Wenger again vows to play strong Arsenal team against Bradford (and no penalties!)

Posted on December 11, 2012 by admin

There have been many articles about the possible reserves that Arsene Wenger will play in Arsenal’s game at Bradford tonight, and although he has to make some enforced changes due to injuries Wenger is adamant that he will use whoever is needed to guarantee victory.

“Valley Parade was a difficult place to go to when we played there in the Premier League,” Wenger said yesterday. “It is a passionate place with a very special atmosphere as well. That’s what you will get again in this match.

“I believe when you go to places like this, you need to tell your players that it will be as difficult as a Premier League game, and it will be.

“Therefore you want to prepare yourself. If you don’t do your mental work before the game, you have no chance and that is where our job lies.”

“We will have an experienced squad at Bradford. We have a good recovery time ahead of the game at Reading, so we can use the players we want to use,”

As a warning to Arsenal it must be said that Bradford have only lost once in their last 12 games, and they also are obviously good at winning penalty shoot-outs, having been successful in the last seven in a row, and Wenger does not want to give them the opportunity to make it eight!

“We have to win the game in normal time. They have gained confidence in these types of competitions and confidence plays a big part in that. Hopefully we won’t need penalties,” Wenger said.

“Bradford are a force in their league, they are a team who play very good football and very efficient as well.

“We take them very seriously. They are very efficient at set pieces, so we will have to be very strong on that.”

Although they have an excellent record at Valley Parade, the fact remains that Bradford are still a League Two side. Arsenal should dispose of them no matter what team they put out……

nike set to offer arsenal a new improved deal there are reports that they could lose manure as well & after manure arsenal are their 2nd highest shirt sellers they are willing to match adidas & will offer anything around 25-28m adidas is offering 25m expect a bidding war nike could offer more around 28m

Arsenal were League Cup winners in 1987 and 1993, and runners-up in 1968, 1969, 1988, 2007 and 2011 & this will be the 15th time Arsenal have qualified for the last eight of the League Cup for the 10th successive season If Gunners beat Bradford, Arsenal will set a new League Cup record by qualifying for the semi-finals for the 15th time.

its not about nani being a manu reject..tevez was a manu reject and look what hes doing now.. nani is a proper winger who can be a handful for any team.. but his price tag would be 20mil plus.. dont think arsenal would opt for him..

Expect Wenger’s post match reaction to be “I felt we could win with the selection, may be i gambled a little but didn’t pay off”

That should be interesting. I have heard so much about Bradford and I want to see them in action. I am actually not worried about us. The way I see it, the more games we lose now, the more likely we are to buy players in the January transfer window. Arsenal tends to get too comfortable when we string up a few wins here and there and they forget we have no depth. Why should a club like arsenal be panicking about the absence of Giroud in a game against a league two side? That is because we have no depth.

  15. Tristan says:

i would prefer AW stick to his philosophy and play a mixed squad/second string. after all younger players need games and chances to people what they can do, which is the future of the club. no disrespect to league 2 team, but if our second string can not win over, then they will be failed products.

even if AFC fail to make top 4, still better than man city/chelsea who bought the trophy.
