Wenger is taking the blame for the Arsenal board
Arsenal fans have been getting more and more fed up and frustrated for years, as the lack of a trophy stretches ever onwards and we have had to stand and wave goodbye to our better players and captains year after year. It has got to the point where we dread the summer transfer window rather than anticipating what new players might come in.
Up until recently, Arsene Wenger seemed fairly bombproof in all of this, with a small minority of fans, including Adam Kemp, blaming Le Prof and calling for a change. Over the last few weeks and after some shocking performances and results, there has been a groundswell of support for the Wenger Out brigade, and I think we are missing a trick.
Wenger has been the buffer between the board and it’s refusal to spend a penny of it’s own cash. His ability to work miracles on a shoestring has allowed the board to massively increase the profitability of Arsenal while doing very nicely themselves, all at no risk to their own vast amounts of money.
Gazidis has been promising money, just around the corner, for years. Wenger is the one who has had to reshape his team every year, and has somehow managed to keep us in the Champions league every season as well. To me, he looks like he has had enough. After all he has done, to have the fans now blame him instead of the board must hurt him, personally.
So all the board have to do to absolve themselves is to sacrifice Wenger, install a new manager and give him some money, that they should have been giving to Wenger. It’s not right, but I can see it happening. Gazidis has been hinting that the board have been offering to back Wenger, but he has declined to spend. If you believe that you will believe anything.

Funny, and article on this site earlier bagged the shit out of Wenger.
Do you want to have all bases covered,or can’t you make up your mind??

I believe that this is true. What manager in their right mind would want to let their best players go? Makes no sense what so ever, it has to be the board, there is no way Wenger would have allowed RVP to leave this summer. However the only way out of this I believe is Wenger leaving. This would mean that the board would have to give money to the new manager as he won’t be as loyal or tolerant as Wenger. Pep Guardiola is my personal favourite.

There is a lack of investment by the board no doubt in fact I would go so far as to say they are a greedy bunch of liars. However Wenger still picks the team and gives the team talk. His team lacks passion and cohesion and that is down to him and his coaching, the lack of quality is down to the board.

Wenger to be honest is his own enemy. Fine, I understand he may have a clause in his contract gagging him but by not been able to say the truth ( which I believe there is a “truth” to be said ) the fans will be justified to heap blames on him.
His recent statements suggests the board have not been supportive enough. For instance, “you can not claim to be a big club” statement re-Cesc and Nasri about 2 years ago is obviously directed to the board.
And yesterday, he did hinted the board has not been supportive enough : It’s difficult to answer that straight away after a game like that. I cannot say no, but I believe the support from the board is there to spend the money if we find the players.
That to me, is like saying ” well, I am beginning to have the support of the board but I can not say for sure till January.
Having said that, Wenger also needs to ask himself questions in regards to his tactics and team selections.

Lol wenger is the 4th highest paid manager in world football i guess plus our board esp gazidis is earning well over 2m per annum apparently for doing nothing. All he does is sit in the board and plan how to increase his salary further next year or how much to increase the match tickets prices and gives us false hopes that we will be competent in 2 years time when fair play regulations will be implemented.

When Diaby was playing, we were winning. Since he has been injured, we are losing or drawing every match.. Arteta had good understanding with Diaby. but now Arteta is playing with so many other midfielders. Last year he had a great combination with song and we have seen it very well…. we are putting lot of pressure on Wilshere. He needs time and he should not be thrown straight into action after every four days… Diaby we miss you. you are the engine of this team, If diaby does not be fit then we need another strong Defensive midfielder…. arteta, cazorla needs rest… rosicky is back thats good news

Get it people.. Even if you bring Falcao or Iniesta here, before long, they will start looking like ordinary players. I have said before that the current wenger destroys players. He destroys them by either not playing them when he should or playing them out of position. He doesnt believe in tactics(someone tell me what he is doing here then).
Most of the people we are calling deadwood, do you guys remember when they fist came here? Including Chamhck, Arshavin and Vela? When they leave, you see them play well at their new clubs. Cant we see what is going on?
Wenger hides behind not buying quality as an excuse for underperforming because he knows that if he spends and still doesnt perform, the jury will be finally out on him. This is why the board always announces that there is money to spend but Wenger would never ask for it.
For some seasons now, Wenger would always say that there are no quality available but its at the same time that Laudrop went and got people like Pablo on the cheap(just 5mill), Michu(just 2mill) and Maicon and Julio Ceasar were available on free transfer. But Wenger has a phobia for established players cause he doesnt want any players questioning his tactics(or lack of it). This is also why, when the greenhorns he lines up for Arsenal, grow up to be mature men and become knowledgable in what obtains elsewhere, they desire to leave.
WENGER is the problem. A lot of mordern coaches will get better results with the current players we have(All full internationals for their countries).

