Wenger – The Arsenal crisis is over and we still have to face the Top Four at home
The Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger is more than pleased with the way his team got over their crisis of confidence at the beginning of the season and have fought their way back into contention for the Premier League title.
The Gunners are now just nine points behind the leaders at the halfway point of the season, and as Wenger points out, Arsenal have already played their closest four rivals away this season, which will give them the advantage in the run-in.
“I didn’t know that we would be in the top four by now,” Wenger said. “I felt first of all we had to stop the crisis. By crisis I mean the confidence level drops too much and you play with fear.
“We have all the teams to come here; Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City. We had a disastrous start but in the last three months we have not lost any points on them. This season will be decided by how well we do at home against the big teams.”
Wenger is unlikely to buy anyone in January, and is hopeful that his lengthy injury list of Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna, Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos will all be returning to strengthen the Arsenal squad in the next month, and they will be an even better team in the second half of the season.

Wenger will sign. The heat is on this year to finish at least 4th. He knows that we don’t have enough depth, even when our injured players are healthy. By depth, I mean quality not numbers. Not qualifying in the CL will not only affect the club financially but it loses it’s grip on the big name signings in the summer because no one wants to play in the Europa League. Just ask the Mancunians.
Henry is locked away which is great, but I’d really like to see 3 more signings in the striker, central midfield and left back positions. Hopefully we can sign someone that is versatile enough to play either LB or RB.
I’d be thrilled if we locked Podolski away ASAP and then move for a big signing for the CM role. I understand our defensive lineup is as Elvis once sang, “all shook up”, but when we are scoring more goals there is less pressure on the defence. Remember the best defensive move is an attack. I’d hate to see Wayne Bridge in the colours and rather see our young Miquel or Yennaris given more opportunity. Well it’s up to Wenger and I’d support whatever decision he makes.

With the introduction of Wilshere, and a few top quality signings in this window such as podolski, then I actually believe that we can fight for it. If you think about it, we have been defensively solid when we have had four CB’s playing in defence. With sagna back, and another full back to play on the left, we will be even more defensively solid then we are now, and if we also have the attacking flair that Jack and Podolski will give us, we will fight for the title.
We are only 9 points away!

Podolski is a come and get me deal so for crying out loud pay for him remember Aw TH is only gonna be here 2months Podolski is a must get this window do the right thing buy him now,,,, and also on another note its time for the rise of park I got a good feeling bout him,, it was a good move not playing him his a weapon that other team wont fear but should, who has 5 months training with are best players and legend under his belt his gonna be fit till the end of the season lets let the dragon loss..

lets not pretend Van Persie will play full season without injury Tho i wish that so much,we need permanent proven striker coz henry wil leave soon,Podolski or Huntleer wil be good for their experience and phisique. Please wenger do smthng,now that we have strong backline despite injuries of full backs,the only position which needs strong and wise investment is stricking force.

We all love Arsenal get to the top and win silverware but somebody has to remind AW that in the past 6 seasons Arsenal’s performance has been worse in the latter part of the season mainly due to injuries
The transfer window activities and getting couple of good players are imperative for any success this season

Is any arsenal fan expecting us to lift the epl trophy? well, don’t get ur hope so high cos if wenger is thinking like that, he should be signing quality players and not waiting for a player to be injured or loaning a 34yr old striker. wenger isn’t after the cup but only after qualifying for CL and his signings so far have established this fact.

Now the season starts actually players arent that fit anymore ,injuries , u know right know anybody can lose from anybody it is right know just about consistency nothing else, i mean the quality difference is not big between the clubs ,there are no more 4 clubs who dominate the league ,i mean even liverpool can still join the race ,wenger has to focus right now on adding quality in his team and not rely too much on wilshere cause that is what he is doing right now ,it is a big gamble

The crisis is over? lmao. Sure we have done well to come back, but just being in the top four is not good enough anymore. After six trophy less seasons our goal should be
NO1!. Not fourth. With players like Podolski, Gotze and Samba/Vertonghen, the title could be well within our grasp. We saw how the game against City could have gone either way. Now imagine with that extra firepower. We can beat them and United. I mean those are the two top teams! Come on Wenger and board, just sign those players. Gotze is 19 years of age and a great investment for the club. Him, Jack and Song in the MF would be mouth watering football. Podolski will fit our style of play and give RvP much needed support. Samba is currently in a time that is in relegation zone. He is a solid defender and will jump at the chance to play CL football. I’m tired of Arsenal’s dodgy make shift plans. It is putting out a message that Arsenal have no desire to win and be champions, only to cut costs and keep making profit to line the board members pockets!

I honestly dont think we need another full back because what will they do when Gibbs and Santos are fit? Rot on the bench? We can have Coquelin operate at full backm, he was great against QPR.

But I do think we need Podolski. If we were to get a defender, I’d get Caceres from Sevilla (can play centre back and either side of full back.) or Vertonghen who can play LB, CB, or CDM

We just can not DEFEND and every team in the premiership knows this.Dujouro is az waste of space he has not got a clue
about what is going on around him. Squillaci came on and you might as well brought on the groundsman. Walcott looks like
he does not want to be there. Rosicky is passed his best.
As for our goalkeeper Mr Wenger said that problem went away I don’t think so Szczesny was at fault for the first goal.
He Szczesny is ok but not good enough for Arsenal.
Mr Wenger if you want to save your JOB get the cheque book out and buy some Quality Players and get sell the dead wood.

Judge crisis over at the end of the season as at fulham once again we have thrown away a golden chance to cut the points difference and go clear of chelsea and liverpool but no once again we fail due to poor decision making from djourou and wenger for bringing on squillaci who is perthetic in any defensive position please sign sum quality reinforcements

Wenger will nedd to rephrase after today’s loss, confidence took a punch-
we will win nothing unless he aims higher than what he wants, he or Stan or Ivan should know that all odds, be referees, Shawcrosses or Ecras, will be there and THTAS why one needs depth.
RvP will leave, and some will follow,
Mark my words, whoever is making the calls is wrong and will crash this club that had a bright future.
If a team cant kill a gamne with a goal in hand and gives it up in the last 10 mins, its a STIKERS issue, we need more people that can score, no offense to Robin but he is ONE.
Scoring 2 goals with some minutes between them kills the ohet team, not scoring the 2nd gives the othet team confidence.
So long Arsenal as we knew it,sad.
