Wenger confident of home win against Sunderland
Looking at the League table Arsenal are only one point ahead of this weekends opponents Sunderland and should really expect a fight from Steve Bruces team, but Arsene Wenger thinks that the Gunners only need to carry on their more confident home form to take the points.
As the Frenchman is quick to point out, if you include the Champions League and Carling Cup games, Arsenal have won five out of their six games at home this season, whereas the Black Cats have yet to win an away game this season, so Wenger takes comfort from that fact. Wenger thinks you should put your money on Arsenal….
Wenger said: “Our home form is quite good so we just have to continue that at the moment,”
“We have been stable defensively at home but Sunderland is a team that has good potential if you look at their players. We had a disappointing result at Tottenham but we have to keep belief in what we do and the way we do it.”
Wenger is still hoping that a good run of wins will take the Gunners back into contention for the Champions League places, but having already lost four league games, he was asked how many more Arsenal could realistically lose and still stand a chance of making the Top Four.
“I don’t know how many games we can afford to lose, that depends not only on us but the other teams,” he said.
“We need to be consistent, that is what we need. Nobody can tell you today how many games you can lose to be in the top four, but you need to be consistent with positive results. We know that, and that is what we want to achieve in the next games.”
It is absolutely crucial that Arsenal get back to winning ways in this game, or their will be some very serious questions that need answering in the coming days, especially with a tough Champions League match coming up in Marseille on Wednesday.

If AFC lose or draw, this game or a few other games before January, it may not be a bad thing… the PL is probably beyond reach now anyway… the losses/draws SHOULD place more pressure on AFC’s transfer policy… perhaps a few more losses/draws will be the catalyst for a few, big name/big quality, inbound player transfers come January… names/quality such as Hazard, Hulk, Cahill would certainly not go astray in AFC’s current squad!!
Opinions divided. What do you think?

every statement from AW and board reveals how their level of ambition is declining
a couple of years ago he wouldnt dare to say such thing. beating Sunderland at home was an obvious demand not a desire

Dear Fans,
Such statements from Arsene further confirm that Arsenal is in free fall. That is a match that previously would not attract any media attention. But today, its victory is treated as if Arsenal have won champions League.

Mehrzad,
You hit the nail on the head mate because the current board and manager have no ambition at all.
We are even considering to buy Alex so that chelsea use the money to buy Diego Godin.
what a dreadful state of affairs when we are continuously signing rejects from other PL clubs.
Dein & Ushmanov Now.
