Wenger – We need to get the Tottenham game out of our heads
Arsene Wenger is preparing to face Sunderland this weekend, and he is hoping that the Arsenal players have got the disappointment of losing to Tottenham out of their heads.
In fact he believes that the Gunners should not really have lost that game, and he wishes they could have gone out straight away played another game to banish the memory of the unlucky defeat to their great rivals.
“I would have loved to have played three days later,” Wenger said.”Because I felt the quality of performance was there but the outcome was very frustrating and somewhere I felt we punished ourselves.
“It is frustrating because I feel the basis inside the team is very good, that the quality of our play is improving game-to-game, that the attitude of the players is very good.
“But now it is time to transform all of that into positive results, knowing that to win or lose is not down to coincidence. It is down to concrete facts and these at the moment are details and not really basic qualities.
“We were not beaten on the day by a bad performance but because the details you need in big games were not on our side and that was very frustrating. The disappointment was big and ideally I would have loved to have played again soon afterwards. But maybe to get that game out of the players’ heads it was better for them to have the international games.”
But on Sunday, the Gunners will have another chance to start a good run, this time against struggling Sunderland, and surely the team will be ready to play as a well-tuned unit by now?

Wenger must know that we lost the game because of the lack of attitude by some players on the pitch and the quality on the bench did not help either, it is high time we have to get things right we the fans are FRUSTRATED NOW!!!

thats the reason we always end up losing games we are supposed to win. Wenger doesnt ever criticise his players for lack of concentration/seriousness or commitement required at this level of football. He chooses to get technical when simple things like team spirit are the core of the issue. 7 games and we are already aiming for top finish at best. Maybe thats one technicality wenger needs to consider to realise he’s slowly becoming a liability.

Stop pretending and sending mixed massages. If there is any match(es) that have exposed your technical naivety. Totenham match was among.Fans a not stupid and have the ability to make objective analysis.
The truth of the matter is, you lost the game to a more technically composed team. Please conceed the defeat and look for the way foward to address the shortfall.
