Wenger – The Premiership could be won on goal difference!
Arsene Wenger believes that the top three of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd are far superior to the rest of the Pemiership, but believes that the goal difference between the three of them could be decisive when it gets to the end of the season.
“It could be that tight,” said Wenger.
“Let’s go well through the next four games and then we will see what the situation is. It looks very tight.
“The goal difference is an indication of the quality of the teams.
“You could see that is +34 for the top three and after that it goes down to +18 so there is an indication there.”
With Arsenal facing Aston Villa, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool in their next four games, Wenger admits that this is a decisive part of the season, but believes that his team has the confidence to continue their winning run in the league.
“It always gets easier towards the end of the season,” Wenger said. “A few teams have nothing left to play for anymore, so sometimes you get one or two more easier games.
“I believe January, February and March is always the deciding period, after it becomes a bit easier.”
“It is an exciting period for us because we are in a very good position,”
“I make it a good opportunity to strengthen our position in the League. That is how I see it.
“We have a good level of confidence and know that with so many big games, psychologically it is important to go in with a high level of confidence, so every result has an influence on the next one.”
