Wenger – I am worried that Kieran Gibbs will have to play every game now!
Gibbs to be put under stress?
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is upset that Gael Clichy has got a small fracture in his back and will now be out for a month or more, and he is worried that he will be putting too much stress on the young Englishman Kieran Gibbs by playing him in every game.
Wenger said: “We have lost Gael Clichy with a back injury, which was not expected. It looks like he could be out for a while.
“We fear a stress fracture of the back, and we will know more about that later, but if that is the case, he will be out for a few weeks.
“I still think it is a blow because I was very comfortable now to have a solution to rest Clichy when it was needed and play Gibbs.
“Now suddenly there is a huge stress on Gibbs to play in every game.”
But he also tried to look on the bright side, and said that he had confidence in the youngster, and also the extra pressure on Gibbs may give the England manager a boost by seeing Gibbs play regularly for the Gunners.
“Capello and England will be happy because they want Gibbs to play,” he said.
“I have no doubt about his quality and I have said that many times.”

Is Traore that far away from being ready?
Gibbs is getting better and better, i think he is just as good as Clichy is definsively
Just when Clichy was getting his stride back….. Anyway am sure Gibbs will slot in perfectly. I like the way he crosses the ball atleast his are better than clichy’s. And Mozart is back and Nasri and Eduardo should start tomorrow. Ramsey too and give Abou a rest. How far away is Denilson from fittness??
Where the hell is Traore??!! Is it only me who thinks Traore is better than Gibbs?Why should Wenger play Gibbs if Traore is available (assuming he is fit since no updates hv bn issued).
Gibbs is great, but it would be good to rotate him a bit with traore while clichy is out. Armand looked good over the summer so deserves a chance as much as gibbs imo.
gibbs will be fine the lad is ready for this!! who knows clichy may have a problem getting back in to the team??
Hes talented enough, it’s a lot to ask to play every game though. As long as it’s only a month he’ll be fine
