Wenger – Park is ready for Premier League and Arshavin has great impact
After Arsenal’s impressive win against Bolton in the Carling Cup last night, Arsene Wenger was very pleased with the performance of his young team, helped by older players like Arshavin, Park and Benayoun.
But he was particularly impressed with Ju-Young Park, who was only playing his second game for the Gunners and scored the winning goal, and he now believes that he is ready for the first-team squad.
“For me, I’m very pleased with his performance,” Wenger said. “He showed intelligent link play and the quality of his goal was exceptional. His finishing is absolutely fantastic. For me he has shown tonight that he is a very good player.”
“He’s ready to play for league games, compared to the player who played in the first league game, where he was a bit inhibited; tonight he played with freedom and showed what a good player he is.”
Andrei Arshavin is often criticised for being a bit lazy during games, but Wenger thinks that he is under-estimated and last nights goal and assist showed his ongoing class.
Wenger added: “Sometimes because he takes a big gamble on every ball he plays, he looks sometimes as though he loses some balls he shouldn’t lose, but if you look at the end of the game he always has a big impact of the game, tonight he scored and made an assist. He had a good performance tonight.”
All in all it was an excellent game for the team, and the Gunners can go into the match against Chelsea with a full head of confidence this weekend.

Concentrate on the good things not the mandatory blame laying that most losing managers insist on spouting. Park is as anticipated an intelligent “on the shoulder” forward and a natural goalscorer unlike Chamakh. Park needs games to assess how good he can be. Arshavin is clearly better in that role now older and somewhat bulkier he finds it difficult to impress as much on the wing, especially with three marking him. He is however still a very clever player. Miguel has class, Ox, Ryo, Frimpong and Coquelin all need time and games at a higher level to sharpen up mentally. Like most Wenger sides its all good for the future. Lets hope we have a spirited performance against Chelsea

Park showed quality last night with a superb finish but I don’t think we shud get 2 carried away with rselves as, after all, bolton displayd sum piss poor defending for both our goals. Nonetheless I was delighted with the result and going in2 a chelsea away game on the back of a victory over a premier league opposition can never be a bad thing! Cum on the gunners!

arsenal have stopped their ‘comedy of errors’.they seems to be thoroughly professional grinding out the results,thanks to strengthening the defense(which was lacking for quite a few years).so there is no cause for fear against bigger teams,especially after those signings.and oh btw,terry is embroiled in a controversy(distraction),bosingwa and drogba suspended.and vermaelen available for selection on saturday…

sign kalou in january. Take it or leave it,kalou is a master of thn wings in 4-3-3 formation,epl experience and score importang goals. kalou and gervinho on our wings wil be more productive than walcort. And walcort can be a super sub and also make our bench strong.

new rumours that barca is now intrested to tke theo walcot..is our team as the feeder to those club?manshity and barcelona..we feed them with our players after we developed them..

Arshavin would be good behind the striker but Ramsey covers way more ground defensively in the middle. Best not to risk it for Saturday, but Arshavin can come off the bench in the 60th or so depending on the flow of the game.

I feel arsenals’ fan has been unfair to Chamakh. I really think he’s still a good striker as shown in the Blackburn match where he came on as substitue and scored a world class headed goal from Van Persie’s cross with two (not one) defenders marking him!
To make it more significant the 2 defenders who are marking him are Samba and Scott Dann, both are Arsenal’s transfer target!
He’s a penalty box striker with speciality for headed goals. In the Stoke game, it’s not really his fault where he failed to score, the are NO crosses for him to head towards goal! Can anyone tell me how many crosses Arsenal made into the penalty box from open play? Almost NONE!

TV5 can play right or left back…this could be interesting..he is good everywhere he play.
