Wenger – I’ve ignored the fans opinion before, and I was right!
Arsene Wenger has given a little insight into how he conducts his transfer business, and he says that although the Arsenal fans are desperate for him to bring in reinforcements it doesn’t mean that to do so is the right thing for the club, which he feels is more important.
As an example he remembers last summer, when everyone was begging him to buy a new goalkeeper, whereas now his decision to promote Szczesny and Fabianski suddenly looks like a good idea.
He was asked if he was “under pressure” to bring in some top quality players, and Wenger replied:”Think about the goalkeeping situation for example, where everybody pushed us to buy a player,”
“Today that situation has changed.
“You have to be open-minded and humble, but also determined when you have beliefs. We care about opinions, but at the end of the day you have to make decisions. I personally try to do what is right for this Club when I make a decision.
“I look at the opinions of people, of course, but if I feel deeply about a decision then I do it. It is sometimes controversial. I do not think I know everything about football but I have massive experience.”
He certainly has more experience than us armchair fans, but does that make buying cheap the right thing to do????

Dear Wenger,
AS a modern manager, i would expect you to know what SWOT analysis or envestigative journalism are all about. To refer fans as “arm chair managers” is simply absurd and lack of respect. Arsenal doesnt need to employ a consultant to carry out any systmatic dygnosis of its state of affairs. All that has been done for you.You dont need to be a football club manager to carryout the SWOT analysis of a club.People out there have the required technical competence to do the right analysis.
Blagging that you ignored fans opinion to buy a goalkeeper is simply childish. A 6 year trophless period simply summarises your failure in making/taking timely decisions. Ask yourself one fundamental question, Szczesny has come up, very good and its welcome, but at what cost in terms of time, trophies, brand equity, goodwill etc.
Open up and lestin to positive critisms.

fire AW & the board or arsenal is going nowhere, fans are tired of waiting for trophies which are not coming.AW & the board have taken the patience of fans for granted,6 yrs is a long period for a big club like arsenal to have won nothing at the expense of loyal & comitted fans.

We were awful! Words cannot described how bad I feel, I want someone to wake me up n tell it was all a dream n that we didn’t get battered n raped by united. It was like a car crash but in slow motion. I knew we would lose but not 8-2. No top team loses 8-2 in this day and age. AW u can make all the excuses u want but ultimately the fact that our squad is so heavy on youth rather than experience is down to u. Yes we had players out injured and suspended but u can’t use injuries as an excuse three games into the season. Out of the players injured only jack and TV are first team regulars, We are constantly told we have money to spend but we are not spending it in the right areas. Our defence is the biggest joke in the country, when u realise that djourou us not good enough for arsenal. No way would adams or bould have been out muscled with such ease. Kochelsny is not a premiership defender cause he isn’t strong enough or defensively minded. Poor jenko and traore just left to fend for themselves. We need 2 centre backs (properly only get one, so will be with these donkeys). Cahill is a must and either samba or alex for steel. We are crying out for a holding midfielder, someone who will sit in front of the back four like makaele did for chelsea cause we are too open. Yann m’villa is definitely that player. He is big and powerful. We lack creatively with nasri and fab gone so if wenger continues to play 433 then we need some creativity in midfield. Linked with kaka, hazard, lucho all these players would be a welcome addition to the squad. We need a proven goalscorer not some unknown from france because chamakh is clearly not up for the job. We need to sell arshavin because he was awful. Lastly and probably more importantly, I’ve heard NOTHING from the club in any form of apology for that awful result. They should come and say sorry to all the arsenal fans because we pay top dollar and deserve some bloody answers! I doubt they will refund those die hard gooners who travelled up to OT to watch that shambles. If wenger doesn’t sort out the defence, we could lose to swansea and then he will really have to go.
Get out ur chequebook and sign some players u tightwad and stop giving us the same excuses every year. I don’t wanna hear we are a young team cause united had a young team and they destroyed us!

AW,
We dont need your apologies, what we need are experienced, qualified players!!!!If you want to run Arsenal as a business, we ok with that, but remember who are your customers? it is us the FANS!!!
I would have bet my life that Arsenal couldnt have lost by that margin. NO excuse of youth coz United were even younger…. that was sheer incompetence of the players plus coach.
Why blame the Coach? when you approach a game with a depleted side, you change your strategies and be more cautious attacking and concentrate on tightening your defence. At worst he could have changed strategies at half time!!!
We need an experienced left-back; we need an experienced centre-back; we need an experienced holding midfielder to cover for Song’s absence; We need a play-maker to replace Fabregas; We need a central striker to cover for VP; We need a left-winger…………Damn we need an overhaul of the team—— Is that possible with 2days to go & AW’s transfer attitude………..

Ever since the Champions League Final like a bar of soap in water this Team has started to desintegrate. Building a young Team to win the Premiership can be achieved but it needs technical players who are dam right physical as well. They need pride illustrated by a fantastic workrate for the whole match/season !!
Arsenal need to sort out the defence to act as a unit as in the days of Tony Adams. 1st and foremost stop people playing in our half.Midfield to bite in and forwards to be alert and on the move. Basically World Class Centre Halves and Top Sriker and more experience in midfield.
Finally and most importantly a Manager who tells people clearly what he wants and those who don’t conform or not good enough get replaced by somebody else in the squad.
I’ve been an Arsenal man since the late 60′s and this last performance is the worst I’ve ever seen by Arsenal. When I played Football and was occasionally on the end of a good thrashing I kept going until the end and earnt the respect from my opponents. Come on Arsenal lets sink the titantic and build a new ship !!!!

AW – Was great manager. But time has changed so should Arsenal. We never understood philosophy of young team but successful team blend of mixed players. (young dynamic and mature experienced).
AW really need to understand SWOT and follow some modern mgmt techniques. Get some strong mental player who wants to die for Arsenal not game warmers like Rosicky,Koshichelny,Abu diaby,Carl jenkinson,Djourou,Squillaci,Arshavin who dont give even 40%.. Total disgrace..
