Wenger – Don’t be bitter when you Twitter, Jack!
Jack Wilshere loves his little pranks and playing jokes on his team-mates with Twitter, but Arsene Wenger thinks that the young midfielder overstepped the mark last weekend when he citicized the referee, Phil Dowd, after the loss to Newcastle.
Wenger doesn’t think his players should stop Tweeting altogether, but thinks they should think more carefully about what they say in public.
“I don’t believe you can stop the players using it because everyone has the freedom to press his point,” Wenger said yesterday. “You want it to be intelligent in a good way, in a positive way. The players can get closer to the fans and that is one of the positive aspects of it.”
“But let the referee do his job and let us make sure that we are 100 per cent right with our attitude and behaviour,”.
“We do not want to get involved in referee’s decisions, we want to take care of our attitude and behaviour.
“No matter what kind of decisions we had on Saturday we could have won the game and that is what we want to take care of.”
The last think Wenger needs is to have his players alienate the referees before they even kick a ball……

well – I think worse than this was the former liverpool player, Babel, rightly showing an epl Ref (and player! lol) in a manchester united shirt… he got fined for this.
Wilshere made a very good point ie why did diaby get sent off, and nolan only get a yellow for putting szcznecy in a headlock and throwing him to the ground? Jack was right next to them and couldnt believe what he saw.
Well done Jack! apparently phil dowd’s refereeing schedule has been amended!
