WON NOTHING. At what point should he hold his hands up, say he is wrong and get the chequebook out? NOW is the answer.
But don’t hold your breath.
IN WENGER WE RUST. Doomsday is here.

I really believe the problem is the Board. Wenger wanted to finish all business early this year he made that clear. All the players he identified to strengthen the team were not backed by Stan and he Board. The Board are not scared of Wenger – it is they who will not sanction wages in excess of £85k a week and this is not enough to interest the top players. Wenger should go for his health – but the club will not function whilst the Board will sanction top purchases and not have a pay structure which leads our best players out of the door. The Board also have highly inflated prices on very average players such as Bendtner – they would be better off to sell to the highest bidder at 7million rather than try to get more. The board need to change their tune quickly or there is going to be a severe implosion.

i dont want wenger to walk away… but should realize he is weakening the team… nasri is leaving coz the manager shows no ambition… its wenger to blame…. n he has to sort it out…. with every thing he has done for the club from the day he joined its bit harsh to sack him…. but the result, if it doesnt changes its makes point that the manager is old n dont have the brain anymore…. n the harsh thing will b done. now its up to him, continue being stubborn with his transfer policy or be flexible with it.. if he cant get flexible at this stage he should n should be kicked out of the club…..

Everyone raves about Everton’s players – Jagielka, Baines, Fellaini, Arteta, Rodwell all were involved yesterday, didnt see them doing too well against —- QPR!!
Why? cos they are all very average if we pay £20m for anyone of them we will be absolute Mugs. £40m for the lot is about what they are worth.
Perhaps we should go to Everton and offer £50m for that lot plus Moyes!

I can’t believe some people are still in denial.
ARSENAL IS IN TERMINAL DECLINE. THIS IS NOT OPINION – IT IS FACT.
If you AKB’s can’t see this then give up on football because you seem to lack basic knowledge of this sport.
This is not about trophies, big name players, finances or whatever excuse you lame AKB’s will come up with next. Just in case you don’t get it -
Finance? NOT REALLY BECAUSE FLAMINI, CESC, DIARRA, HLEB, ADEBAYOR PLUS HEAVILY PRICED WALCOTT AND CHAMBERLIN ALL CAME AFTER THE STADIUM.
Wenger knows best? Maybe except for the same issues are now 3 PLUS YEARS OLD.
Wenger still knows best? EXCEPT FLAMINI, NASRI, DIARRA AND CESC ALL DID NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR THIS ‘GENIUS’.
Money still an issue? WE FANS ARE THE EQUIVALENT OF SOMEONE PAYING FOR A PORSCHE RENTAL AND THEN BEING GIVEN A MICRA.
You AKB’s make me sick. You no longer lobve Arsenal, you just love Wenger. If you loved Arsenal you would have shown balance. Instead you follow the exploits of this ‘genius’ at the expense of AFC.
AFC >>>>>>>>>> THAT WENGER, CESC, NASRI, ANY PLAYER IN ITS HISTORY OR THE EXISTENCE OF THESE AKB’S.
These Wenger lovers need to be shut up. Time to reclaim AFC back for the average punter.

@huhh?, you do have a right to express your opinion, but when doing it, at least have respect for the club when expressing it. As I said, Arsenal are going through hard times. Man U fans went through the same thinggs for 26 yrs when they couldn’t win a trophy, and look where they are now? Six yrs is nothing, and we can’t panic when we have the right manager, and we have to trust the players instead of shattering their confidence

U lot make me laugh . Wenger does have his flaws like every other manager but he will eventually bring success like he has before. I pay a fortune 4my season ticket but I go to Support the team not shout and moan against r own .Maybe if the entire crowd gave the opposition grief rather than r own players it might help . From what I have heard wenger will nit consider transfers until after the crucial away game against udinese if we win something should happen maybe Hazard a guy arsenal fans r always talking about . This guy is gonna be something special but defence definitely needs help . Arsene should be worried as all the players he has been loyal 2 whilst waiting 4 them to improve All seem 2 leave hazard would probably do the same so pay proper wages 2keep hold of them if theres no trophies on the horizon. We had a team that went an entire season unbeaten. We should have built a dynasty that is competing with Manure and Chelski for the title every year.
Instead we did not invest, apart from in youth and now we’re mid-table at best without new players.
I agree with Wenger is a Joke – the club isn’t Wenger and Wenger isn’t the club. It will be here when he is gone and you and I are gone.
We have received over 120m in transfer fees as we get rid of our best players and what has that bought us – mediocrity.

Wenger will need to be careful. If we get dropped out of Champions League on the 24th, I don’t think he will make it to the end of the season. We need one big name center back and one good back up. We also need a superstar mid and forward, we can’t keep running a 4-5-1, we don’t have the personnel to run that. We need experienced depth, not 19 year old’s as our back ups.

