Wenger reveals “good news” on Arsenal injury list
Arsene Wenger is preparing the Arsenal team for a testing week ahead with three crucial away fixtures in eight days in three different competitions, and he is happy that now new injuries happened in last weeks win over Blackburn.
He said: “Everybody should be available for Saturday and we have no new injuries – that’s good news. So we can prepare well for the games this week. We have a very important week coming up with three different competitions, the Premier League, the Champions League and then the FA Cup. So it is good to have no new injuries.
He is also happy to be welcoming back Kieran Gibbs and Marouane Chamakh to the Arsenal squad for the battles ahead. He said: “Both are in contention to be in the squad, there is no reason anymore to keep them out. But I will have to decide that tomorrow. Chamakh is now at normal fitness and Gibbs is getting closer as well.”
Carl Jenkinson’s back problems are proving a lot harder to shift, but he still sounded upbeat about his recovery. “He is not far from full training, maybe two weeks. He is running normally.”
But it wouldn’t be a proper injury update from Wenger with no bad news at all, and he confirmed that Emmanuel Frimpong has had his operation on his knee ligaments. Wenger concluded: “He had surgery on Thursday night unfortunately. He had what we have seen so many times; one cruciate goes and then the other as well. It was a case for Pires, for Edu and now Frimpong. I believe that it is unfortunate.
“The fortunate situation is that we could have surgery straight away and that this threat over his head is now gone. It’s a tough time because he was doing very well at Wolves. But hopefully we can get him back in the Autumn.”
So if Jenkinson and Abou Diaby rejoin the squad by the end of the month, that will leave just Andre Santos (due back at the end of March) and Jack Wilshere to keep Frimpong company in the treatment room.
Let’s hope that we can keep any new injuries to a minimum now and have a real go at all three competitions from now on……

Great news! Now the professor needs to get his selections/subs right. He has been little suspect lately. A. Attacking mid aka behind robin needs improvement, so we can score and don’t let opponents reorganize. B. Hope Gibbs doesn’t break down that demoralises the squad and Center backs be rotated correctly (avoid over playing). C. Le Coq, Arshavin must contribute it makes us stronger. One more thing, We should now have all ways of defending and attack… Pace, strenght , hight and experience. In attack same… Crosses for Chamakh, genius of robin, pace of all three wing players and directness and experience of arshavin. No more 0:0 this season we should prevent and score… Cheers gooners.

Can anyone pls tell me what exactly happened to Diaby ???/
I’m perplexed because I am almost finding it difficult to remember when he played last for us & how the fck he gets injured so easily? Is he made out of wax with such a formidable outside structure?????
For the last 3 yrs, can someone remeber how many games he has played for us ????
Why do we carry such stretcher-lovers in our dquad?

I don’t know what the deal is with Diaby. We’ ve had him for what 5 years and he is always injured. He had one good season, about 3 years ago when he played most of the year. It’s too bad because I do think he is very talented but he is one of those players that need to be playing a lot to perform well. Might be time to let him go in the summer.

Diaby when healthy is shit. He is more useful to Arsenal when crocked; it gives others the chance to play.

With the return of Diaby I think Arsenal should look at a 4-2-3-1 with Diaby and Song at LDM and RDM and move Arshavin to the middle behind RVP as CAM. Oxlade to LAM and Walcott to RAM.
I really just want to see what Arshavin can do in a more central position before we let him go for peanuts in the Summer. He is better going forward through the midfield than Arteta, Ramsey, and Rosicky(even though Rosicky has played well above expectations this season).

Does anyone know what’s in the treatment room? Maybe there is some awesome chick that pleases our players so well so they keep on going there so often… and I’m curious about Diaby’s contract, does it expire soon, so he can be shown where the door is… damn, I’d love to be an Arsenal player in the treatment room for just a third of his salary

Right now arshavin makes more then RVP. When does Arshavins contract expire, is it this summer or next summer? Either way I do hope he will leave this summer. Fans are booing him, it seems like he doesn’t always try 100% and he has the biggest wages. Should be pretty easy decision

istill have belief that arsenal can still adverse through 2 the quaters if weger selects the best attacking players he has got all at once rather than following his stupid philosophy, let him use gervinyo, chamberline, vnp, walcott, all of them forward, rosicky and arteta. in the midfield, conquellin instend of unfit sagna, song and kosicline if back from injury, and vermiline,
