Wenger – We are still looking for a midfielder and a defender
Arsene Wenger saw his sadly depleted Gunners get a hammering from Manchester United yesterday, and admitted that he is still trying to bring in some new players to improve the squad.
He said that he had a whole team of people looking for new players for Arsenal, and if he can find players of the right quality he will buy them.
Wenger said: “I am very open if we can find the right players. We have the money to sign players. If we find players who can strengthen our team then we will do it. But I am not the only one to work on the case, we have 20 people who are working on that. If we do not do it, it is because we don’t find them.
But he refused to admit that the lack of new players contributed to the 8-2 defeat to Man Utd, rather reminding the fans that he had eight first-team players out either with injuries and suspensions.
“We have plenty of players out today, too many players missing.” he continued. “We do not have the squad to compete when we have this many players out. At the moment, we have not found the solutions to our problems outside. When you look at today, you cannot predict how many players we have out. We did not expect to have Wilshere out, Diaby out, Gervinho out, Vermaelen out and Gibbs out.”
He then went on to indicate that a striker (Park Chu-Young?) was expected to sign shortly, but the other positions were still being sought after.
He said: “We are close to signing a striker at the moment but we are still looking for a midfielder and a defender.”
Arsenal did have a very important Champions League game in midweek, and Wenger thinks that fatigue from that match contributed to the heavy defeat. He asked for more time before writing off this season completely, despite the constant criticism of his methods and transfer dealings.
He concluded: “I am in a public job and I have to accept that. I try to make the right decisions for the Club and I will continue to do that. The players we have sold are players I brought to the Club. If you look at the 15 years I have been at the Club, I have brought in some good players. We have played three games in the Premier League, give me more time before saying that I have got it completely wrong. There were patches in the game where we had quality. I feel we collapsed physically more than anything else today.”
Just three days remaining of the transfer window, who thinks that Wenger really will bring in two more players before it shuts?

With these salaries, after this two humiliating results I don’t know who is coming in.
We certainly have the biggest transfer kitty known nowadays, despite of how many cash flows chelsea, mancity and psg want to fund. there is no willing from part of the board to invest on our club.
They have been reluctant during this past 6 years and it seems that we barely replace our top players.
As of this moment and only because of this stupid policies it is unknown wheter wilshere, walcott and van persie remain Arsenal players next season.
This board even suck at doing business, they certainly can negotiate the sales of players, but they are every good at destroying an entity of such reputation at Arsenal.
The simple fact of qualifying to the uCL brings as much money as losing nasri, so what’s the point of selling every player and not investing in wiinning as much competitions as we can???

If kroenke and Gazidzis were Board members of Apple they would have sold the Ipod, the Iphone, THe Ipad, The Imac and most of this patents to the competition. And they would claim that the machintosh and OS the macbooks alone would bring as much cash to remain in business. I believe that if they can they would sold their moms for as much as 1 penny.

2 midfielders if you ask me, look at wayne rooney’s first goal you will tell that some senior players dont care about arsenal. rosicky looked clearly uninterested in standing in the wall as the ball went in he’s not even bothered looking back not a single bit of emotion when man utd scored.

Th way things going on with the team is really bad. I was wondering, what was AW doing when he knew that Fab and Nasri are going to leave this season. Why he didn’t buy players earlier than the last minute purchase, especially the defence. He knew Cahill is available, why he didn’t splash the cash earlier. And he knew that we’ll be playing against Liv and MU in early games. What a poor management! And about yesterday’s game was a shame, when I don’t see any leader in the team. Van persie should have done better when he took the penalty, that would lift the spirit of other players. At that kind of moment, Fab was a better captain. We really need a better captain who can really hold the team together on the pitch. I agree on some of the comment on Rosicky who don’t even bother to look at the ball during rooney’s free kick and just walk away from the wall. this is ridiculus, why we still need this kind of players. Anyhow it is not end of the world for arsenal, but hope AW will strengthen the team in 48 hrs. It doesn’t matter who start the race first, it all about who finish the race first. Go GUNNERS!

Its unrealistic to ever say a ‘match fit’ arsenal..yes,the 1st team is good and we usually have a great season up to december but the problem comes when we are participating in 4 cups where we play 3 games/week,there r injuries nd suspension and we start using a depleted side because the rest of the players r nt quality.thats where signings are needed.did u see the man utd bench,their “B” side can even play champions league.its a dream to think that noone will be injured/suspended!!