i think that 70% of our problems are board related and 30% Wenger. lets be honest… Wenger is just not the manager he used to be. we are getting worse every season that passes. No matter what’s going on at board level Wenger and the team should be beating Swansea at home jaded or not! We need major change, the board need to go and get some people in that actually know a thing or two about football! Then i think that we may need to change manager

Ok fair enough IF Wenger hands are tied, it makes his job difficult but in saying that, he still has to chose the 11 players he puts on the field, what position he plays them in, when to make substitution and what formation he uses.
Team getting jaded change them up
Played a few bad games bench them
same formation not working, trying something new
Look!…. I like Wenger, what hes done for the club is amazing but that the past, 7 years no trophy. Hes probably tired himself.

The board are paying Wenger one of the highest salaries in World Football to get ordinary players and finish in the top four. He has excelled in getting so many ordinary players that any player who is any good will leave. That way a select group of agents (some of them with very close ties to Wenger and David Dein), make loads of commission. The club make a profit on player sales and claim to be a ‘Model’ Football Club.
This was bound to come to a head sooner or later. I Will be a Gooner again when the money-grabbing board and Wenger are replaced, but not by anyone previously associated with the club.

Wenger may not be the root of the problem – but a manager should fight for his team and funds etc . If he wants to take all the blame then that shows how weak he really is . If it was any other top manager they’d tell the board to “back me or sack me”!then the scum cud face the full backlash instead if hideing behind a broken man . It’s not nice to slate wenger – I agree – but unfortunately theyr has to be deep changes and if ur not helping the problem then ur hindering the club . Hold ur head up high arsene – walk out and tell us wot the hell is goin on and get ur legend title back – cos no matter wot some people say on here – WE DO NOT FORGET WHAT U HAVE DONE – we just need major change .

This is exactly the type of shit i hate reading from this website. A lot of you keep living in the past.
Are you actually trying to tell me that Gazidis and Kroenke picked the team and substitutions, tactics n all for the last 3 games?
No, it was wenger, and they were the most poorest decisions i have ever seen since i started to know about football.
1. against aston villa we play shit because he puts on a shit team and puts players in the wrong positions, then subs giroud for coquelan when we need a goal what a dickhead.
2.against everton he starts vermalean at left back, ramsey on the right wing. These arent their natural positions. Did gazidis pick these? Then when we still need a goal he subs coquelan for cazorla and he does some dreadful long pass when looking in a fairly promising position. he also brigns on le forhead when there is oxlade chamberlain and rosicky sitting on the bench. Yeah gazidis did this too didnt he?
3. against swansea was just pure shit i dont even wana f###in talk about it.This dumbass is tryna say that gervinho is a better striker than walcott, which is just an insult.
my point is, i’m not saying the board isnt to blame, because they are, but wenger picks the line up,tactics and everything and if those are the major factors which are making us lose then surely it is his fault too?
i am just sick of wasting 90 minutes every weekend when i could be fu###ng my girlfriend, but instead i am sitting around on a freezing chair at the emirates stadium, or on front of the tv watching this bag of shit team being managed by a thick man and the fans are being deluded by the past. I dream these days of waking up in the morning to hear sky sports news announcing wenger bein sacked, but it is lookin less likely each day.
Well i aint ruinin my weekend with another 90+ minutes of pure shit im just gona go out there and enjoy myself, come home, check the final result and just shrug my shoulders
in fact i used to go and watch match of the day all the time becuz arsenal usually win and when they dont they atleast play decently and score a couple goals. Now we just play like pure shit we cant even make a single chance, in fact we cant even pass the f###in ball anymore. But now i only watch it when we won the game as a bare minimum because i dont want it to ruin my night too. and i think i only watched match of the day like 4 times this season? says it all really.
Van persie fair enough shouldnt have gone to our rivals but now i understand him because he knew what was happening behind the fans backs.
i hope your happy Mr. Wenger and your jolly crew of board members. enjoy your financial ‘trophies’. go shove more dirty cash up ur backside.

