Wenger set for another fall-out as Fabregas is picked for Xmas international
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already voiced his displeasure at his players playing meaningless friendlies for their countries, especially after the recent problems with Robin Van Persie and Abou Diaby, and now it looks like he will be heading for another showdown with Catalonia.
Cesc Fabregas has been named in a Catalonia team to play Argentina in an exhibition match in the Nou Camp on December the 22nd alongside Barcelona stars like Xavi and Gerrard Pique.
The Dutch legend Johan Cruyf has been appointed manager of the Catalonia team, and the fearsomely independent Catalans would like their team to play in more serious internationals as they are looking for independence from Spain, but at the moment are limited to a few friendlies a year.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will also be unhappy as Javier Mascherano has been nominated to play for Argentina.

Fcuk this. These meaningless friendlies just before the World Cup are clearly disturbing us !
Not even a national team friendly, but a ‘wanna-be independent region team’ friendly… versus Argentina (I guess it could be worse and be against Italy)?
Ugh… this has bad news written all over it.
Oh dear. At least 2 games will be missed over the Christmas period by Cesc because of this proposed game. Perhaps it’s fortunate that it’s before the transfer window. If the worst happens, there will be a chance to rectify the problem.
Since Catalonia is not a member of Fifa, Arsenal can refuse to release Fabregas for this game.
I think friendlies are an integral part of natial football but this Catalonia ispissing me off. If they get independence spain will lose5+ strs and I support Spain as my country as I have since 2002 (i’m Canadian… No hope there)
but honeslty I don’t feel bad for arsenal and Liverpool
Chelsea is my team (FOREVER) but were not crying about losing players to the African cup. Not to be a bad sportman but hampering the other teams as well equals it out among the big four keeping it even and giving everyone a chance.
Not that we need it anyways the league is ours this year boys

cheers
Fabregas is one of the best players out there! His performance at the Liverpool match a few days ago really highlighted his passion for Arsenal. I heard he yelled at the team, “You are not fit enough to be wearing those Arsenal shirts”. I suppose he really got mad at the team but the outcome was that Arsenal won!
