Wenger refuses to rush Oxlade-Chamberlain
Arsène Wenger has vowed not to hurry into starting young star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain too soon. The 18 year-old Englishman – who bagged a terrific hattrick for the Under-21s last time out – has been seen as a replacement for Walcott, with others wanting to see him play in the central position up front for the Gunners.
However, Wenger told Arsenal Player, “I don’t think he is ready at all yet to play in a central position in the Premier League… Let’s get him there first on the flank and get him to adjust to this position”. Still, the fact that he is even considering playing him at this early stage in his Emirates career does suggest that Walcott’s time as a regular may be coming to a close.
Walcott himself wants to play in the centre-forward role but has shown several signs of not being up to the task, such as missing a seemingly simple chance to score against Bolton 3 weeks ago by taking it far too early. These kind of signs do suggest that he is arguably less ready than free-scoring Oxlade-Chamberlain for that role.
In a week that legendary striker Dennis Bergkamp questioned Van Persie’s centre-forward role for Arsenal seen of late, would it be worth a shot for Wenger to give the Dutchman more freedom, instead giving Chamberlain the role of goalscorer? Van Persie would be happy to hover behind the frontline and would arguably operate better without being the only player to be under pressure to score our goals.

and he is totally right to do that… we don’t need another superstar, that gets injured every 2 months, we need a consistent player, like sagna…

Wenger has his way of seeing things which I respect but if I were him, I will play a young talented and hungry for success player than those ones failing the team now.

i would lyk to see santos or koscielny n the right then young jenkinson..in the middle i prefer rosicky then ramsey..dnt u ol think arteta cmbine well with rosicky than ramsey? n also gve park game time..he need it..he goes to arsenal jst for two years..he chus arsenal than lille..n wengie nly wana play em on carling cup..hes on scorinh form..we wud lyk to see him upfront..why wengie dnt wana gve em a chance???
about the transfer news..gourcuff realy bein link hardly with us..i wud prefer goetze and hazard..i think there is no specialty n gourcuff..perhaps diaby,arteta,rosicky wud b even better than em..cnt wait for them to b fit enough..espcialy tv5 n diaby..hpe no more long term injuries after this..left with sagna n wilshere n medical room..why cnt b squilaci and denilson long term injuries..why must our top player..cnt wait to see ol of them n action..hpe arsenal gona b back from loser to ‘invincible’ back!

DB is right. we need some1 2 help rvp. i actually think B52 would be good if he could have been given chance to play as a CF. anyway he is much better than Chamakh.

It is not really Wengers choice to play him at this point in time…if Oxlade-Chamberlain gets the goals…he gets the goals and thats what the club needs

what have we won in a 451 formation? guess we go back to 4411 form. Its not as if the mid fielders are getting goals or doing much in attacking and defending. with two up front at least we can rotate and check the strikers out/
