Why Arsenal should buy Arda Turan (video)
The Turkish genius Arda Turan has been linked with Arsenal for the last couple of years, and he has now decided that it is time for him to leave Galatasary and Turkey, and at the moment it looks like his most likely destination is London.
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have both registered their interest in the talented playmaker, but his agent is still waiting for a concrete offer. Perhaps Wenger is still waiting to see what happens with Fabregas, but Turan is an extremely talented youngster. He has been captain of his team for the last year, despite only being 23 years old, and is experienced in Europe and internationally.
Just before Christmas last year, Turan let it be known that he would be looking to move on to bigger and better things this summer, and especially picked out Arsenal as his favoured destination after they had made enquiries last summer. He said: “At this moment in time I have no contact with any clubs. I had a lot of interest in the summer for him, but the club did not want to sell him,”
“He is now the new captain of Galatasaray, so I don’t think he will be sold in January. However, I do think he will be sold in July.
“In the summertime Arsenal made contact regarding him, but the club did not want to sell. He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger because he is very good at working with young players, and Arda wants to work in England.
“Arsenal are interested, and if they want him, Arda’s first choice is Arsenal.”
Last night Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, said: “At the moment I have had no contact, unofficial or official from Arsenal or Arsene Wenger. Regarding Tottenham Hotspur there was a small enquiry regarding the player, but I have had no official contact or an official bid for the player.”
If you have a look at this video, you can see why Wenger was originally attracted to Turan, and perhaps he could be just as exciting in the Premiership as he is in Turkey…….

Good call. I knew he was a good player, but I didnt know he was this skillful. His movement is good and he can keep his head in front of goal. Hes also a fighter which is vital to be a success in this league.

he could do well under the management of Arsene Wenger.. however, i dont think he will do better that Nasri. If Turan comes, Wenger should sell Rosicky because hes getting older and to be honest he isnt as good as he used to be and id give him about 3 or 4 years before his legs give up like Vieira’s done as you saw when he was on loan to Man City.. Hes still a bear but!!

i`ve been watching turkish football for sometime, they are not all good but arda turan is a very talented player(i would put him on a par with our own cesc fabregas)he is strong fast and very skillfull, he would fit in no problem.

Turan is a good player. I will be happy if he comes to Arsenal. But, I dont think Wenger will go for Mid fielders unless Cesc leaves. He is concentrating on building defence now as Sol, silvest, Gallas, senderos are all gone. We are only left with vermealan, Koscielny, sagna, traore and clichy. We need one more mid fielder as Diaby and Denilson have not grown as big match players with big goals.

I agree that he is very skillful and talented with potential to become the likes of Zidane or Messi. But the EPL is a completely different story and I wonder if he will still be able to do what he does in the fast-paced and deadly tackling of the rough english game. I hope that if he does come here, that he does not end up with a broken leg like a lot of our other players.
I believe that we should not use him as an immediate replacement for Fabregas, we should use him alongside Fabregas because it still may take some time for him to adjust. Then when Fabregas does leave, he will have developed enough to replace him -and possibly become our next captain.
We should also forget about Mesut Ozil because he already explicitly stated that he does not want to come to Arsenal. Any players that we get should want to play for us because our club relies heavily on loyalty and passion rather than large pay checks to keep players – it takes long time to build a tournament winning team and we need to keep the same team for as long as we can.

I have to say his final ball into the box is something that got my attention, with the addition of Chamakh we need someone like him to service him with balls from the wings. I would look at him more of a long term replacement for Arshavin than a replacement for Cesc.
The question is will Wenger go for him? I seriously doubt it,will Wenger go for Edin Hazard? I seriously doubt it so I guess we will have to admire from a distance as the chances of these players coming to Arsenal are slim!

c’mon admin, you cant judge a player from a youtube video. The things he did…nasri could do a lot better. Seeing him playying and performing week after week is a different story. In my opinion we dont need him right now and im pretty sure AW wont be buying any attackers. I it would be better that he doesnt buy. Defence is the concern right now.
