Wenger ready to face “Best Team in the World”
Arsene Wenger saw his team play a magnificent game against Wolves yesterday to keep them in the hunt for the Premiership title, and he thinks that Asenal are now ready to face “the best team in the world”.
Robin Van Persie scored twice but ended up with an ice-pack on his leg, but Wenger believes he will be fit for Wednesday.
Wenger said: “We played an outstanding game with the number of chances we created and the quality of our game. We were defensively solid which was important after conceding four goals last week. The only regret is we did not score enough goals, but that is down to their goalkeeper.
“We play the best team in the world next so it is important to go into the game with confidence and in a strong position in the League. We are in the League race and believe we can do it. We have the hunger. We could focus on today and not have Barcelona on our minds.”
“We are not favourites, but we can do it.”
After Barcelona only managed a 1-1 draw against lowly Sporting Gijon yesterday, perhaps Arsenal will have the edge in confidence….

Ofcourse we are not favourites to win against barca over two legs but WTF noone is favourite when it comes Arsenal at home.I know Barca came hard at us last season at emirates but it ain’t gonna happen this time around…
This is a complete different team than last year..We have a sstrong team than last time we placed against them…
I remember song brilliant last season where he completely zeroed in on messi and co. for major part of the game.Messi was helpless at emirates..Now he has Wilshere with him who is awesome this season.
We have a fit fabregas which was not the case last time where he had hamstring in his mind still kept it aside and gave his best…
Defence is stronger than last year..We miss Vermaeleen but Kos and djourou have solid together..
Eboue needs to buck up in the absence of Sangna which is an area of concern, he surely needs a back up from someone or cut his forward runs or walcott has to help him out..
And ofcourse We have an in form RVP who on his day can be destructive as we have seen recently.
Szczesny who has a big test ,if he has a 9 out 10
performance then we sure have great chance to see off barca(for the first leg)..

We may not be the favourite,but with our current crop of players,we are going to take d day,we have kos instead of Silvester,Song instead of Denilson,Fabregas instead of Diaby,Persy instead of Bendtner,Wilshere instead of aged Rosiscky and Szess instead of Almunia.How will Barca play without 6 of their best players against fully fit Gunners?Let wait till den.Gooners till my last breath.

just looking at the team arsenal had against barcelona in the home game last year. this years team is much better and we lost gallas and arshavin to injury earlier in the game song had to drop back into defense and denilson had to come on into midfield nightmare stuff. And then in the away leg silvertre had to play against messi how cruel was that. I think we can really test barcelona this year.

I think this could finally be the year Arsenal shock the world we have the belief to do it and if we give 110% we will be unstoppable. Van Persie gives me goosebumps when he plays the things he does on the ball are phenomenal. And fabregas what can I say about him his vision is sublime, his calm nature and reading of the game are superb. And wilshere he is the future of England he will drive england to glory in 2012 euros because he plays with maturity beyond his years.

i know Barca are a fantastic team who are great to watch, but they play in a league which is weak compared to prem, and if they are as good as everyone says why dont they win the champions league every year, if we work hard when they have the ball and play as we can when we have the ball we can win on wednesday and gamw on at their gaff.
