Why Arsenal Fans Can Be Confident About Betting Their Team to beat Stoke
Arsenal v Stoke is a 1.30 Sunday kick off but non televised, due to both sides playing in Europe mid week. Arsenal would have a more valid excuse if hung over after the tough trip to Marseille whereas Stoke faced an easier match against Maccabi Tel Aviv at home.
Arsenals home form this season is hard to fault with 5 wins on the spin now. Stretching back to last season there have only been 3 defeats in the last 20 home matches. Stoke have been travelling about as well as Dennis Bergkamp recently, conceding 2 at Swansea last week and 4 at Sunderland two weeks earlier. Previous to that they failed to win at Norwich. Despite sitting a very respectable 7th in the Premiership they have only won once away from home this season and that was against West Brom.
Arsenal’s recent matches at home to Stoke gives us even more confidence as they have finished 1-0,2-0, 4-1, 2-1, 5-2, 3-0, 4-0, 3-1 and, 3-0.
What is worrying for Stoke is as well as having scored the least number of goals in the premiership, 6 compared to Arsenals 12, they have also had the least number of shots on target at just 21 (compared to Arsenals 47).
So Arsenal fans can have plenty of confidence about a comfortable win but what are the best bets?
With Van Persie on fire, many will be looking at the EVS on him to score at any time during the match. A more generous 7/2 is available for Van Persie to score first. If 4/7 is too short on a straight Arsenal to win bet, then some would be looking at a correct score. But score patterns this season and v Stoke don’t give us any clues.
Perhaps a better option is to back Arsenal to be winning at Half Time and Full time at 7/5. Stoke have scored just one first half goal in the premiership all season, whereas Arsenal have scored in the first half of 5/7 of their home matches this season.

Still should not be too complacent. Stoke are a good side. Very physical, which is sonetimes hard for arsenal to play against. However, with van persie on fire, I’m stillconfident that with our recent form, we would he able to beat stoke by at least 2 goals.

to beat stoke MAYBE we should play a bit different..i’m meant by pressing thier defend and midfield..not just play a passing move like always..we must used our ‘speed’ (gervinho + walcott) to press them.. and this may force them to do a mistake and ref will get them yellow or red..make sure that their midfield can’t do any good pass / assist to their striker (crouch) as we know a bit slow on speed..they will used same strategy that is punished us on set piece and throw in (delap) damn! i hate delap + shawcross + crouch.. 1 more thing, do you realize that our keeper always been block heavily by stoke players during their set piece..make sure someone can help our keeper i meant by push away this blocker!!!!

Physical matches…dosnt that usually bring INJURIES for Arsenal?

on paper arsenal to win 1-0…but stoke are the most physical team in the prem so anything can happen. A lot will depend on the referee…..you notice how a stringent ref totally nullifies stokes bully-boy rugby style tactics…the red cards last night tell the story.
Hard to predict….. a draw maybe the best bet for decent odds (id say 2-2)although arsenal will probably edge it.

Yea i have to fancy us we have been starting to turn the corner agains the spuds we should of beat them but our luck was out.. we done really well in mid week beating a good team who stuffeg dortmond at home but we still need another defender in the mould of Jan
Vertonghen who can play anywere across the back line another striker would be class as well

Seeing Jenkinson is out, I would pull Song back into defense. Play Kossie RB, then in midfield my key player would be Frimpong, simply because he is tough as nails and quick too. We need someone like him in the midfield against Stoke because of those attributes.
If our players fight for the ball and show some grit we will beat them. Ofcourse it will be tough, I think there will not be many goals either 1 – 0 to us, or 2 – 1.