I keep saying it, fans need to make a statement and make it clear that we -the FANs – are also stakeholders in arsenal, the interesting thing is , the only pay back we are asking for is a solid and competitive squad, good performance and ultimately a trophy.
Is that too much to ask? If we boycotted arsenal matches and hit the board where it hurts (their pockets! ) – then they’ll start to listen. Yes, we may have divided opinions but we’re not silly.
For me, the breaker was when we sold van Persie rather than let him put in another good shift and risk him going for free! I knew then that the board just not give a damn !

Well I believe AW is not spending the money, I think is quite clear that we have money from our financial results published recently. When had AW ever spent big money on players? If you think Arshavin was a big transfer they were clubs lower than us buying for much higher. AW philosophy is such that he buys average joe’s and convert them into world class. Its always been the case at Arsenal since his tenure, so even if you show him the money he will stick to his principles and philosophy, the problem is that he is slow loosing his talent to get the best out of his players and all the world class talent he made are not more at the club. So the players thats left at the club are all average joe’s acquired by Wenger and are not even close to being world class. Now he finds it hard to sell them off because of their high wages some of them warm the bench and the rest sent out on loan. The current squad we have are no where close to the invisibles except for the likes of Santi C and Jack (still finding his form). Like how stella lost her groove AW sure lost his groove many years back unfortunately the fans have kept the faith in him for far too long the fat lady had sung when we moved to the Emirates and now we are facing a mid table battle. For those WENGER WE TRUST band wagon he is only human and surely he is not bigger than the club. The club need a new direction that can only happen if AW leaves.

Man United have a faced a lot of crisis over the years and their board is almost worse than ours. How come a team like that can lose almost all their defensive players yet still be on the top of the table? Imagine if we had the likes of Squillachi, Miquel and various other inexperienced players at the back right now, we would be destroyed. HOWEVER, we have almost a full strength team, and we still can’t win games. How can some of you Arsenal supporters shout that we need M’Villa or a big CDM to help us out. No, the players don’t look bothered because they just have this attitude of “oh we have the next match” or “oh it will work out, we can pick it up.” That kind of attitude is broadcasted by the manager and his staff, we need someone who will tell the Arsenal players that if they don’t play for their lives, they better not come back into the dressing room.

Just out of wonder who do all the “wenger out” brigade think we are gonna get 2 replace him!? coz pep aint gonna come! This is our most depressing time in recent years no doubt, what we need is to keep a team together for more than 1 fxcking season! that way they will actually have some chemistry! No wonder we are not creative and free flowing atm because they only met eachother a few months back! The board need to man the fxck up and go all out in jan and the summer and actually give us some firepower! Buy Cavani and hamsik from napoli as they have a massive goal threat and chemistry and get a decent centre back and left back. Sell gervinho, santos, chamack, ramsey, squid, djorou. Promote gnabry and eisfeld. bring back ryo because he is electric! and maybe we might have a chance at finishing top 4. I also think we need to switch formation because the current one is about as good as a nun in a gangbang.

According To Gazidis, it is Wenger that makes the decisions! Just last week he said – “I think we will be able to be more financially competitive and that will enable us to push forward on the field,”
“We can pay bigger salaries and I think we can invest more in transfer fees. How we make those decisions will be based on a manager whose judgment, over the years, has been shown to be outstanding. There’s nobody I would like to be thinking about those types of decision more than Arsène Wenger.”
So who’s telling the truth????

Get them in early for training, shout at them, stop being a caring father figure and start being the boss who people are afraid of but respect at the same time. Drop players who are out of form, sell players that are injury prone or not performing, terminate contracts if they have to, just get the players in there toes and thinking they need to perform or there goners, no more easy rides please

Who and where was Wenger before he came to Arsenal? He was relieved of his job at Monaco and went to Japan to reorganise himself before he was brought here.If you could give him a chance at Arsenal in that state, why on earth are you people thinking that only him can handle this club? Or that there is no other person? The longer he stays here, the deeper the root and the harder it would be to eventually make a change. And all this while nothing changes in the way things are run.

Everybody, manager and board must go is the chorus. The players are not good is the refrain. Kick all of them out is the anthem. The same team beat Tothenham, WestHam and Liverpool. The same team qualified from the group stage of UCL where the likes of City failed and Chelsea struggled, yet we say they are bad. Why don’t we face the reality. The criticms of the team, the abuses and the name callings of the manager, players and board by the fans are too much and utterly bad. The fans don’t believe any of them . I warned that the protest by the Evil Scarf Movement would backfire and it did. No player can play in this atomsphere of disorderliness and expect to perform. Bring Angels as manager and players, they will fail in this tumultuous environment. The fans, I mean the useless vocal devilish fans are killing the club and they are hired agents by Usmanov. Just wait and see, Chelsea fans have been rubbished, when Usmanov comes, it would be our turn.

