Wenger – At least we keep our unbeaten run going!
Arsene Wenger was not too unhappy at dropping two points to Fulham yesterday, and he thinks that his Arsenal team were still tired after the exertions of beating Borussia Dortmund in midweek to ensure qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
“The positive again is that we have shown exceptional spirit, desire and refusal to lose the game. Many players were on the fringe today and we had not completely digested the Champions League game on Wednesday night. We needed to dig deep.
“The circumstances went against us on top of that because when Fulham scored I didn’t see them crossing the halfway line too much in the second half. It was very unfortunate to be 1-0 down but we refused to lose the game can came back to 1-1. It’s disappointing because we dropped two points but at least it keeps our unbeaten run going.
“Maybe it was down to the sharpness of the mind, mental fatigue and a bit of physical fatigue as well. We haven’t recovered completely from the Champions League game – that happens sometimes. But we still had the potential to win 1-0 and if not 2-0 because early on in the game we could have scored. Maybe once or twice we were offside when we should not have been. We also lacked a bit of accuracy in our passing.”
The Gunners drop back to five points behind Tottenham and two points behind Chelsea, and Liverpool just need one point from todays game against Man City to 7th place, but, as Wenger said, at least we still have out unbeaten run going!
Now we just need to destroy Man City on Tuesday with kids!

Why does Wenger insist on playing Arshavin on the left, while everyone knows he’s better in the middle? Ramsey hasn’t been spectacular in that position, why not give Arshavin a chance? Its looking increasingly likely we’ll be offloading the Russian this January but did we really use him properly?

Above all, i admired n loved the fighting spirit of Vermaelen(he scored 2goals!!) n the whole team, we could hv losed u knw, bt lets blame it on fatigue frm tht Dortmund game where the players gave their whole, lets maintain tht spirit of not losing, am sure we’d make it, the squad is stronger than ever, 2-1 win against Man City, i bet my Yacht we’ll win!

Our players were visibly tired yesterday ( quite justifiably after a grueling ) CL match against Dortmund…
we could still have won yesterday had the opposition GK not made some fantastic saves..they scored a fluke goal ( completely against the run of play ) and we had to work doubly hard for the equaliser…
No complaints on yesterday’s performance- the team gave it all..Fulham also defended well, we must say. Just feels sad that we lost 2 vital points…else we could have reduced the gap for the Top 4 position… But I’m sure Totenham, Chelsea would drop points & o would Liverpool 7 Newcastle….
we must not slip anymore on these games… just a point in perspective – Do we really need Arshavin anymore ? Yesterday was his day to showcase & cement his position… to my mind, he was very ordinary ( as usual )….don’t know why he was there for 70 mins… gERVINHO INFACT OPENED OUR GAME WHEN HE CAME AS A SUB & CLEARLY SHOWED THE VAST DIFFERENCE in the attacking third….
Arshavin is supposed to be a vital clog &if he plays like this, we are not going to be benefitted much.
Hope we start winning from next match… We play Man City on Wednesday & hope we trounce them….

What were Arshavin and Ramsey doing on the field for up to 70 minutes?

It was a bit lacklustre from the Arsenal players on the weekend. Fulham defended well with 9-10 men behind the ball and we were far too slow in attack at times to do anything about it.
I’m not 100% convinced it’s to do with fatigue when after scoring the goal, they were filled with confidence and started attacking fast and left me wondering why we weren’t doing that from the start. First half looked decent, made me think we were going to win this easily if we stepped up a gear but we never did and we missed a lot of crucial chances (Ramsay in the first half, Gervinho in the second sticks out in my mind).
Over the last 2 games we have conceded 2 goals which have been the result of an Arsenal player overcomplicating things in our own final third (Song dribbling on right hand side vs Dortmund; Santos to Arteta in middle vs Fulham). Arsenal needs to keep it simple when it’s in our final third and pass it out to the half or clear it instead of this short passing or dribbling out of our third.

