Wenger and Walcott will work on new Arsenal Contract
It is reported that Arsene Wenger and Theo Walcott are going to have another round of talks in the coming weeks in an attempt to agree a deal to keep the super fast England international at Arsenal. Both men seem to want the same thing, but have so far been unable to agree how to make it happen.
The injury to Gervinho may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Gunners. With very limited striking options, Wenger should now give Walcott some games in which to press his cause to be played as a striker, as he is determined and confident that he can be a success.
“It is a case of having trust in me up front. I was signed as a striker and it is about time, I want to play up front. I have learnt my game on the wing. When you look at what I did last year, I think I can do even more. Hopefully I will be given the opportunity. I am desperate for it.”
Walcott’s appearances have been limited so far this season, having been injured on England duty and also, according to rumours, due to the contract situation. The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal want to know by the end of November whether Walcott is staying at the Emirates, as they are planning a clear out in January, possibly including Arshavin, Chamakh, Djourou and Squillachi.

I think Theo will be a better CF than a winger. Often he is criticized for his final ball or cross. As a CF he will use his pace and striking (which is very underrated) to show his real potential.

Must say that i never realised that Arsene wanted Walcott on the wing in order to improve or add something to his game, i always believed that Arsene had changed his mind and only saw Theo as a winger, however now that we no longer play four four two but play with three up front having some defensive duties, for Theo to take the middle berth role he will have to become a phenominally better player, coz that is the one area that every top club has a gem/assassin of a player whos record in front of goal is clinical to say the least, it goes without saying that i really want Theo to sign and hope he becomes this netbusting spearhead, must add that i would feel safer in the knowlege if we were to have a Drogba signed just in case, but not coz i doubt Theo its just coz i believe that every club can use a Drogba

Have some fans not yet realised that Walcott really isn’t that special. It’s so funny that its nearly scary, or the other way round, im not sure.
It has also come out today that Wenger is thining about going back into Germany to find new transfer targets. I can think of 4 or 5 Borussia Dortmund payers i’d rather pay £100 k a week to than friggin Walcott!

The only reason people want walcott to sign is because he hasnt played a full game in ages and they have forgot how bad he is. Look at ben arfa, valencia, bale, mata they are the standard we need.

Give the lad chance and see if he use it well then fine let him continue to play there…if gervinho with 4goals last season can do it why not the 2nd top of the last season. Anyway its a matter of trying try him 1st and then tie his contract as soon as 4sible

Walcott at CF is as overrated as the player himself. I want him to do well for Arsenal, so to me he’s still a winger because all he can do is RUN! A CF should know how to hold the ball up as well. Theo couldn’t do that for 3secs! i hope he doesn’t sign. If gooners want trophies, we need more class and quality than Theo could ever bring! At 24, he’s like Gervinho – unpolished and still making rookie mistakes! 6 years and still waiting on Walcott to produce the end product.

its rubbish,its pretty obvious theo’s leaving.Theo makes me laugh when he says that he’s learnt his trade as a winger,he clearly hasn’t,this is obviously why wenger doesnt trust him as a striker.
because we’re struggling right now alot of people have got it into their heads that theos the answer,he isn’t and he’s obviously not committed to arsenal so just get rid of him an bring in a proper winger an a world class striker.
