Wenger – Arsenal are ready for Man City “physically and mentally”
Arsene Wenger is well aware that it isn’t going to be easy to beat the League leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend, but he thinks that Arsenal are about as ready as they ever will be to rise to the occasion.
Roberto Mancini’s team have seen their form slip lately which has resulted in elimination from the Champions League and defeat to their title rivals Chelsea, but Wenger knows that Arsenal could suffer from a backlash.
He said in the pre-match conference: “They had two disappointments but they will want to respond,”
“Defeats always take a bit of confidence away from you but let’s not speculate on any weakness from their part and make sure on our side we are at our best level.
“It’s the second big test away from home for us. It’s a massive test and we know that you want to be at our best.
“We are ready for it physically and mentally. We are prepared and will give absolutely everything to win the game because we are in a position where we want to win the game.
“The one turning point in our season was the away test at Chelsea because we had not won away before that game.”
Wenger though feels that the Gunners can take the three points if they carry on their recent excellent form. He concluded: “You ask me can we beat them and I say yes. If we play at our best we can beat them, so let’s be at our best on Sunday.”
Arsenal are certainly in a better run of form than City, and even if they have to “win ugly”, I’ll just be happy with the three points!

mancini could get mesmerised with all this possession play of arsenal.losing against chelsea and directly coming to the emirates will not help him either.2-0 to the arsenal perhaps.nasri will surely play,as he was rested against chelsea.he will try to be on top of his game…….

we couldnt play them at a better time cos they somehow lost to chelsea and arsenal are easily better then chelsea.

I am not sure that we will win however we should try our best hence I agree with the above comment that this is what I felt when we went to play Chelsea on their ground and we won.
You never know on the day of the game. Hope we can win and collect the three points. I hope MAN C player get RED CARD and we can win.
Lets keep our fingers crossed hope that we can win if not I would not like us to be thrashed with couple of goals by them.

no pressure on us,a draw or a win wud b a bonus for us.aslong we keep a clean sheet wherelse thale carling cup shows we shud win it already bt we dnt hv a good finisher bt nw our first team wil show hw they wil do it against the big one.they wud b the favourites so no presure on us and play our own football.n keep the clean sheet again.that would be important.

Keeping in mind that it is an away match, i would be more than satisfied with a draw. Hoping for a win though.

remember, we beat chelsea at there home 5-3!!! No one in this world thought we would win..we did….we are way better then chelsea, and they ended up beating man c..we will win 6-0…i have faith

Don’t be getting all arogant saying we are way better than chelsea, we got a bit of luck against them in the malouda back pass, this will be one of our greatest test this season and im sure they play nasri and other array of wingers to punish our lack of Lb and Rb’s, i see them winning but if luck falls our way like at chelsea it will be yet another proud day to be an arsenal fan (mertesacker was shocking that day and gave chelsea 2 goals so not taking anything away from arsenal, just hate it when fans get gassed up cause we are on a good run of form)

We’ve had 2 extra days rest over Man City, which is a bonus. That has allowed our team to be more physically and strategically prepared. To be honest I’m not even thinking about a loss or draw. I’m confident we can get the win.
Obviously, it won’t be easy as Man City will be fighting for their lead over Manure and their fans will be right behind them. Every team in the league has their due loss of form and I can sense that Wenger smells blood! They’re not invincible like our 2003-04 team so what is there to be afraid of? Bloody nothing! (with Aussie accent)

In order to get a result on Sunday, AW should have Plan A and B. Plan is make sure we don’t concede a goal in the first half. Plan B is hit them hard during the first 15 minutes of the Second half, and them defend as team; catch them on the break. That way, i firmly believe, we can get a decent result. Rooting for the gunners!
