Wenger – Thierry Henry is not ready for full 90 minutes yet
Arsene Wenger is very happy to have the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry back in the squad, and is keen for him to play against Swansea on Sunday but doesn’t believe he is ready to play the whole 90 minutes yet although he is not far off.
So now the Arsenal manager has to decide to either start with Henry or bring him on as an impact sub. “Thierry works very hard, is doing extra sessions and is highly motivated,” said Wenger. “He wants to help out so he makes extra sessions to try and get back to his full fitness.
“He is not there yet but he is not far from the level he was at when he left here. He is fit enough to start a game but not fit enough to last or play the whole thing.
“Those are the decisions I always have to make considering the balance of the team. He is here to help out in any way – that is even what he proposed. Does he sometimes start? Does he sometimes come on? That’s what I have to decide. He is in the squad for Sunday.”
So it sounds like he will be playing at some point against Swansea. So what do you think? Should he start on the field or on the bench?

I’m not surprised, he look shattered by the end of the match against Leeds. He’s defo an impact sub… if we’re ahead we can rest RVP for 2 months so he’s rested for all tournaments, if we’re behind we can add him with RVP for extra strike force, and finally if we’re winning by a shallow margin, he’ll be great to shut games out (like he did with Leeds).
Its nice not to have to worry about the pressure on RVP tbh, we need someone like Henry all season, not just 2 months.

if he cant last the whole 90 then it has to be as an impact player not a starter. swansea will start hard and fast and will give us very little room or time on the ball. as the game wears on they will tire and leave gaps, enter henry!!!
no point playin him for the first hour to watch him be man marked outa the game! in all honesty we dont need or lack any part of henrys game except his composure infront of goal which he showed the other nite. so last half hour is def the way to go if and only if needed otherwise let vp get on with what hes been doing all season, scoring goals and winning us games.

Yea id play him around the 60th minute to seal the game. Cant wait to see how our dline is going to function on sunday… Song should definitly take squillacis position as centre back.

A class player does’nt need 90 minutes 2 make an impact in a match.i wuld rather suggest IGWE shuld start from d bench and come in later 2 finish off d game when our opponents wuld hav been a bit tired

30 mins is enough time for the King. Let RVP open the scoring and Henry to finish off. Sounds good in theory doesn’t it? I have a feeling we will never see him play 90 mins. The team comes first and Wenger will always make sure of that.

inspite of losing several key defenders wenger is managing what limited resources he has well and honestly the defence seems to be just as good as that of the other big teams…. its just a matter of confidence

Its alright.jst increase hes minute time on the pitch now.myb cme on 60-65 minutes.last time he cme on the 70minutes.or perhaps gve him only 20-30 minutes on the pitch.against manu.he shud cme on the scond half.
i think against swansea wenger shud start with chambo-rvp-walcott upfront.bt i think he mre prefered with arshavin cus he loves him.

Swansea. I would bring him on as a supersub. I don’t know if its just me that’s noticed. But I think RVP hasn’t scored in his last couple of games? I may be wrong. Either He got tired or everyones been told to mark him
So the good think about bringing on TH12 if RVP is struggling. Is that his different style of play could through the oposision off and get us the winner.
Seeing as we don’t actually have another striker it would be silly to play both RVP and TH.

Arsene has a keen eye on the training field, it’s clear to see. Everyone knows that his emotions are telling him to play Henry for 90 mins but he knows, he always knows what is the reality. The one thing that annoys me is that he also knows exactly who Arsenal need to buy but despite all that he has done he is restricted in his spending. Having said that we do have a new stadium so it’s fair to say that if you include the cost of the stadium things might even out. I wonder where United would be now if they’d spent 470m quid on a new stadium.

Wenger loves to ask himself rhetorical questions in interviews lol. You can just hear that french accent when reading them. Anyway, Henry looks as fit as my 68 year old dad. He was walking around against Leeds. RvP has had a good rest, I would play him from the start, and bring on Thierry later on. Still though, I think it is unfair on Park not too even be an option. He is a 26 year old Korean International, who in his four only appearances has actually scored and had a few good shots on goal. Wenger should really try a 4 2 4 formation with two strikers, because it looks like the deal with Suarez is going to happen, so it would be nice to have two strikers up front to give us some extra firing power.

I really think we should subtitute henry in the next match and maybe in the match against ac milan we should place the duo up front “persie and henry” and i think it will be awesome!

The team we should use for Swansea game:
Szesney
Koscielny Song Mertesacker Miquel (or new left back)
Arteta Rosicky
Ramsey
Walcott Van Persie Chamberlain
Song is far better as centre back than Squilacci. Put Rosicky in his position because Rosicky has been good when he plays.
Sub on Henry for Chamberlain at 65mins as impact sub to take advantage of a tired Swansea side.
Sub on Benayoun for Rosicky at 60mins because Rosicky doesnt have the legs anymore so we need more energy against an energetic side.
We need to make sure we close down and also, as Walcott and Chamberlain are young, fit and fast they should drop back to defend on the wings to help inexperienced full backs Koscielny and Miquel. We will then sub on a offensive players to add some energy while Swnasea will sub on defensive players and sit back because their side will be exhausted. Predicted score:Arsenal2-1Swansea. (Van Persie,Ramsey to score) (Graham to score for Swansea first)

Yea its a gr8 idea to bring in Henry in d 2nd period of d game. But he shld cme in as early as 60th mins of d game, swansea is a stubborn team, but am sure we r taking 3points away 4rm dem