Why are we rebuilding? Because the wizened old moron in charge wants to prove to the world that he knows best. He doesn’t!
Why do you AKBs get hung up over a couple of million here or there – what does it matter in the long run? If we pay 15, 16, 17 or 18m for somebody like Cahill and helps us stay top of the table what does an extra 5m mean?
Why do all the other teams that have overtaken us buy top stars for top money?? Coz you can’t get bargains in world football any more.

AW to go or not to go? It is indeed a dilemma….
Let’s be objective here.
1. Let’s look on AW resume & track record. Had managed Arsenal since 96 and had won in total 11 silverware inclusive 3 premier league title. The most notable and memorable would be in 2003-2004 which Arsenal had become the only team in history winning the title going thru the season ‘Undeafeated’. The Invincible!! It was not a small feat. Arsenal under AW had also never failed to qualify UCL during difficult time which is the investment of the Emirates. This is also not a small feat considering managing a club with a tight budget. According to Wikipedia, we are third most valuable Association football club in the world as of 2010, valued at $1.2 billion. Nobody can argue that AW played big part in these achievement.
2. Now, why do many of us here wants him to go? For one it was lack of trophy for many years. But the most pressing reason I guess is on his stubbornness to spend for world class players as many of us think including myself that this would be the solution. I guess it is the solution as we had failed for 6 yrs believing that we can win without spending. Let change strategy and spend !! I had no argument here.
3. On the other hands, let’s assume AW was sacked. Who can best replace him? For time being, I can’t think of any other manager that are available in the market that is fit enough to manage Arsenal as AW. Don’t get me wrong here, I don’t mind sacking AW if we can get Mourinho/Pep Guordiola/Ferguson. But if sacking AW will give us Capello/Gullit/Ranieri/Houllier/Scolari…. we better not. Even if we spend on big players, can these managers bring success… ??? This is something for us to ponder.
It is indeed a difficult period, but we are not far from success if we play our card right. My hope is AW to spend and finish what he started with these team. That would be the best for Arsenal…..
Gooner always….

Remember, we were missing 7 players yesterday and were holding our own against a Liverpool that spent 100m, until Frimpong acted stupid, so we ain’t that bad really. Even if we lose to ManU next Sun, I wouldn’t be too concerned. Things will turn around. And hopefully we will get past Udinese on Wednesday, although I’ve never seen us play as shit as we did last week against them. Surely we can’t get any worse

AFC has lost what the spirit of football is all about – the passion, the fight to win trophies in turn to bring glory to our club. That has been gone for some time now.
All it is now is a business, run and managed by the greedy and corrupt, including AW. They are sucking the very life out of our beloved Arsenal…the hard earned cash we spend every season in hopes to see glory and promises made by our manager come to fruition are all in vain. AW fans, wake up and see what really is going on. He and the board do not give a shit about the fans anymore. They are only in it for the money…why the hell do you think AW has not spent anything on the type of caliber players we desperately need in this dire situation? Why do you think we have had holes in our defense for the last two seasons which have still yet to be fixed? Why all the promises of him pretending to want to sign experienced players yet he brings in more teenagers? The youth program has not worked. Even if the youth actually do become superstars they get snatched up before they can make a proper contribution to the club aka Fab, Nasri. Another money making scam by the Professor.
We as fans are the heart of this club. We pour our hearts out every season because it is what we love. We spend our hard earned wages every season, every game in hopes our team will win because of the manager we trust in. It’s time the owners/investors/manager gave something back to us…because without us, AFC would not exist. We need to expose the corruption for what it is and let those bastards realize that without us, they cannot make their money. I would rather spend my money and support on a club knowing it is being used for the right things.
The first step we need to take is get rid of AW. Don’t give me that bullshit about who will replace him. Anyone with half a brain and some integrity could do a better job than him. I mean how hard can it be to buy two experienced defenders in a transfer window of 2 months? It really isn’t rocket science.
The first step into exposing and getting rid of this corruption would be to sack Wenger. He is obviously a puppet in all this. Then it’s the board next. I won’t let those leeches suck my club dry of everything it has stood for. I hope all you true gunner fans feel the same.

I like Frimpong he is big and imposing in mid , shame he got sent off but a blind man could see it coming he should of been taking off shortly after start of secod half , but i can see him and song dominating the CDM position in england , HAZARD WILSHIRE AND GERVINHO in ATT roles and RVP up front with Walcott ready on bench to come in for Ger or RVP ,, 4-2-3-1 would be good for these players
Szecney
Sagna- TV – Cahill- Gibbs/Jenkinson
Song-Frimpong
Gervinho- Wilshire – Hazard
RVP
I think this would fix problems in both def and att ,

TO aDMIN,
TO SAY THAT A MINORITY OF FANS WANT WENGER TO BE SACKED I THINK YOU ARE NOT HONEST TO YOURSELF AND TO THE ENTIRE ARSENAL FAN BASE. I CHALLENGE YOU TO CARRY OUT A SURVEY AND FEED YOUR READERS WITH A MORE AUTHORATATIVE STATEMENT.
