Wenger – I will look at my transfer options after the Man Utd game
Arsene Wenger yesterday denied that he had made his “panic buys” after the disastrous 8-2 defeat early in the season, but he is now leaving himself open to the same charges in this transfer window by admitting that he won’t be looking at possible defensive reinforcements until after tomorrows return game against the reigning Premier League Champions.
“Before Sunday’s game nobody will come in so we will have now to focus on the players we have,” said Wenger.
“I will assess the situation after the game on Sunday but until then nothing will happen now for us.”
Yet again Wenger is leaving it very late to bring in reinforcements, and if he suddenly gets active in the wake of another heavy defeat by Alex Ferguson’s team then he will be hard pressed to deny he is panic-buying once again.
Many Arsenal fans have expressed the worry that IF Arsenal can get a draw or actually beat Man Utd then Wenger will simply say that no reinforcements are needed…….

It shouldn’t take a beating by united to show we need players they should be brought in early so were the ones that hammer them I think we can beat them now if all are forwards perform well and step it up we have the ability to score alot of goals when on form and are midfeilders must help the defenders we need an all round good team performance some of these players need to prove there good enough to be in the squad and Sunday’s the perfect opportunity come on arsenal

I would like to think that if we win we will get confidence back and we could then get a couple of signings to give us an extra boost, that would be my ideal scenario. I can’t see how the result tomorrow has and bearing on new players coming in at all! We either need them or we don’t. whatever the result will all our injured players suddenly be fit? Will we suddenly have a top backup for rvp found hiding in a cupboard at the emirets? Will we have a decent leftback meaning our best centreback can play his normal position? If we lose and wemger buys then it is a load of crap, to little to late. Should have got players in after fulham result!

Please Man United come and do us a favour again by trashing us 6-0 maybe the professor will wake from his slumber again cos its like he’s in a world of his own right now. We need quality left and right backs but this man seems comfortable dashing out important points to useless teams. Ramsey shud be sent out on loan cos he doesn’t seem to realise he’s playing professional football at the moment. Wilshere please come back and take your place. Apparantly vermaelen and sagna have both suffered setbacks and santos is out for the season. wenger needs one of each a rb a cb and a lb. i would go as far to say we need 2 centre backs to really save.our season as the current crop koscielny aside are struggling with form or injuries or both. i say this is the no.1 are and i would snap up van der weil samba vertonghen and cissokho for a complete new look really sending out a message to the current batch. midfield i would buy a real enforcer like mvila sell diaby and rosicky and bring back lansbury. up front henry is clearly not up to it and we all know that arshavin chamakh and park are completely off sorts. Working on yr principle Chinmay; Roger Moore would still be playing James Bond, Botham wd be opening the bowling for England and Redgrave wd be getting his canoe ready for this summer. Arsene undoubtedly once great, like those above, has come to the end. That isn’t to say that he is everything that is wrong at the club, far from it. A change and new philosophy is needed.

Its really hard to know what the best possible outcome for Sundays game is. I kind of agree with alot of Arsenal fans that if we beat UTD Arsene will simply say we do not need any reinforcements. I would be worried if this is the attitude and slightly naive. However, I still want Arsenal to beat UTD. Need some revenge!!

A real ‘Johnny come lately’ then. Not only will he not make top 4, he is unlikely to make top 6 – and it is all down to his misguided attempts to buy cheap (or not at all). Injuries yes, but that is what happens when you have a preponderance of young players, who are unable to cope with the rigours of the PL, coupled with coaching which concentrates on ball skill and pretends that tackles are what other teams use – ask Clichy. So when our defenders DO tackle, they are so underprepared that they mistime consistently and either get injured, or sent off!
What a mess – yet I like the guy!
When did you last see Pat Rice open his mouth – during a game, never mind at other times? Arsene you need to be able to take others points of views on board and not need ‘yes’ men around you – but then you know that too don’t you?

Am not happy with AW. Why is Man u game being used as a starndad measure for whether Arsen buys or not? We wanted cahil, taiwo and. … but we never bought. Lets lose heavily so that Wenga knows how weak we r and how we need defenders and left backs b4 facing AC milan and FA cup. Tomorow we will see.

AW has to look long term and the result is imiterial! We need to get QUALITY replcements for defence- Samba and Vertonghen, midfield- M Villa, Gotze, Hazrd and a super striker- Podolski, Ba. It wont be panic buying as the panic has already set in for us fans. We have already lost out on too many players who have signed this month. Please AW and Board get your act together and get us into top4. We can’t wait for all our injured players to recover as we will be too far behind.

What is the best thing for the future of the club….to lose badly….and buy….to give us more chance of getting into the top 4….or win or draw and do not buy…and lose any chance of making it into the top 4 and as a result, big name players that would help us win the title and other thing, will not want to came to the club?
