Wenger reveals even more injury problems ahead of West Brom match
Arsenal’s unbelievable injury record doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of improvement, despite Arsene Wenger replacing the Gunners medical team last season. It looks like there is a race on to get quite a few first-teamers fit in time to face Chelsea on Sunday week.
We are all aware that Cesc Fabregas is hopeful that he can return in time, although Arsene Wenger is not quite as confident as his captain. This is the fifth time in two years that Fabregas has suffered from a hamstring problem, so it is probably best if he is given longer to recover than normal…..
Thomas Vermaelen has suffered a problem with his achilles, and was forecast to return against the Baggies, but that has now been revised by Wenger who now says that he will miss the West Brom game and the Champions League match in midweek as well. “He will be out for the next two games.” Wenger said yesterday. Again, will Wenger risk him from the start against Chelsea after a month off?
The good news about Kieran Gibbs only being bruised instead of having another break is tempered by the fact that he will still need time to recover. “Gibbs is a major doubt for West Brom of course but we are just happy that he has not broken his leg,” said Wenger. “He will be short-term, maybe Tuesday, we don’t know but we will see. It is only bone bruising there does not look to be any ligament damage. Let’s hope.”
Two new injury problems are concerning Thomas Rosicky’s ankle and Emmanuel Eboue’s knee, and both of them are due to have late fitness tests today to see if they can be in tomorrows squad. Wenger said yesterday: “We have some problems about Rosicky with his ankle and with Eboue’s knee. They will both have a fitness test tomorrow.”
Abou Diaby is another one that is due a late fitness test after injuring his ankle two weeks ago, but Wenger doesn’t even sound very confident about his chances either. “The only player who could come back is Diaby,” he said. “He will have a test on Friday morning and we will see from there.”
There is a little good news though. Alex Song returns from his enforced break, and Sebastien Squillaci should be okay to replace Vermaelen. “Song is back after suspension. I rested Squillaci because he had a small muscle problem but he should be back.”
We also already know that Theo Walcott, Robin Van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner have no chance of returning before the Chelsea game, and of course Aaron Ramsey and Emmanuel Frimpong are on the long-term list..
Let’s just pray that no-one else gets injured in tomorrows game, we need a top class eleven to be fit when we go to Stamford Bridge. That is one game that we just can’t afford to lose……

wtf…is this whole @#$?-ing team made of glass like samuel jackson in Unbreakable? If not for perennial injuries to half the squad we could probably win every game and hold the title each year. But as is, injuries are far and away our worst enemy and arch nemesis.

Yes ,we should have used our complete squd for chelsea’s game but right now most of them are injured so we should pray so that we will not get any other injury news,so that we will be able to beat chelsea.another thing i want to say is about our yellow jessey it seems that the jessey is a bad luck.we used the jessey against liverpool and we played 1-1,again we also used it against sunderland and also played 1-1, i think we should change that jessey.

At the rate the team is dropping like flies we could build a whole championship winning team or at least CL qualifier and a few players of quality to serve as reserves!!

Same old shit, wenger had the chance to buy in depth, he didn’t the tight prick! Now the only trophy he’s going for is the paper cup o I mean the carling cup. Every one knows we got light weight injury prone players but wenger the stubborn tight prick won’t have it! Wait until the end of the season and see.

Let’s not dwell on the injuries, we can only hope and pray the ones that are injured now return quick without any other player sustaining one. As long as the ones that are not injured are doing the job by bagging maximum points every game until the likes of RVP, Theo, Bendtner and the rest comes back then we have nothing to worry about.
We can then consolidate. I hope the guys that are not injured now can prove their credentials to be more matured to handle huge games like the Chelsea game forth coming so we can go to the bridge and stuff them; it would be a great joy to see our fans staying back to chant off the roof while the Chelski fans heading for the exit, That’s what i’m really looking forward to. Good luck and good year to the team and the fans.

What cannot be helped can be endured. Since we are already saddled with the injuries, we should make most of the situation. One thing though:we should not sacrifice one important engagement for another. We should face WBA with our best and whatever we have left.
