Wenger – Arsenal were tired but we can still win the League
Arsenal have gone from being supremely confident when beating Liverpool at Anfield and drawing with Man City at the Etihad, to being worried about facing even relegation candidates at home, in the space of just a few weeks.
Arsene Wenger thinks that the reason for the exagerrated slump is due to a congested fixture list, but he still believes that Arsenal can still challenge for the Premiership title. “I feel, yes, of course we are in the title race. Why not?” he said.
“It is a concern, because we looked quite solid defensively until now, and on Saturday we looked very fragile. I put that down to the fact that at 2-0 up instead of becoming more aggressive, we became a bit easier, instead of continuing to push forward to close them down.
“We let them play, and that was a big problem for us.
“When we were 3-2 down, we went for it and created chances again. The belief is not at its maximum at the moment, but I don’t think the result at Schalke helped the team. But we have to digest and come back again. That’s the game, that’s football, that’s sport.
“We have only lost one game at home, and on two set pieces until now. So I think Saturday was a little bit of a special day, but I believe we can defensively do much better.
“If we had scored the penalty, nobody speaks about it. ‘You had some dodgy moments in the game, but you won the game.’ Three points, that’s what we wanted today. We were close to doing it, and we have to do it in the next game.”
Arsenal are currently eight points behind third-placed Chelsea right now, and nothing less than a convincing three points against Tottenham next week will give us Gooners the slightest hope that there is a chance of moving back up into the top four, never mind winning the title…..
Win against spurs is a must.

I will be shouting for Spurs on Saturday, indirectly supporting Arsenal. I hope we get thumped so Wenger and deluded fans can wake up. Just ensure you play Giroud and Walcott together.I believe they do understand each other very well and will ensure spuds are tomented to the max.Plus have Scezny back between the sticks to Organize his defence.Manone has done well but i feel he is not marshalling protection from the guys infront of him and reminding them to man the opposition who seems to have field day in our box with setpieces.

This has become embarrassing for Wenger but more importantly for Arsenal. The players have been told that some of their performances aren’t worthy of an Arsenal shirt…well unfortunately Mr Wenger, neither are yours! You have lied to one of the biggest fan bases in the game and yet week in week out we pay more money than any other team in the country to watch the lie played out in front of our eyes… Einstein’s definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results’…ring any bells here Arsene?

First of all let me just say i love arsenal but after watching Liverpool and Chelsea yesterday i saw that the reason arsenal will never win the league as will Liverpool is the players they have. City from nowhere are now better than us and We cant say money here because we have been building a team for 7 years now. Wenger must just admit defeat and bring in a younger coach who has a point to prove that he can win Wenger to me has become used to loosing and using the same lies to the fans. and if us the fans keep accepting it, it will be 15 years no trophy. Even if arsenals form comes back of which it only will if players like Rosicky are back in or Diaby if he can stay fit of which he wont. but still Wenger must go. All the arsenal fans have to fall back on is Wenger won the league unbeaten but thats nothing we need trophies. Wenger has done wonders for arsenal but he has not won the league enough to compare to Fergie just being honest here. he has won 3 Premier league cups and 4 FA cups

With those stats Wenger does not seem so much of a great coach because he is good at talking thats why he has stayed for this long.
But all the years to come without winning will soon eclipse everything he has done if I was him i would step down.
Now why is the team not playing well? Its simple they just dont believe Wenger has what it takes any more to lead the team because Sagna who is the most consistent now plays badly even Arteta Even Carzola now in the last few games is been loosing the ball so it just shows you that the players in the arsenal team dont really train how they should, I think Wenger escaped back in the days with those players he bought who had the class even without his input they did all the dirty work. So now Wenger thinks he can win the league with below quality players its impossible. When ever as an arsenal fan arsenal plays a big club you get scared because you know they will loose now its even worse the smaller clubs can also beat us while Wenger has no tactics that can work with the kind of players we have. Dont get me wrong we have some players in the team here and there but we missing a manager who can accept defeat and formulate a better plan but no only Wenger goes and says the players are tired same excuse each year. its either they are tired or they had the hand break on, etc #WengerLies
So to me i have conceded what other arsenal fans once told me way back that Wenger must go but i protected him but now i see what they saw. he must go. you the fans must watch the players on the field. The new players will stay but the old ones who have been with him already know that arsenal is not ambitious and this is not about some one telling me to support the club regardless no its about a 4th richest club playing as though its a 500th richest club. when you are 4th richest you cant accept such.