I know we should support our boys. We have dropped two point we should have won this game and would have left few points away from MAU U Tottenham etc.
I am worried now that we are going to loose RVP and may be Walcott. RVP wants to win trophie and I cannot see winning anything this year. I have concerns as well reaching top 4. I am sorry folks but this is how I feel.
I have my concerns as well on Tuesday. MAN City not good on Champions League but good with Premier League. But we still have to be behind our boys to support them.
So what do you think folks. Wenger has already mentioned that he is not looking for anyone in January Window Transfers. I didn’t watch the game nor the high lights because i felt too upset to watch. So I am not sure what our defence was like. We are good at attacking but lack of defending.

a change is as good as a rest. but arsenal does not have the depth of the likes of spurs to rotate the team. we need to sell at least 6 players, use the funds to buy three key players and promote potential youths like chamberlain to the main stream of football. fulham draw was a clear picture of how arsenal lacks the potential of strikers if RVP is not scoring. sell the likes of squillacci and bid for demba Ba from Newcastle. we need consistence if we have to move. it wasn’t a disappointment tough, it was a warning shot- January is here Mr Wenger, open your checkbook.

our defence has improved, no doubt, but they commit really silly mistakes at times. even in our previous match against norwich we could have kept a clean sheet had it not been for the error by mertesaker. such errors should be avoided.

why wenger dnt go for it earlier?bt wait aftr the goal.gervinho shud jst start the match n arshavin in the middle.ramsey shud cme in the scond half,f we gonna win it..it shud already in the first half we shud put in on bed.they play well,bt we cnot aford yet more losing points imeant two points.we’re playing at home we need to catch up the first place.hpefuly manshity lose later r a draw with liverfool shud b good.it they win yet again we will bhind for 14 points! we shud win that match n hail tv5!!it is nt hes fault.
we lack that creative spark in the final third. what gonna happen if tv5 n rvp injured, yet would b a disaster! yea we hv big squad mr. wenger..bt it is useles to keep almunia, squid, denilson, bendtner, chamakh.dnt need to mention bout their wages. not cnvincing. othrs need to step up already.
against manshity;
fabianski
yennaris-djourou-kos-miquel
diaby-coquelin
benayoun-arshavin-rosicky
chamakh/park
bring chambo in the scond half or start him from the first half with either benayoun r rosicky on the bench.who is manshity??cashri?? play our own footbal and gives preshre to their dfence.love to b the underdog for the match.we dnt need to b afraid,we play on our own home ground.they wil hv the presure.

almunia,squid,denilson,bendtner,arshavin,..jst hv enough with them.
rosicky, djourou, chamakh shud prove it sooner than later.but djourou seems to b back at hes best in that match, hpe he stay consistence.hpe tv5,mert,kos wil dveloped hem to b even better n b consistence n cnfidence.f he does like what he done against barca he cn hv a chance to stay. squid cn jst go n gt vertonghen.cn play centreback n leftback.gibbs is frustating! right back cud b jst alright.sagna, jenkinson, koscielny, djourou cn play there. rosicky gves him last chance this yr or nt let him go nxt summer. chamakh?? is he a striker??jst dnt knw. .hes good bt ddnt suits us. clear some of our fringe player wenger.espcialy the five or six players i mention above. we need someone like goetze..he cn also help ramsey.dnt think we need granero..we jst hv much of them. a good atacking midfield n a clinical finisher, ramsey cn improve but yet. …. we cn dpend on rvp ol the time,do step up evryone n mprove on the finishing!!

so he’s not too unhappy at dropping 2 valuable points – at home – to an at best mid-table outfit – who were thrashed on their own track by spuds last week…
not too unhappy about losing ground to chels – spuds and probably liverpool
so thats alright then….
just keep flogging the Arshavin dead-horse…and keep Benayoun (far more skilled and direct) for that rainy day 10 minute cameo

thought he played the wrong team. he only made one or two changes from the CL game. They didnt have the excitment or energy to finish off a week team.
Also why was the Emirates so dry? no one sang! the players need to give the crowd something and the crowd need to give the players something! we should of won. really disapointed.

…………… I mean come on, its just a game that ended up in a tie, …… just because we didn’t win this time, its not the end of the world, or suddenly wenger sucks. Start supporting your manager and your team through thick and thin if you really are Arsenal fans. Yes we should have won, and I’m quite sad that we didn’t but that’s no reason to start dissing Wenger. The only thing which Wenger really needs to start doing, is using other players who have very good potential; Benayoun and Chamberlain of course. We win, we lose, we draw.. just like every other team in football. Grow up and never give up.

The difference between a draw and a win was gervinho on the bench..Arshavin is the worst player in the league basically because he’s has a massive attitude problem..it’s slowly becoming hatred for me

they should not have been tired after the Dortmund match. It ain’t rugby
It is inconsistency and Wenger playing blokes out of position
