Wenger – Anyone can win the title (unless Chelsea run away with it!)
Arsene Wenger thinks that this seasons Premier League title could be the most open ever, with nearly everyone capable of losing to anyone else, as emphasised by Arsenal’s two home defeats to newly-pomoted sides.
He admits there is the danger of Chelsea “running away with it”, but even they have lost two (albeit very difficult) games already as well.
“Certainly it will be the most open title for a long long time,” said Wenger.
“The demands on the teams in Europe are very high and the level of the less prestigious teams in the Premier League has gone up so I believe everybody will drop points.
“Unless Chelsea run away with it everybody else looks to be fighting and even Chelsea look like they will drop points.
“They have lost a couple. You must give them the credit that it was at difficult places at Manchester City and Liverpool so that’s never easy but at least that keeps the league tight.”
“But the level has gone up and I think the physical resistance of the teams who are a bit less good technically has become stronger.
“All the teams in the Premier League can remain disciplined for 90 minutes therefore you have a little bit less difference made in the second half than years before.”
I’m not sure if thats true, Arsenal are still scoring winners in the last minute lately, except this week of course……..

Wenger is both arrogant and gracious. Arrogant at times to think this squad can compete with Chelsea and gracious in conceding that Chelsea are years ahead of everyone. That’s kind of JJ’s point, if Chelsea are in another galaxy talent wise, why isn’t Wenger trying to make a couple big name signings to help bridge the gap in talent. Big names aren’t everything, but Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Man City have all shown that a load of talent can help the aspirations of floundering squads. While none of these three have won a trophy yet with these new squads, you must admit they are all better sides since making the additions. Real Madrid’s perceived failure last year was actually the highest point total a team has had in La Liga without winning the title.

Chelsea will not run away with the league if we eaxct revenge for the Stamford Bridge defeat and match their wins week in week out. As per AW we have the most complete squad since he has been at the club and need to show that we can deliver positive results consistently.

It’s only the first half of the season. The stats already make interesting reading. Personally for me… last weeks of April 2011 to final week, will be crucial to title run in. Anything can still happen… no team at the top of the table is safe or out of the running for top honours… even our Liverpool opponents could still make up ground.

arsenal…cannot win title this season also.our ver5 is out for season now.2season ago arsenal use to make big comeback drama this season they have lost their confident..1 goal spoil their game…i think time for arsenal to spend 50m…for few players which will last for 6 years…we have very good young talent at reserve.arsenal can enroll with it for atleast 5 to 6 years if they spend now…
