Wenger should pick Nasri and Merida today

Time for Merida to play?

Time for Merida to play?

Am I the only one that thinks that Arsene Wenger should give Fran Merida a chance to prove himself in the Arsenal first team, and why not today.

With Eboue and Diaby not in the best of form (to say the least!) and facing our great rivals Tottenham, isn’t it time to give the team a little shake-up?

Sami Nasri finally played the full 90 minutes against Liverpool in midweek, and we all know that he can make a big difference to the team, and Fran Merida also played, and scored a brilliant goal from out of nothing.

Merida’s only other games recently were in Egypt for the Spain U20 side, and he scored three goals over there too! I think Arsene Wenger needs to either use him or lose him, as a kid with his talent will not accept sitting on the bench for too long, and he will think there is no point in negotiating a new contract if he isn’t going to play, and there are countless teams waiting in the wings to promise him first team football if he leaves in the summer.

Atletico Madrid have already confirmed that he is in their plans.

So, come on Wenger, let him cover himself with glory in the big derby!

What are u talking about!? Diaby was fine in the last game and eboue played very well! Collectively the side should have done more to put west ham out of sight, but the bulk of the blame lies with the ref who bought cole’s dive and gave a free-kick outside the box which (if anything) should have gone to us! This is classic scapegoating from typical arsenal “fans”

Samir was clearly exhausted on the 2nd half, it is a wonder he didn’t pass out on the pitch. And the boy & gaffer themselves mentioned that Samir is not fit for a real match (meaning no League/CL match for this young man).

And if you’re talking basing on the Carling match performance, doesn’t Aaron Ramsey clearly deserved a start ahead from those two? He’s the man of the match – the heart of the match. There’s one time where he passed through 3 players with a killer pass.

In a crazy derby like this, I don’t think the boss willing to risk youth over experience. No matter how good the youngsters are, they will be shred apart just by exposing their vulnerability.

Diaby was rubbish then and was rubbish in today’s game. He completed more passes to spurs players than he did to arsenal players.

He is rubbish at defending … so I dont know how you can call him a defensive midfielder. He does not know the first thing about heading which was proved today atleast 4 times. Everytime he gave away the ball it put Arsenal on the backfoot and a chance for spurs.

I cant see why Diaby and Eboue keep getting chances. Eboue should not be playing. Diaby … a lil understandable that wenger wants some steel in midfield. But we have so many superior wingers … play Nasri, Merida, Eduardo, Vela, Walcott (when fit). I cant see why wenger is so stubborn and continues to give chances to diaby and eboue.

Rightly said…At least Wenger should’ve given a chance to Samir Nasri. He’s been terrific form from the last season unfortunately he was injured badly and didn’t play for a while. Now he’s back and he’s the first team squad player. The way he dribbles the ball is absolutely fantastic and i think he’ll be the next Henry for Arsenal. Keeping Nasri at bench is not a good sign for Gunners.

“as a kid with his talent will not accept sitting on the bench for too long”
Merida should be utilized at least as sub player rather using the regular sub player Ramsey.

Eboue played very well in the past few months. He has improved tremendously since last season in the 4-4 draw with spurs.

Diaby is the one that should be benched/dropped/kicked out of the arsenal team.

I would play nasri, ramsey, merida, wilshere ahead of diaby anytime.

Actually if we can keep the team together, it would be fantastic.

Imagine Walcott as our central attacker with wilshere on his right and merida on his left. In midfield we have fabregas(if he is still here) and ramsey or nasri with song as the DM.

This would be the team of the future arsenal team.