Six Things that Wenger should take a serous look at:
1)A new Football Director, personally feel the departure of David Dein has its impact.
2)We have to go back to the basics, all players defend, pass and play players in their best position and keep it simple.
3)Get rid of the deadwood and bring players capable of challenging for positions in, you don’t have to break the bank for this.
5)Stop the sale of our best player, as we re suppose to improve on them not start to rebuild
6)I think a 4-4-2 would do us a little good at dis point in time.

Arsenal are irrelevant in potential tittle winners. They must spend big now as there is no other way out.The likes of Ramsey, Gervino not excluding contract rebel,Walcot and several average players are not top class players yet recievong wages the likes of Milan and Juve can never pay,This is where I blame Wenger cos he brought these mediocre but keep complaining of not finding quality players. It pains me to criticise Wenger bearing in mind his achuevements in this once great club. The exit of Dein and coming of croocked Gazidi and Zombie KRoenke has made things very hard for him.But Arsene got it wrong by always bringing average players on high wages. Am not saying we must compete with Man City or Chelsea and Man U but what about Norwih,Aston Villa, Swansea, Stoke and the likes? I refuse to accept this, not even Spurs.I will advice Wenger to quit if he is not getting the necessary financial backing from the shrewd board at least to save the good name he struggled to make all these years.

Taking the blame for the board – another blog posting attempting to build up and cover for Wenger. Being in bed with and being beholden to tyrants is a far cry from Bob’s assertion that Wenger is such a great guy he is willing to cover for his bosses. Hogwash. Wenger designed and created and implemented this new Arsenal in full partnership with his bosses. He could have taken a stand to maintain the old Arsenal. He chose not to – a path which sounds far less honorable than Bob’s slanted version of reality.

@tomm: Highlighting Wenger’s recent blend of failures and sellouts is not the same as denouncing Wenger as a person or his record as a whole. Sadly, in many sports, coaches lose sight of their original aims and become machines of the administration.
More importantly, many successful coaches begin to believe the hype – that they are invincible and that every decision they make, no matter how stupid, will turn into gold simply because they made the decision. Happens in all sports in all nations.
The question is… will Wenger be one of the those leaders who reccognizes where and how he took the wrong path and right it? Will he return to the course marked by true desire for excellence or will maintain the current path of being a highly paid lapdog to his bosses while defending his ego and spiting his critics above all other priorities? So far, he has not moved from the latter course.

i think this article is dead on in terms of the relationship between Gazidis and Wenger. A lot of u blame Wenger for the poor games lately, which I must agree. But a big part of losses was down to a limited choice of players. And that has LOTS to do with the board. Whether we can spend more money to get our ideal players is down to the board. IIRC, we’ve been missing out MANY of those. Other thing about selling our best players is down to the board not willing the pay those salaries, resulting in players leaving sooner.
let’s face it, Van Persie may not be loyal, be he’s a top player. Mancity has a team of mercenaries, but they do better than us now.
It’s not that ALL of our players are bad, but you can’t ask all of the core players to play every game full 90, when clearly they couldn’t.
Our results speak for itself, We had a good start, players were playing well aside from the offense lacking cohesion.
now we see the cohesion, but all the rest are dead tired.
simply put, it is a lack of quality on bench that leaves us predictable and all our players tired as a result.
Wenger is responsible for not spending as much as he could in the summer and gambled on Diaby becoming match fit.
The board is absolutely disgusting by being so greedy and throw the club down into this current situation by simply not spending.
The only way to actually save arsenal is to once and for all is to uproot Gazidis and his men out of the club before they suck more out of us like a parasite.
Even IF u take Wenger out now but not this board, chances are we’ll fall into league 1 sooner than Reading.
I hope there is a way legally that we can get rid of this board and actually get them to spew all that money they’ve swallowed back into arsenal…

Get lost Bob with your stupid article. If wenger not to blame why is he always lying to us that he has enough money for new quality signings?During the transfer window he claimed to have enough money and that we have depth in DM,what is it now?And you are out there claiming he is not to blame! You are part of those who are putting forward personal feelings towards Wenger instead of facing the reality.Stop this nonsense “In Wenger we Trust”.No trust any more. And doees not help anyone.