What a humiliating weekend. I still cannot believe that we were beating 8-2. Yes i knew we might loose the game because of the current position of our sqad but i never expected that margin. Maybe if RVP and Arshavin had made good of the chances that they had in the opening minutes of the second half maybe it could have been better but that is history now. On a positive note now, at least we are signing the striker, a deal has been agreed with Lille over Eden Hazard whom will be in London tomorrow for medicals and also a deal has been agreed with Bolton over Cahill as the player has requested Bolton to let him join us. I forsee a new team after the FIFA break. Lets keep supporting the team just like we did at Old trafford yesterday. Despite the loss the supportes never stopped which is another positive this season. Gonners for ever.

Thank God for international friendlies, they give us a break and for RVP another six weeks in rehab.(hope not).
Must admit I`m looking forward to a new Arsenal line-up if we get Hazard and Cahill with Ryo and Gervinho in the side and possibly Park. Sagna back to his old spot and Verm. to left back should close a few gaps. We also have the naughty boys to come back.

Dear Wenger,
We are tied of your LAME/CHILDISH excuses ie we have used a young team, injuries, tight fixture etc. Man U are experiencing all those at the moment. Fedinand, Vidic,etc are injured. The team that slashed you, are exactly the same age with Arsenal. In addition we would not expect a team of Arsenal’s calibre to be experiencing such perenial complaints. Blame it in the technical bench, which you are heading.
Open to positive critism, escapism doesnt build but generates more cycles of blame and critism. Simply carry out A SYSTEMATIC dygnosis of the situation at hand and take the corrective action. Everyboby even kids know that Arsenl’s main problems are three fold ie to strengthen the team in the following areas. These were clearly splet out at the end of the season. You even went ahead to promise a “busy Summer”. We are yet to see. Managers are supposed to be relied on but not liers.
1. Experience to beef up the young players
2. Defence which has been leaking in alot of goals
3. Height/ strength to give the team a compititive edge
What you are doing is to the contrary. ie still splashing funds on the teen players who are still not needed or end up being sent out on loan ie still admantly supporting the failed youth policy. No attention is being given to defence.SELLING OUT THE BEST PLAYERS WITHOUT APPROPRIATE REPLACEMENT.
Mr.Wenger, fans are not fools, they are watching all that. The support you are crying for from fans is simply built by doing it right and not by calling for it. You built it but your complacency is fast killing it. You simply need to apply a scientific approach to the issues at hand.
You have destroyed Arsenal’s brand equity ie thats why Arsenal has ceased being a destination/retention point for star players. Your utopian thinking has no place in any mordern management.

Oh the shame. I knew we would be beat, but this scoreline was a disgrace.
Time to wake up and smell the horse manure. WE HAVE NO DEPTH. Depth = when some of you team is out, you can compete. Maybe not win, but compete. We did not compete yesterday, and must find the players that will help us do so.

The last few days have gone like….we are on the verge of signing Chu Young, Hazard and Cahill. But whether any official proceedings are made, is still in the maze. These players can prove to be helpful right now in the deepest need of proper playmaking and defending in our team. So Mr. Wenger should stop ‘looking’ any further and do some real work in bringing these players by Wednesday.

I am sick and tired of hearing Wenger say “If we can find the right players”. WTF! Just once I would like him to describe what he considers “the right players” to be. Perhaps he means the “cheapest” players?
He says: “We have the money to sign players. If we find players who can strengthen our team then we will do it”. Well Sh*t, where the hell are they looking for players at that they can’t find any that they think will strengthen our team. Maybe they need to follow some of the scouts from our rivals around because everyone else seems to find players to strengthen their clubs, except Wenger. There are plenty of players the he could get to strengthen the team without breaking the bank.
He continues and says: “If we do not do it, it is because we don’t find them.” Well F**K, why didn’t he say so! I will help him start looking for them right away!
Excuses, that’s all that is. Excuses are like A**holes, everyone has one and they all stink!

Wenger please buy Mats Hummels to help Verm, Jans Vertonghen as cover for CB and as DM + scores goal. Get Hazard and Fernando Llorente who I believe would help RVP a lot. We need a LB as well gibbs always injured and Jenkinson is ok but could be good for the future. Gunner for life.
