Wenger – We need to step up a gear to win title, but we have a good chance
Arsene Wenger was very impressed with the way his Arsenal team kept going and pressed for the winner right until the last minute at West Ham, but he admitted that they needed to “step up a gear” if they were going to challenge Chelsea for the Premiership title.
He said after the game: “We kept going and out of this game we can say we have once again shown a great attitude and we have matured. You can see that when it doesn’t work for us the players remain calmer than before.
Wenger was then asked if they were now mature enough to win the title? “I believe we have a good chance, yes,” he replied.”But we want to show consistency first. We go step by step. I believe we still need to step up a gear to completely achieve that.
“But on the other hand you feel as well that there is more to come out from this team because we had a good potential on the bench today and we still have some players to come back. So if we can keep a good injury record then we have a chance. It’s too early in the season to be confident but I have belief.
“We have to show we can handle every single game with the different aspects that the Premier League has. You saw today that we played against the bottom team in the Premier League and it was a real battle. We have to show we can compete like that in every game.”
So Arsenal now have five wins in a row and three clean sheets in a row, and with Shakhtar, Newcastle and Wolves in the next ten days, there is no reason we can’t extend it a little longer and increase our confidence even more!

Please dont under estimate the away match to Wolves. They are very strong at home and their infamous captain karl henry will break as many arsenal legs to win the match

@salim:
wtf u mean by sell arshavin!! he has been one of the best players this year!!! his best season where he has been less selfish!! and providing opportunities to others and yet scoring crucial goals!! And U CANT REPLACE world CLASS players like him easily!! JET is still young and u cant put him under pressure straight away!! Wilshere took two years of constant performance to enter the first team!! Wenger knows best – he knows how to get best out of his amazing prodigies!!

I quite agree with u guy, why sell Arshavin, one who has the highest assist and 5 goals already this season, as well as he stays fit than most of our precious stars. i think we should cut this guy some break, he is being played off his wing and yet he shows how much of a professional he is by helping the team year in year out. at his age, i think he has done better than any of our players. let us concentrate on supporting the team and the new found spirit, winning mentality and the new keepers form. Keep it up fabinaski and the sky will only be ur starting point. Gunners for life.

I agree that Ashavin is not at his best. Jack will be back now and Walcott should start next game. Love the clean sheets
