Wenger promises to attack in Milan
Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal must score an away goal when they visit AC Milan on Wednesday to make it easier to qualify for the next round.
He said: “You always have to push for a goal when you play away in the first leg because it gives you a cushion for the second leg,”.
“We will try to score, of course – we always do. The system rewards the audacious away from home.
“The way it is with the away goal, you have to be focused to score and therefore it is important that you play your game.”
To boost the players confidence he reminds everyone of some great European nights for Arsenal in Italy and further afield, but especially the night three years ago when the Gunners became the first British team to ever beat Milan at the San Siro.
“I felt it was such a great night because we stayed faithful to our game and played without complexity,” he said.
“I remember that even Milan said the better team won. So let’s keep that in our memory and repeat the same performance.
“We have had quite a few good performances away in the Champions League over the years, and we are very proud of them. We won in Madrid in 2006, 5-1 at Inter Milan in 2003, and the 2-0 win against AC Milan in 2008.
“When you look back and remember, you realise that we have won at almost every big stadium in Europe. Yes, we have not won in Barcelona, where we have played a draw, but overall I think we have won everywhere.”
So we can look forward to another attacking game in midweek, and an exciting one too. The only clubs to have beaten Milan there this season are Inter Milan and Barcelona so we will be in illustrious company if we come away with a win!

yes, it should be, to qualify for the next round.I hope arse can do all things against AC.milan to pass to the next round. overall arse should depend on attacking to score more goals which is away from the emirates stadium than it became easy at the emirates. I WISH GOOD CHANCE FOR ARSE WHICH I LIKE AS MY HEART BEAT. ARSE SUPPORTERS (TARIKU)

Looking forward to it, A farewell goal from Henry is in store!
We’re gonna run the old men ragged at Milan. I don’t like hearing reference to the old results that were achieved by a totally different Arsenal squad though. Let’s stand on the achievements of this squad this season when nobody gave us a chance and not repeat our mistakes from this season either. If we attack like we can and let the Px loose they won’t be able to handle us

lets hope Theo puts in a shift like against Blackburn as we all know on his day he can be unplayable with that pace, I do fear a bit for our defense as Milan have got a brilliant attack and can definately cause us some problems but if Kosc plays like he did against Barca last year it should be all good.
I would like to point out as well, wheres Adam Kemp?? you know, the guy who said we are going to finish mid table, I bet he was wishing we lost yesterday just so he could come on here and moan yet again. Any money says that his next post will be after we lose/draw to a team we should probably beat and he will say stuff like ‘after taking a back seat and watching arsenals previous games’ and ‘wenger is dragging this club down’ etc. yet as soon as we do really well hes no where to be seen, disgraceful!
anyway cmon you gunners!

Yes, this is our problem….
We win 2 games – against Blackburn & somehow against Aston Villa & some idiots become blind…
Everyone is delighed that we are in 4th place after a long time & we understand the importance of yesterday’s win…but just to go gaga over one fantastic cross from Arshavin & making him look like a divine interpretation is stupid…
we would all love to have Arshavin back in form…that doesn’t ean that we can’t criticise him when he is not playing to his potential…same with AW ….
We all know his greatness & contribution to Arsenal but we can’t keep worshipping him in delirium specially after we are trophyless for 7 seasons…
and look at our situation…we are bloody 4th in PL … And just after 2 wins against mid-table sides have made us forget all the doom & gloom….
Bloody assh.les – we have not won a trophy in 7 LONG yrs….
Would like to see some fans with ballls of steel…not some dimwits who fancies suckng AW all the way to his coffin

I would like to read this sometime after the season. ‘ Despite a disasterous start to the season the gunners went on to be the first london club to lift the champions league trophy. It was a big moment for the gunners who had lifted The FA cup just a few weeks before and managed to finish 3rd ahead of rivals spurs in the league.’ thats my vision for the gunners!

Really sad i cant be there to cheer them on
but im sure they will do a great job no doubt about it! AC Milan are not the team they used to be it doesnt mean they are weak but they are surely weaker, even tho its away i see arsenal as the favourites and arsenal will not play a full game defending never its gonna be attack attack, attack. i say milan 1 – 3 arsenal.

its quite sad to see fans putting a downer on our past two wins, just because they were mid table teams doesnt mean we shouldnt be happy. You can only beat whos in front of you. Would you rather us have drawn and been 5th still. I mean cmon atleast be happy we won.
And with regards Arshavin, I used to think he was awsome and have been very critical of him both this season and last, but theres no denying that it was an excellent cross in, would you rather he put it out for a goal kick and we got a point?
I mean seriously, be happy we won, be happy we are moving up the table, be happy we are still in the CL and FA Cup and stop being negative about everything, even when we win people still seem unhappy, its pathetic.

italians don’t have pace in their attack forget the personnel robinho he is pacy enough but their style as a team is different @grant shame on you i tell u this if they have too much quality on the pitch then we have three much quality and wenger is right we have to go there to score and even try to win it i am expecting good attack from arsenal with our pace we can take on their defenders all day the one thing i am worried about is ibra laurent and thomas can deal him on the ground but what about in the air?

Asif you are a complete Stooge! How can you criticise your team after 2 sound victories? Fair enough they weren’t against big teams but this is what Arsenal requires to regain their momentum.
Arshavin did a terrific job, he is an impact player and can change a game even if given few minutes. He has yet again shown his class but people like you still refuse to give him any deserved praise. If anything, to me that was Arshavin’s goal NOT Henry’s! We always praise Henry, but he had a simple tap in which anyone could have done! If you watched the game, Arshavin had to cut back inside to get between the 2 defenders and find that space to cross it between them. That is a difficult skill that no person appreciates if they have little experience playing football.
Asif, you are the only person in here that constantly bags your own team out even when they win. I don’t really understand where your support lies.
Please refer to ebay to buy yourself a fake Arsenal shirt, as this truly reflects your fake ways as an Arsenal fan! And while you’re at it, buy yourself a genuine Spuds shirt!
If you’re not 100% Arsenal, then dont support the club!

Prince Boateng is a player our left back will have many problems with. He has improved immensely since leaving Spuds (like many would hahaha) and has become an important player for Milan. It’s a shame that Merts injured himself as Vermaelen playing LB would cure the Boateng disease!
Ibrahmovic is a threat but he only performs well when the game is slow paced and the defence allows him to hold the ball and create things from the centre top of the box. This is why he can play in Italy but was ordinary in Spain. English teams like Arsenal love a fast-paced game and this is the tempo we should be looking at playing against Italian teams. Look to Song and our CBs keeping the overgrown big-nosed striker quiet!
Seedorf cannot be underestimated, he is world-class and our midfield need to shut this guy out. Even though age is creeping in, he has a wealth of experience and talent to threaten Arsenal.
Predicted score 2-2 for me. An open game will be played!

Lets not just dismiss sunderland as a mid table team. They won some big teams recently remember. Blackburn also won manure at old traford. We won Everton but they beat Chelsea 2: 0. So we have a reason to be happy.
One thing worries me though. Why is it we can,t shoot from outside and around the box when the opponets pack their box? That is surely the only way to punish the box packers as many things could result from it, e.g deflecting into the net; goalkeeper spilling it for us to take the spoils;getting a corner or penalty, etc. Song is especially guilt of not shooting. This is exactly how Ramsy got our equalizer.
We can also cross the ball into the box like AA did beautifully.

Milan is compromised with old age, they have experience but they can run. Ox to be a sub, expecially when they are tired. Arshavin to be given time to start in wings. Benayou its your chance to make seedorf run.
