Wenger admits that Eden Hazard could play for Arsenal
Arsene Wenger has been following the rise of Eden Hazard ever since he was a teenager at the Lille Academy in 2005, and it has always been assumed that Wenger would bring him to Arsenal as soon as he could.
But now Hazard is 21 years-old and one of the most sought-after players in Europe, but Wenger has made it clear yet again that he would love to have him in the Arsenal team.
“I really like him [Hazard] and, for several reasons: it’s his creative power, his ability to mis-align the opponent, his vision of the game and his consummate skill to address the last pass which make him a very interesting player.
“Hazard has what it takes to play for a top-level club, and Arsenal are a top-level club.”
But Wenger also advised that if he bidded for Hazard it would have to stay within his budget restraints, and the club has to make a profit every season.
He said: “You should know that each season, it is imperative to show a profit of between fifteen and twenty million pounds,”
“I would add that the purpose of a coach is to always buy at a price he sees fit.”
There is no doubt that Wenger has made much more than 20million profit every year, so surely he could use just a little bit to buy Hazard for the Arsenal fans. Wenger says we are a “top-level club” well maybe he could prove it?

LOL can someone please tell me who he’s gonna replace?
Chamberlain is younger and stronger, faster and more committed to defending.
Walcott is faster, still only 22 and even van Persie said he will be one of the best in the country. I know he’s off form atm but please tell me 1 player thats never been off form. everyones forgetting what he done against Chelsea and his partnership with Chamberlain killed Blackburn on Saturday.
Gervinho runs past people like there standind still. He has pace he is very clever and yeah i know he hasn’t established himself as a goalscorer yet but when van Persie come to AFC he sat behind the Strikers and when Henry came he was a Winger. Dont forget his just come from a Foreign country and it usually takes foreign players 6 Months – 2 Years.
Of course i would like Hazard at The Emirates but i think we need to worry about more important stuff for now e.g. getting through the next round of the F.A Cup and beating A.C Milan and also getting that 4th place.
Come on you Gunners.!

Here we go the usual rubbish about the club has no money even though they’ve sold players over the past 3 years to the tune of over £100M. On top of all that there’s all the other financial profit in the coffers but no ‘Arsenal Football Club has no money!!’ unreal! Don’t worry though fellow Gooners there’s the profit to come from the sale of Robin van Persie to come.

Sounds like he is already making excuses why he won’t buy him. In the last 4 years we had made a profit of over 40mil between buying and selling players. On top of that every year we’re making over 50mil overall profits. To me it seems like we have money to spend Mr Wenger. Than again I could be wrong since I don’t have a degree in Economics.

I would like to see him wear our jersey, bt We’ve got some younger & older players who’s got talent more than he does & moreover we’ve got more issues to focus on like getting back to the top 4, defeat AC milan, try to win the FA cup & even sell players like Chamack, Squillaci, Asharvin etc rather than buying him.

I think we could easily make around 20 million from players that want out, or on there way out
Arshavin 6mil
Park 4mil
Bendtner 4mil
Denilson 2mil
Aluminia 1mil
You could easily add a few others to that list. However Hazard is going to cost at least 30-35mil (Over inflated), if the big clubs weren’t interested then he’d be around 20-25mil. That means we theoretically pay 15mil for him at the most (same as Arshavin), so it could happen and Arsenal can still make a profit.
However, I have no doubt that Wenger will be squeezing every last penny out of Lille, while Madrid will hand them a blank cheque.
What I’m more worried about though is if we use the money from a potential RVP sale

imagine an midfield and attack:
RvP
Hazard/Gervinho Walcott
Ox
Wilshere/Arteta Song
chamberlain has said he see’s himself of a more attacking midfielder, who can play centrally, and not such a winger. I reckon his pace, good vision and hard work can see him replace ramsey to sit behind ramsey, who could drop deeper to play a more deep-lying playmaker aside song/wishere, etc.

Mike sorry but that’s a little delusional. Walcott is seriously lacking in creativity or skill and has one good game in every 10 matches. Gervinho always looks like he’s going to do something but his statistics are disappointing to say the least. Hazard was the youngest ever French Player of the Year last season winning the award at the age of 20. He won young player of the year for 2 years previously. In comparison Zidane didn’t win player of the year until he was 24. Hazard is a major improvement on what Arsenal now have on the wings and worth shelling out 30m for.

It’s a no brainer….put your money where your mouth is AW and get pre summer agreement signed now. Also get RvP to sign. Then we only need a defender. This wont cost much, 10m pounds max andoptions are huge-Samba, Vertonghen, Baines…. Go get em Arsene.

I definitely don’t support a boycott because it sends out the wrong message entirely, in my opinion. My personal gripe is with the board and the fact that we have such a great manager who won’t be around forever so why don’t they support him with the money that he needs. Arsene hasn’t been given a chance for the last 10 years because he has had to operate a selling club. The stadium revenue is greater than any club in the country and the TV revenues are right up there so why should the stadium be paid for by selling players ? This attitude will sink the club to a point where the drop in other revenues makes selling players a necessity but at the moment it isn’t. The correct thing to do would be to protest specifically against the board and the lack of financial support that Arsene receives. They will kill this great club if they have their way.