@Chisa Welcome to reality mate, hopefully the rest of the Arsenal supporters, especially the ones living in England can also share your epiphany. Apologies to the fellow gooners on this site for my rather excessive use of profanity concerning our current dismal situation. Just really frustrated that is all…I will always support Arsenal, I just feel sorry for us fans and the players who are also being taken for a ride. I salute a player like Wilshere, wanting to become a legend like Adams, but I think if things continue to go this route, he will leave too like the rest of the ‘loyal’ players. I will not blame him either.
Wenger is becoming more and more transparent and he is slowly losing grip of the legend status he achieved all those years ago. Time to let go Wenger and leave with whatever dignity you still have left.

He’s thinking that we’ll finish higher in May because last season we clawed back from being in a worse position as we are now. He’s not taking into account though that we had a more solid keeper and Van Persie banging in crucial goals.
If it was said by any other manager it would show insecurity, but we know Wenger’s job is safe.

Once Ramsey plays… Forget winning Spurs; every game he has ended poorly for Arsenal. Ramsey is crap! The sooner Wenger realizes this the better for us!
Playing Wilshere alongside Cazorla is another poor decision by Wenger, they are both attack minded players, leaving only Arteta (who isn’t a natural DM) to shield the defence. Arteta – Diaby combo covered the defence very well until Diaby’s injury. Coquelin must be allowed to blossom just like Jenkinson did in Sagna’s absence. Wilshere should be an option for Cazorla who needs rest from playing too many times!

You guys know too well Mr Arsene Wenger… I think with Giroud, Carzola, Wiltshire, Walkout (oops typo!) the Ox, Arteta, starting I think we could get an advance from 3 point lane as they’ve had 2 loses them selves recently, we could end up picking up a few more wins… then Jan will come and (we’ll hear that famous line, if we can find a player to improve our squad, we’ll do it) then the window will close and the players giving their all will feel betrayed & crumble along with everything that was good about our beloved club … LFC here we come!

lots of hysterical comments on here, most of you seem to want us to go the way of leeds, break bank for players you have no idea will fit into team or prem league, then go bankrupt and drop out of division.
We SHOULD still finish top 4, look around we are still better then everton, spurs, newcastle who are our only real competitors for 4th.
chelsea came 5th last year despite everyone seeming ready to give them the title by November so see how we are set in January, if we are still way off pace then it’s time to start being concerned.

i dont think you can say we were tired coz if true then with a two goal lead our players would have sat back instead of gung ho maybe Arteta were as he looked uncharacteristically poor, F**K if only he had of burst the net we would feel a hole lot better, i cant believe we didnt let Giroud take it as he would have been soo up for it with him being full of confidence and on a hatrick also the confidence running through to the spu game, i know hindsight is a bitch but he would have been my choice with Walcott Cazorla Arshavin also ahead of Arteta as where Arteta plays now he would be ring rusty with not having many shots if any from inside the box

Just a question to the Wenger out brigade. …. I’m no wengerite but who do you think is good enough to replace him? Think about it the board probably put in a “yes” man so they can keep doing what they are doing a la venkys/ Blackburn and we all know how that ended. We need to accept top managers like mourinho, guardiola, etc will not come to ashburton grove at the moment because it’s obvious for all to see that the money is being invested somewhere and it certainly isn’t in the club. Here’s a simple question if Wenger has a “war chest” of £175m as some people are suggesting and he hasn’t spent it why didn’t they simply pay off that mmuch from the stadium., bringing the debt free and in theory good times forward? The reason is the money isn’t there. It’s been put elsewhere. Fraud is an ugly word so I won’t use it, but let’s be honest when Wenger goes it won’t solve the big problem.
