Wenger – England are playing with fear of failure, but France just have no confidence!
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is in South Africa commentating for French TV, and he believes that all the top teams, but especially England are hampered by their fera of losing.
“England came here with an expectation from everybody to win the World Cup.” Wenger said. “It’s not easy to deal with that. They want so much to do well that they think they cannot fail.”
“The biggest teams who have the highest level of expectation cannot express that talent yet.
“One reason is caution, fear of failure, response to huge demands. These teams will just glide through though, most of them, then you will see them really play.
“The lower (ranked) teams have done quite well and one of the things at the World Cup now is that there are no real weak teams any more who get beaten 10-0.”
“Basically, the big teams with high expectations play these first round games just to get through. I don’t think (they play that way) consciously but more out of fear of failure.
“There are so many demands in the modern game, too much pressure, too many expectations and sometimes too much inhibition.”
And what does he think of France’s performances so far? “We are down because we can’t win games. I believe that we had a low level of confidence going into the tournament.” he said.
“It did not help that we had three negative results before even coming into the World Cup.”

Like the host nation South Africa, England are just a nation of dreamers but no pedigree two games played no goals no wins yet,absolute rubbish ,carry on dreaming.
Dont put high hopes on England, that way you’ll save yourself from a heart attack. France? Ha ha , wont win unless thiery uses his hand again.
The problems of the english team lies in their media. The over publise and over rate the players. Everything about the players are in the press and the players in turn have the demi God attitute and this is not good for any team. I advice English players to play out the EPL. England will come back home soonest.
I mean English players should play OUTSIDE the EPL. There are no English players in the La Liga or any other league. They all play in the EPl.