We have the lowest net transfer spend in the whole premier league: http://www.transferleague.co.uk/league-tables/2006-2011.html – check the table out. I want to know where all the money is going, because it is lining somebody’s pockets. The arsenal board do not care in the slightest about having the best squad. All you have to do is look at the way they made Wenger change his pre-season camp from Austria to the Far East and now a tour in Nigeria next year- it is all about money. I don’t know how Wenger hasn’t left, too much time invested I guess, plus he is allowed the occasional shoestring value buy if the player is viewed as having re-sale value for a tidy profit down the line; or the desperate situation after the 8-2 when we had just sold 2 of our top 3 players and there was absolutely no chance of kidding anyone- cue the last minute buys of arteta etc. I haven’t gone to a single match this season and I don’t intend to until drastic changes are made. I have had enough of being taken for a mug, it’s money money money. Hazard, Goetze, Pato keep dreaming. If we miss out on the Champions League it will take some major Wenger grovelling to keep Van Persie at the club and I wouldn’t blame him for leaving. I have had enough of it. It’s not right. No one is saying spend like Manchester City but we have consistently been a Champions League club, we should at least be spending as much as, slightly more than Tottenham/Liverpool etc.

@Udo, are you kidding ? he had 5 assists in 17 EPL matches so top assist maker or not those are bad statistics. Walcott had been even worse before Blackburn but you can’t just compare within your own team. David Silva has 12 assists in 24 games so far. Arsenal has bad wingers, they should make most of the assists, one of them having 5 and having more than anyone else does not mean that he’s had a good season. It is more a sign that the team lacks creativity.

Last comment, Alex Song has 5 assists in 20 games which is almost as good as Gervinho and he’s a defensive midfielder who spends 90% of his time around the halfway line. Arsenal desperately need someone like Hazard.

Let’s think for a second. He sold Nasri and Fab = 70 mil. He bought some players = 40-50 mil. The difference is 20-30 mil.
Happy Wenger? Now buy this priceless piece of merchandise so you can sell him later for a profit, but only once he has developed himself as the best midfielder.

Arsenal does not need more creative mid fielders, they have plenty of attacking force. what arsenal needs is a DEFENCE. They need to bring in MEN who can lock down the game and make it known to teams that it will be a long and gruelling game trying to score against arsenal

Scezney / Fabianski
Sagna / Jenkinson Kos / Mert Verm / Djourou Santos / Gibbs
Arteta / Coquilin Song / Frimpong
Ramsey / Wilshere
Walcott / Gervinho Chamberlain / Arshavin
RVP / Park / Chamakh
Of them players I think Arshavin and Chamakh will the be the only departures. Which leaves us with a problem. We don’t want to bring in someone like Hazard as he will get played ahead of Chamberlain and that will stunt his progression as a player. As for a striker we want to bring in a young striker with potential to be world class and eventually replace RVP. Someone like Jovetic maybe, if you havn’t seen this guy play he is CLASS

Recently I have seen Wenger show interest in many players to then go on and make excuses not to buy the players or state that he merely thought a player was good and that this did not mean he will buy everyone he felt is good etc. He’s already making excuses for why he might not buy but at least he’s finally admitting it’s the budget restraints and fear of not making a profit. The board seem to have no faith that Arsene and Arsenal F.C can make investments on players count through making profits from winning more in football.

Would love to see Eden Hazard at Arsenal but the most important thing is that RVP stays and this might encourage him. I trust Arsenes not just saying these things to just make RVP and the fans feel better about the club and would actually try to bring him to Arsenal.

£15-20 mil ….. So basically, CL qualification. Buy the right players and you have your £20m!
There is NO chance we will buy Hazard. His price (value) is simply too high for our “budget” – even the we have £120m in the bank. Things just don’t add up.

Wenger has admitted long ago that Eden is a class but that is not enough. He keep discovering players for others to buy.We want a swift action to make Hazad our player. If you have been making such profit each season why is it difficult to do business for a player of his quality. He also has the option to sell Asharvin,Chamak,Squilaci and Djouru to raise the fund, why wasting precious time?

i have to sadly admit, our club has become a business first and football second…the future looks bleak!…no champions league next season, and if we don’t pull our socks up, no european football at all! I cant see past AC Milan this season…and we are never going to buy a player like Hazard as he is far too much money for the Arsenal board to dish out!…plus we will certainly lose RVP next season…i am sorry for the doom and gloom, but looking back even over the past 5 years, despite what Mr Wenger has said, we have slowly slipped away from the field, buying average players and selling our superstars…and i believe no other coach will want to take Mr Wengers position if he cant buy players…the board will have to seriously have a change of heart, or this club will stop making money soon, and we will be another mid-table team!! that is not the Arsenal i know, and hopefully never will be…
