Wenger – We lost key players but will stick with our youth policy
Arsene Wenger had his young Arsenal side flying towards a possible four trophies last season until it all came apart at the seams after losing the Carling Cup Final. The turmoil this caused led to Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy and Samir Cashri leaving the club which forced Wenger to bring in a host of new players in the final days of the transfer window.
Ahead of tomorrows game against Blackburn, Wenger was asked if bringing in the new players meant that he had to begin a new “cycle” to build a trophy-winning team.
Wenger replied: “It starts again because we have taken five players.
“How long does the cycle take? In the modern society zero days.
“We were a team on the up and that was not rewarded last year because we were a bit hungry to go for all four trophies.
“The basic quality was there and we were certainly very close to winning last year. But now we’ve been were hit by major departures that were not planned so we had to review a little bit.
“There’s a difficult balancing act between starting a new cycle and fulfilling the fans expectations.
“But we want our fans to be happy, we want to win trophies and we will give absolutely everything to do it.
“Because we lost key players and the because of the injuries we’ve had we couldn’t survive without buying players,’
“And the players available had a bit more experience than what we usually sign. But we have invested as well, our highest investment has been in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a young player.
“We have the work permit for Ryo Miyachi, we still will not give up on our youth policy.”
Arsenal fans are certainly happy that Wenger has finally brought in some much-needed experienced players to the team, but he has pointedly refused to go for the most expensive (highest quality?) players in their prime, instead opting for cheaper players perhaps nearing the end of their careers.
But is this new Arsenal squad really capable of dislodging one of the top three this season, or even keeping fourth place?

I think without doubt, AW has become the greatest manager in the arsenal history.
As much as i love his sincerity and the energy he has endorsed to this club, i feel his time has passed and its time to move on and let someone new take over.
This wont be an easy task given AW’s football philosophy and what he has achieved with the gunners. He has always shown concern for the club not just on the field but off as well.
But Mr Wenger i feel just lacked that killer instinct when it was needed. When he sold a key player for example, he had to be replaced with an equal or even better. Something he failed to do on more than one occasion in the last 3 seasons especially.
It was naive to believe that 18-22 year olds would fit in as seasoned players and when a GK would make obvious and frequent errors , i dont think it needed an einstein to figure we need a better replacement and quickly!
I dont want to even start mentioning players that just didnt fit the bill and weren’t even worthy of wearing the arsenal colours, but AW let this side down too.
It wasn’t a case of just spending erratically like manshit city or chelscum. Just 10 or 15 mill for 3-4 qulaity players would of sufficed, especially considering we sold a few to make up for the difference.
Yes Arsene Wenger will be known as arsenal’s best manager ever, but he fell just short of being great!

its funny but both of the above although are different i seem to agree with both, although i dont think at the moment we are as good as we will as the new guys need a bit more time and we mis wiltshire, but we have taken out the trash, nasri the mersinary and fabrigas our capitan, our leader the superstar we created, the sensation that loved our club so much that he couldnt wait to f–ck of,but what is worse is that he keeps poping up in the paper saying that it breaks hi heart to se the turmoil he left behind, duh you helped create this turmoil you twat, and clichey, well what can i say he was making to many mitakes so his decision was a good one for arsenal, but now it is down to the new boys to step in and do the business

Wenger has not deliverd in a long time, he chooses to sign exiting youngsters rather than the one who is able to replace the experianced player that leaves our team. He does not spend much in the transfer windows, and he always rules himself and the club out for competing to sign the best footballers going in the market. A bit frustrating i would say so , but none the less he is the best, who else is gonig to take over and repeat his work and magic, who else will find players on the cheap and make them into stars and who else will give us the joy of free flowing football like wenger can. The squad he has now has potential and i do believe that this squad is good enough to win perhaps an F.A cup or even with the luck of the draw a first champs league as long as TV5 and van persie are availerble and fit, even if we have a few injuries these two will be able to push the team on. 1 thing i know for certain, when this current team gels in together, it will be better than the last seasons 1 as everyone is a 100 percent focused on the club and willing for the club unlike last season, there will be no disturbance of a players contract issues or desire of leaving for another club. This year we may just see something special depending on how hungry our players are? And just for the records i think our season started the day we won at swansea, anything before that was what we should see and think as pre season if you folks know what i mean, and last of all and the most important seen as this season is underway please get behind mr Wenger and support him and our club, you guys might not think he is not dedicated enough or whatever, but i reckon there is no bigger arsenal fan in this world at the moment than mr wenger himself, he loves this club more than his own life, i wouldent be suprised if he was to have a hart attack if we didnt qualify for champs lg this season(god bless him)wheather you hate him or love him he is a legend for the gunners and id rather win something with him than anyone else as he truely deserves a cup win.

Arsene has lost the ambition and desire in the last 2or3 seasons to be a great manager. Remember in the 2008/9 season when arsenal only needed a proven striker to win the league but none was brought in during that January window, RVP was injured, Theo and Cesc talked about our need for a striker then, but the manager did nothing about it.
Then came the 2009/10 season when we had a disaster in goalkeeping, I know it has been resolved from within but had Arsene brought in a decent keeper at the time we would have been champions of England.
In 2010/11 we had a very poor defensive record and no cover for RVP when he was injured. He started banging in the goals when he recovered but it was too late to win the league and we couldn’t defend a lead.Fellow gooners stop blaming star players when they leave our beloved club when they get fed up of our failures, some have said on other blogs that Cesc should have made us winners;well soccer is a team sport and even if Lionel Messi was sorrounded by mediocre players with Almunia in goal, he wouldn’t be a winner. You will see that when star players are sorrounded by players who do their part, they win trophies.

Did someone just mention our season just started last week and arsenal was on the way up?
We lost again to a lowly blackburn side after being 2-1 up at the break.
This is becoming really embarassing. What have u done mr wenger???

I can’t help but feel we lost confidence when the departures of Henry,Ljunberg, Viera, Pires etc. took place. We failed to replace them with that 25+goal a season striker, the crunching tackling of Viera which is irreplaceable due to football these days, and Pires’ crosses/dribbles were out of this world and now look at this 4-3 loss to Blackburn Rovers… Who by the way I have been ripping my brother for 7 years or more everytime we won, now today I get a text “Unlucky m8, bunch of wa****s” I feel sick.

Yes Arsene Wenger you bast.rd & with you all the assh.les who chew & lick yr balls so hard that they are now blind with yr pissed off sense of ‘ fckng youth policy ‘
You recruit peanuts & you get peanuts…
Today we lost to the lowly lying side ( which would be struggling to save relegation this year ) by 4-3…yes we fckng conceded 4 goals from Blackburn..Can you beat it ????
Yes some fckers in this blog would say one goal was offisid, otherwise we played well… we had bad luck, we have key players out with injury… My submission to them – Fck off & lay off…
Kick this moron AW out … he has almost become an evil spirit for the club…no other club is scared to play against Arsenal..they know, play some long balls, put pressure on Arsenal defence & they would crack…
Year after year same story – we needed a rock called SAMBA for so long..almost everyone thought that AW the dickhead would understand that… But NO..He is only bothered about money.. We saw what SAMBA was tody at Blackburn- he was like a rock …
It was good that we lost to Man U by 8-2 …otherwise the last inute frantic signings would also not happened..
I don’t know where we would finish this season with this Donkey in charge of our squad…
But I’m sure of one thing..these AW lickers in this blog would be finished by the end of this season as if we keep performing like this, it is not so far that he would not only be shown the door…actually he needs to be kicked out & if I ever get a chance I would like to kick some of his moron fans as well who have been turning blind all these years…
HA HA HA .. I know what responses I would get from some nerds who call themselves AW lickers…
I have lost hope for this season.. But if ending at 5th or 6th is a very good achievement ( which I’m sure we are going to end at )as would be suggested by AW & hs band of bastar.s – Then I would like to show my middle finger to them & say loudly – up yours…
In Arsene we rust.. kick that idiot out & save the club..Any new manager is welcome..we can’t get worse than this…
